Ferguson wary of Arsenal in Premier League run-in

March 4th, 2010 by Ewan Eyre

Sir Alex Ferguson believes that Arsenal are genuine contenders for this season’s Premier League crown. The Manchester United manager sees his side lie second in the table, just one point behind leaders Chelsea, with Arsenal only three points adrift in third.

Ferguson claims that on paper, Arsenal have the easier fixtures for the remainder of the season, and this could work in their favour with United and Chelsea still yet to face each other.

Speaking on his club’s official website, Ferguson seemed very wary of the threat that Arsenal pose.  “Arsenal are bang in the frame now. They have the easiest programme on paper and it will be an interesting run-in. Chelsea losing (to Manchester City) was a good result for us, but there are a lot of hard games left. You have to focus at the turn of the year and make sure you don’t make mistakes.”

Tickets are still available for Arsenal’s remaining Premier League fixtures, and this season’s run-in is shaping up to be one of the most exciting we have seen for many years.
