Interest in World Cup tickets still growing

Ticket applications for the latest sales window for the FIFA World Cup in South Africa have surpassed 500,000.

The third ticketing phase opened on December 5th the day after the draw for the group stages was made in Cape Town and the response from fans all over the world has been remarkable.

The majority of applications (77%) have been received from those living in South Africa though many tickets have been requested from the USA and the UK.

The 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa kicks off on June 11th.
