Martin Johnson demands improvement despite win
March 14th, 2011 by James Barnes
England coach Martin Johnson has urged his players to improve their performance if they are to beat Ireland in Dublin on Saturday to seal a Six Nations Grand Slam.
England laboured to victory 22-16 against Scotland at Twickenham, and struggled to impose themselves on, what many perceived, weaker opponents.
A win against the Irish would guarantee a Grand Slam, which England have no achieved since John was captain in 2003.
Johnson said: “We’ve got lots to be better at. We know we can play a lot better than that.
“We’ll be in a fight (against Ireland) and we’ve got to make sure we are a bit smarter the next time we play.”
Ireland v England tickets are available now.
