Pixies to perform at Isle of Wight Festival

It has been announced that the  Pixies will play this year’s Isle Of Wight Festival. The hugely popular event is set to take place between 12 & 14 at Seaclose Park.

The Pixies will be kicking off the festival with a rare appearance having only performed intermittently since their 2005 headline shows at Reading and Leeds festivals. Meanwhile Neil Young will bring the festival to a close on the Sunday (June 14). Tickets for the 2009 Isle of Wight Festival are still available from £160.

Other acts including The Prodigy, Basement Jaxx, Stereophonics and Razorlight are among the band’s performing at this year’s Isle Of Wight Festival.

As well as having confirmed an appearance at this years Isle of Wight festival and two other live dates in the UK, Neil Young will perform at the Nottingham Trent FM Arena on June 23 Aberdeen Exhibition Centre the following day (June 24), London’s Had Rock Calling (June 27) and Glastonbury Festival (June 28). Neil Young tickets are still available from £50.

Other acts on the 2009 Isle of Wight line up are also on tour in the UK this year. Stereophonics play a one off special gig at the Royal Albert Hall as part of the 2009 Teenage Cancer Trust campaign. Stereophonics tickets are available from £49. The Prodigy and Basement Jaxx both kick off their UK tour in April and tickets are still available. Prodigy tickets start at £25 and tickets to see Basement Jaxx are available from £20. Razorlight embark on a four night tour in May which includeds performances at Buxton Opera House (May 4), Leamington Spa Assembly (May 5), London O2 Arena (May 7) and Manchester Evening News Arena (May 9). Razorlight tickets are available from £26.
