NFL Wembley appearance an American success story

New England Patriots v Tampa Bay Buccaneers

The latest instalment of the NFL’s ‘International Series’ has once again proved to be a resounding success.

The match between the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and the New England Patriots drew a sell-out crowd of 84,254, encouraging NFL organisers to consider expanding the programme in the future.

Talks are underway to host a second regular season match in the UK though it is unlikely to be in London due to the huge demand in cities such as Manchester, Dublin and Edinburgh.

Although the interest in the game in Europe is gathering momentum, the match itself was a one-sided affair with the Patriots romping to victory 35-7 with quarterback Tom Brady stealing the show once again
