2010 World Cup fever begins to mount
October 29th, 2009 by Phil Lythell
The 2010 World Cup kicks off in South Africa in just over eight months time and the excitement is building.
Tickets have been snapped up at an astonishing rate with around a million having already been sold. What is even more surprising is that it is still not known which teams will be playing where. Indeed, there are still a number of play-off matches to be played before we know the identity of all 32 teams that will take part in the finals.
The FIFA World Cup draw is to be made in Cape Town on December 4 and the next sales phase for tickets will go on sale to the general public on the following day. Tickets are available on an individual match basis or you can buy a ‘Team-Specific-Ticket’ (TST) and follow your team through the tournament. However, TST’s for England, Brazil, Argentina, Australia, Republic of Ireland and Holland have already sold out.
Tickets are priced from $20 for the cheapest seat at a group game to $900 for the best seat at the final meaning there is something for every wallet, big or small.
So remember to put December 5 in your diary so you can book a ticket to see the greatest show on Earth.
