Metallica cancel concert after lead singer is hospitalised

Metallica were forced to cancel a show in Stockholm last night (March
after singer James Hetfield was taken to hospital suffering from dehydration moments before they were due to perform.
16,000 Swedish fans had been waiting for the band to appear on stage for the show to begin, but were then told by the other members of the band that the gig was off.
It has been reported that drummer Lars Ulrich apologised to the crowd saying ‘Trust me, none of you guys wanna hear me, Rob or Kirk sing.’
Metallica are due to continue the UK leg of their 2009 tour in two weeks time taking in Birmingham’s LG Arena (March 25), Glasgow SECC (March 26) and coming to a close at London O2 Arena (March 28). Metallica tickets are still available from £65.
