The National reveal new album release date

March 16th, 2010 by Adam Davies

New York band The National have announced details of their forthcoming fifth LP. The album will be called High Violet, and is due for release in the UK on May 10th, with the rest of the world following a day later. After the band’s fanbase grew dramatically with third and fourth albums Alligator and Boxer, High Violet is hotly anticipated by thousands, and the band are playing bigger venues than ever before, with harder rocking songs to fill them. The National played album opener Terrible Love on US TV on Wednesday evening, and it went down a treat. If the rest of the album is as good, we could have something very special on our hands.

The National will play a select few dates this summer – full details of which are listed below:

Royal Albert Hall, London – May 6th 2010
Radio City Music Hall, New York, USA – May 16th 2010
Latitude Festival – July 16th 2010
