Andy Murray takes on Jo-Wilfried Tsonga on Centre Court at Wimbledon today, and will have a tough task indeed to progress to a semi-final against either Rafael Nadal or Robin Soderling.

Tsonga’s aggressive and powerful style enables him to hit winners from all over the court, and seems perfectly suited to grass. In most of Murray’s recent Grand Slam exits he has been blown off the court by powerful players hitting the ball with tremendous accuracy.

However, the Frenchman’s form can be erratic, and should Murray be able to frustrate him with his excellent variety of spin and pace, he could emerge victorious.

Still, Britain’s number one player is in exceptional form and will be confident, but could at least drop his first set of the tournament.

Rafael Nadal plays Robin Soderling on Court One today, and it could be a tense encounter. In 2007 the two played a lengthy match during which Soderling mocked Nadal’s habit of picking at his shorts, and the Spaniard won an ill-tempered affair. Last year, Soderling became the only player to have defeated Nadal at the French Open, and he is hitting the ball as well as anybody at Wimbledon.

It is an interesting match, and one that is extremely difficult to call. It is therefore clear why Wimbledon tickets are so sought after, and some Centre Court and Court One debenture tickets are yet to be sold.
