Sir Paul McCartney closed the Isle of Wight Festival last night with a thrilling career-spanning set, which included a tribute to Jimi Hendrix, on the 40th anniversary of his legendary performance at the event.
McCartney treated 55,000 festival goers to songs from his own solo career, as well as Beatles classics as he brought the weekend to an end. The Strokes and Jay-Z had headlined the previous days.
Paul McCartney tickets are still available for his own headline shows at Hampden Park in Glasgow on Sunday 20th June and Cardiff Millennium Stadium on Saturday 26th June. He will also perform at Hyde Park as part of Hard Rock Calling Festival on Sunday 27th June.
