Ian Brown to headline homecoming gig at Platt Fields Park
March 3rd, 2010 by Ewan Eyre
It has been announced that former Stone Roses front man Ian Brown is to top the bill in front of a 15’000 strong crowd at Platt Fields Park on June 11th. The legendary Mancunian is to return to his native city to perform for the first time since his sell-out tour last December.
The gig is being organised by the Warehouse Project nightclub in order to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the park and a strong line-up has been confirmed. Brown will be supported by Oldham group The Whip, as well as Bad Lieutenants and cult band A Certain Ratio. In what looks to be an extremely exciting event, there will also be DJ sets from the likes of Peter Hook, Mike Pickering and Unkle.
Brown is set to perform tracks from the six albums he has produced since his split with the Stone Roses, including his most recent album, My Way.
Tickets for the event go on sale tomorrow, 5th March at 9am, and are sure to sell fast, so keep an eye on Tixdaq.com to compare prices and make sure you don’t miss out on what looks to be an amazing party in the park!
