With the tie sitting in between a tough away fixture against Everton this weekend and the Carling Cup Final the following weekend, Sir Alex Ferguson may be hoping to rest a couple of his stars. Nevertheless, this is shaping up to be another crucial tie in the race for this year’s Premiership title.

Meanwhile, West Ham are languishing at the opposite end of the table and will be hoping to take at least a point away from Old Trafford. With the likes of Scott Parker and Carlton Cole among their ranks, they possess the talent to spring a surprise – particularly if Ferguson does name a weakened team – so the Red Devils will have to be at their best to pick up another vital three points.
