LCD Soundsystem tickets: joint UK tour live with Hot Chip on sale Friday
July 22nd, 2010 by Adam Davies
LCD Soundsystem’s James Murphy is about to put on a smoking jacket, sit down in a battered armchair and light up a pipe, before beginning a lecture on how things were more difficult in the good old days.
This may not actually be true. Instead it was a rather laboured way of saying that his time as an international rock star is coming to a close. Of course, there is a fair chance that he will continue to work in the world of production with the DFA, but as a live performer and recording artist, he is eyeing up the retirement home.
Whether the fans are ready for him to let go is another matter.
In fact, LCD Soundsystem are more popular than ever. In 2010, Murphy and co. played a massive UK tour, delighted a huge Glastonbury crowd, and headlined Wireless Festival. They will play to thousands more fans at Reading Festival, Leeds Festival and Bestival on the Isle Of Wight.
Still, such is the band’s following these days that they have had to announce another UK tour – which they will co-headline with UK dance act Hot Chip – and LCD Soundsystem tickets go on sale on Friday (July 23rd 2010) for the following dates:
November 10th 2010 – London Alexandra Palace
November 12th 2010 – Cardiff International Arena
November 13th 2010 – Sheffield Magna Arena
November 15th 2010 – Manchester Apollo
Some pre-sale tickets are available to a lucky few though…

Gosh why would they retire now!??!?!?! Everyone loves LCD SOundsystem! This has ruined my day! But I’m glad I’ll get to see them, never even heard of the magna arena tho.
