Arsenal dumped out of Carling Cup by City
December 3rd, 2009 by Gregory Jones
Last night, Manchester City beat Arsenal 3-0 at the City of Manchester Stadium to book their place in the semi-finals of the Carling Cup.
Goals from Carlos Tevez, Shaun Wright-Phillips and Vladimir Weiss in the second half guaranteed Manchester City a place in the 2009-2010 Carling Cup semi-finals.
Manchester City dominated the game and could have easily been a goal up through Craig Bellamy in the first half. Arsenal had a couple of chances, but once Carlos Tevez and Shaun Wright-Phillips had put City two goals ahead, the game was as good as finished.
Manchester City will play their fierce local rivals, Manchester United, in what will no doubt be a classic Carling Cup semi-final encounter.
The other semi-final sees Blackburn take on Aston Villa.
