Green Day picked up a Grammy for Best Rock Album at the 52nd awards ceremony in LA last night. Frontman Billie Joe Armstrong hailed this moment in their career when he took to the stage: ‘I have to say that this is the sweetest time …  putting out 21st Century Breakdown and getting recognized for it and all the success that it’s had, it feels really great.’

Green Day are set to return to the UK later this year. The US punk-rockers are set to play two massive shows this coming summer in Manchester and London. Green Day will perform at the Lancashire County Cricket Club on June 16 followed by Wembley Stadium on June 19.
