Real Madrid prepare for Barca test
November 23rd, 2009 by Gregory Jones
This coming weekend sees one of the world’s greatest derbies in football take place; El Clasico. On Sunday, the current La Liga leaders, Real Madrid, travel to the Catalan capital to take on their fierce rivals, Barcelona, at the Nou Camp.
Following Real Madrid’s win against Racing Santander over the weekend, the Galacticos will no doubt be in a confident mood. Barcelona only managed a draw 1-1 at Bilbao.
Before next weekend’s El Clasico, both sides will be playing in the Champions League. Barcelona entertain Inter Milan at the Nou Camp, while Real Madrid take on FC Zurich at the Santiago Bernabeu. The two sides need to win their respective games and can’t afford to rest their top players ahead of Sunday’s derby.
Barcelona are fortunate to be without many injury concerns and Xavi, Andres Iniesta and Lionel Messi should all be fit for Sunday’s encounter. Most of Real Madrid’s Galacticos should be fit, however, former Manchester United star, Cristiano Ronaldo, is unlikely to return from injury before Sunday’s match. Ronaldo has now been out of action for nine weeks, and despite having returned to full training at the end of last week, he is not expected to feature in next Sunday’s match. That said, Real Madrid have refused to rule Cristiano Ronaldo out.
With this weekend’s El Clasico only days away, Tixdaq can confirm that Barcelona v Real Madrid tickets are still available. This is a very rare opportunity to see two of Europe’s greatest sides go head-to-head in what will no doubt be a fantastic match.
