Rachel Weisz to star in A Streetcar Named Desire.

It has been announced that Hollywood star Rachel Weisz will be taking to the West End stage this summer in a revival of the Tennessee Williams’ play a Streetcar Named Desire.

The four month stint will mark a third appearance at the Donmar theatre for the award winning actress who has been cast in the role of Blanche Dubois.

Rachel Weisz has previously won a best supporting actress Oscar for The Constant Gardner in 2006 and has also held starring roles in The Mummy, About a Boy and Enemy at the Gates

A Streetcar Named Desire will take to the stage from 23 July – 3 October as part of the new season at the Donmar Theatre.

West End Theatre fans will welcome the news as they gear up for a summer season which will see long running favorites such as Hairspray, Chicago, Dirty Dancing, Les Miserable, Oliver and Jersey Boys coupled with exciting new productions of Calender Girls, Sister Act, A Street Car Named Desire, Life is a Dream and Red.
