London’s O2 Arena has been named the world’s most popular music venue for the second successive year. The venue in Greenwich sold an impressive 2,349,252 tickets throughout 2009, blowing its own record of 1,806,447 in 2008 out of the water.
David Campbell, president and chief executive of O2 owner AEG Europe, told Gigswise.com: ‘These results really are quite amazing… London deserves a world class entertainment destination and we will keep working hard in the next decade to ensure we remain a world leader.’
2010 looks set to be another record-breaking year for the O2 Arena as the likes of Rihanna, Whitney Houston, Westlife and the Black Eyed Peas get set to perform. Tickets for every single one of these gigs will be available through tixdaq.com, but be sure to act fast to grab tickets for the popular venue.
