The final 16 contestants in this year’s X Factor competition are set to perform their first live televised songs this weekend, as the competition reaches the elimination stage. The contestants were selected by the judges last week, with the first live show taking place on ITV this Saturday, October 8th.
In the Boys category, mentored by Take That’s Gary Barlow, Marcus Collins, Craig Colton, James Michael and Frankie Cocozza have been selected.
Kelly Rowland, looking after the Girls, opted for Janet Devlin, Amelia Lily, Misha Bryan and Sophie Habibis.
Tulisa, looking after the Groups, selected Nu Vibe, 2 Shoes and Rhythmix but chose to place Charlie Healy, the lead singer of rejected band The Keys, through as part of rival boyband The Risk.
Louis decided on Kitty Brucknell, Johnny Robinson, Jonjo Kerr and Goldie Cheung. However, Goldie later dropped out of the competition and was replaced by Samantha Brookes.
The final 8 contestants will be likely to be selected for next year’s live tour. X Factor tickets are on sale now for shows running throughout March and April 2012.
