Radiohead to play summer 2009 concerts

In an interview with BBC radio’s Newsbeat Radiohead guitarist Ed O’Brien has hinted at the possibility of the Band performing a series of summer gigs.
Currently working on new material, it would seem that the band will be seeking to showcase a new album at various summer gigs. We will be doing a little bit of touring in the summer, watch this space!’ said O’Brien
The expected tour would following on from Radiohead’s 2008 In Rainbows tour which culminated in a showpiece concert at London’s Hyde park.
O’Brien was speaking at the first meeting of the Featured Artists’ Coalition in London. The newly formed music industry lobby of musicians who are attempting to establish a more prominent voice in the future of the music industry.
The FAC has claimed it will fight to ensure that the interests of artists and fans are not compromised by deals brokered between multi-national corporations which only serve corporations self interest. To this end it is asking for transparency from the industry in exchange for cooperation towards renewal and growth.
Artist joing Radiohead in the Featured Artist Coalition inlcude Billy Bragg, Boilerhouse Boys, Chrissie Hynde, Craig David, David Gilmour, Gang of Four, Iron Maiden, Jazzie B, Jools Holland, Kaiser Chiefs, Kate Nash, Klaxons, Richard Ashcroft, Robbie Williams, Sia Furler, Soul II Soul, Stephen Duffy, The Cribs, The Verve, Travis, Wet Wet Wet and White Lies.
