Wales boss Gatland wants improved performance against France

February 23rd, 2010 by Gregory Jones

After being overshadowed by the Scotland back row for much of their last game before their incredible comeback at the death, Wales coach Warren Gatland has demanded better displays from his team, singling out Martyn Jones and Ryan Williams. Gatland knows that if Wales were to beat France they would be equal with them on points, although France’s have a better point difference. After a poor start to their Six Nations Championship with a loss against England, followed by the last-gasp win over Scotland that many expected them to dominate, Wales will be looking to get back on track against a confident French team – one of the only two unbeaten sides in the tournament. They will hope that the roar of the Welsh home crowd at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff will spur them on to victory.
