After the first practice sessionat the Spanish Grand Prix there looks is encouraging news for many of the Formula One drivers ahead of the Sunday’s race.
McLaren’s new aerodynamic package has aided both of their drivers with particularly Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button recorded the two fastest lap times.
The Mercedes changes also appear to be a success with veteran Michael Schumacher a very close third.
Coming in fourth and fifth were Red Bull duo Mark Webber and Sebastian Vettel respectively who will hope to continue their impressive record in qualifying on Saturday.
The Spanish Grand Prix is a hugely difficult track to overtake on, and has been won by the driver on pole in each of the last nine seasons, so teams will be leaving it all out on the track in Q1, Q2 and Q3.
After Catalunya, the iconic Monaco Grand Prix is next on the calendar just a week after the Spanish Grand Prix. Teams will hope the tweeks they have introduced for this weekend will prove worthwhile ahead of the most glamorous race of the F1 season
