Arctic Monkeys frontman, Alex Turner, has recently confirmed that the band are set to play a special one-off show at Brixton O2 Academy, London. Arctic Monkeys will perform live on August 26 at the Brixton venue.

The Arctic Monkeys have revealed that the gig will only be open to fan club members.  Fans of the Arctic Monkeys have until midnight tomorrow (August 19) to register for tickets on the band’s official site ArcticMonkeys.com.  Fans will be selected at random and invited to purchase tickets.

The Arctic Monkeys are set to preview their forthcoming album, Humbug, as they warm up for the 2009 Reading and Leeds Festival.

The 2009 Reading and Leeds Festival is set to take place over the August Bank Holiday (August 26-29). Arctic Monkeys will be joined by a number of top UK and US acts including Kings of Leon, Kaiser Chiefs, The Prodigy and Radiohead. Tickets for this year’s Reading and Leeds Festival are still available.
