Stevie Wonders if UK tour will sell out

September 9th, 2008 by Gregory Jones

With less than a week before the start of Stevie Wonder’s 8 date UK arena tour, it has been revealed that he is set to receive this year’s coveted Gershwin Award.

The tour commences on the 8th September and is yet to sell out. The tour organisers had clearly anticipated much higher demand having booked 8 shows at some of the country’s largest venues. Similarly, it would appear that ticket resellers have also misjudged the popularity of the Motown legend. Tickets are currently listed online for as much as £694 despite the fact that a near identical ticket can be had for £130. Whilst the tour may not be as popular as some had predicted, it is clear that diehard fans are willing to pay whatever it takes for the right seat. A pair of premium tickets recently sold for £600 – over 4 times face value.

Fans are advised to check for the availability with the box office before they buy from the online resellers.
