Lady Gaga talks of her new video

Lady Gaga has revealed details of her forthcoming video for the fourth single from Born This Way which will be You And I.

Speaking to radio station Channel 94.1 she commented, “The premise of the video is that I’ve walked all the way from New York City to Nebraska to get [my boyfriend] back. I’m walking with no luggage, it’s just me and my ankles are kind of bleeding a little bit and there’s grass stuck in my shoes and I’ve got this outfit on – it’s real New York sort of clothing as it’s wooly.”

Whatever the basis of the video is, it will sure to be some spectacle. Lady Gaga will also be playing at the IHeart Radio Music Festival in Las Vegas, alongside the likes of Alicia Keys and Coldplay.

Katy B: I was brought up on Destiny’s Child

Katy B has revealed her music tatse as a youngster, years before she made the big time herself.

Discussing her early listening tastes, the 21-year-old said: “I was brought up on female vocalists like Destiny’s Child, then I moved onto Faith Evans and Alicia Keys. I started stealing Alicia’s chord sequences and melodies.”

Katy, real name Kathleen Brien, reached number 2 in the charts with her dubstep-influenced debut album On A Mission earlier this month. She believes her record was released at just the right time.

“The charts are really embracing UK underground music now. Previously it was all guitar bands. Now that artists like Chase & Status and Magnetic Man are coming through, it’s the right time for a more rootsy sound.”

Katy B embarks on a tour of the U.K in April, before taking a break for the summer and going on a lrger scale tour of the U.K in the Autumn.

Alicia Keys announces one-off Albert Hall gig

Alicia Keys has announced that she’ll be playing a one-off gig at the Royal Albert Hall on 13 June.

The singer will perform alone, accompanied only by her piano, in a special concert to mark the 10th anniversary since the release of Grammy Award-winning Songs In A Minor.

“It’s incredible that I’ve been able to make it 10 years and here we are celebrating that”, said Keys in a recent interview. “London is so good to me. I want to show my gratitude.”

Keys will be releasing a deluxe edition of Songs In A Minor, along with 10 new tracks which she wrote at the time.

Aiden Grimshaw added back on to X Factor Tour

Aiden Grimshaw has been added back onto the bill of the upcoming X Factor tour, which begins in 2011. Massive public demand has led to Aiden joining the 8 remaining contestants to perform in the touring show set to play all across the UK next year. Although Aiden was knocked out of the X Factor competition last weekend, his popularity means that he will be able to continue performing for his fans. The eight remaining contestants, Katie Waissel, Matt Cardle, One Direction, Paije Richardson, Mary Byrne, Rebecca Ferguson, Cher Lloyd and the infamous Wagner, are all on the bill, and will be hitting the stage at arenas up and down the country from February 2011.

The show this weekend will see another contestant leave, and the public are waiting to see if there are more upsets and controversy. The contestants will be performing classic hits by the Beatles, and on the Sunday results show there will be performances by Alicia Keys and Olly Murs, as well as the final 16 X Factor stars with a special performance of this years charity single “Heroes”.

X Factor contestants set to take on The Beatles

It has been reported today that, following the Beatles step into the digital world, hit songs by the Fab Four will be performed by X Factor contestants this weekend. Sir Paul McCartney and Ringo Starr ended a lengthy boycott of iTunes on Tuesday by releasing the rights for the Beatles back catalogue to be sold on the online music distribution service. With three of the original boyband’s albums already in the top 10 downloads, the X Factor effect will surely push the Beatles to the top of the charts.

Contestants from the show will apparently be performing hits such as Let It Be, Hey Jude and Yesterday, along with other classics from the Liverpudlian Superstars’ back catalogue.

The remaining 8 contestants; One Direction, Wagner, Cher Lloyd, Matt Cardle, Rebecca Ferguson, Katie Waissel, Mary Byrne and Paije Richardson, will choose their favourite from the well-known and classic hits by the Beatles in an attempt to impress the judges. On Sunday hit singer Alicia Keys and former contestant Olly Murs will perform, while the final 16 contestants will also perform this year’s charity single “Heroes”.

Any memorable performances will more than likely be repeated on the X Factor Live 2011 Tour, which begins in February and visits all the top venues in the country, including Birmingham LG Arena, London Wembley Arena, Liverpool Echo Arena, Manchester MEN Arena, Glasgow SECC and Cardiff International Arena.

Alicia Keys to perform on X Factor ahead of single release

Alicia Keys will perform her latest single on this week’s X Factor results show. The American singer will play Wait Till You See My Smile to the live audience, and will be joined on the line-up by former X Factor contestant Olly Murs, as well as all 16 competition finalists, who will perform their charity single, Heroes.

There are now eight remaining contestants in this year’s X Factor competition, all of which have been confirmed for next year’s live UK tour.

The X Factor Live Tour 2011 will begin in February, and stop off at all of the UK’s top arenas, including Birmingham LG Arena, London Wembley Arena, Liverpool Echo Arena, Manchester MEN Arena, Glasgow SECC and Cardiff International Arena.
