Adele, Justin Bieber and 30 Seconds To Mars are each shortlisted for three awards, whilst on the back of the announcement of a December 2011 Coldplay UK tour, the band have been nominated for best UK and Ireland act.

The 18th Annual MTV EMA’s will take place at Belfast’s Odyssey Arena on November 6th, with the ceremony set to be broadcast live on MTV.

The hit indie band were to tour the US, Europe and Japan this year, but frontman Young must have a further operation on his throat in a bid to correct the problems that have plagued him for the last year. In a statement on the band’s official website, he said: “Unfortunately, the doctor has now confirmed that, this week, he will be operating on my throat for a third time this year. It was the wait for this decision, and no other reason, that meant we were able to complete commitments over this last week and why we will not be able to complete those in the coming weeks. This allows me to have eight weeks of the best vocal therapy available, allowing the best possible chance of complete recovery.”

Whilst their shows in September and October will be affected, it is currently believed that their November shows supporting Arctic Monkeys will still go ahead.

The Vaccines tour dates will be updated when rescheduled.

Guitarist Freddie Cowan commented, “We don’t generally write on the road. We’ve got some time off coming up. But I couldn’t even tell you about the new album because we haven’t thought about it yet.” However Bassist Arni Hjörvar added: “We haven’t thought about it but it’s on our minds. We’re aware that the normal way to do it is to release another record at some point. And that that will involve some writing.”

The band released their debut album, What Did You Expect From The Vaccines?” in March of this year but it seems that the sequel may be a while off yet. The band will be heading out on tour in support of Arctic Monkeys this Autumn.

Lead singer Alex Turner told The Sun, “I don’t really write on the road any more. We come up with a few ideas on soundchecks and that but I have written too many terrible lyrics touring around. As yet there is no plan to return to the studio next year, we’re keeping our heads down.”

He went on to add, “It’s hard to do the old chip shop rock’n'roll. After you’ve done it once, you don’t sort of hang around that many chippies any more. I think it’s natural, I couldn’t ever write about my surroundings in the same way as I did back then.”

So it appears as though Arctic Monkeys will not return to the studio until at least 2013. They will however be heading out on an extensive tour of the UK this Autumn.

The festival will take place at Weston Park, Staffordshire and Hylands Park, Chelmsford on August 18th and 19th 2012. 4. The Wombats- Hailing from Liverpool The Wombats are acclaimed for writing catchy pop songs and they have a live show which is not to be missed. He went on to speak about pop music as a whole and commented, “Yeah, that’s the thing when you talk about pop music dominating. It’s not like it’s all s*it and we’re dead against it. That’s not the case at all, because there are some great pop songs.”

He went on to comment how he was not a fan of Lady Gaga, despite it being reported that he was. He added “But no, Lady GaGa – it’s not my cup of tea, that.”

The shows were all set for this August, and were scrapped following doctor’s orders of immediate vocal rest. The frontman said in a statement: “It is with the heaviest of hearts that we have to announce the cancellation of our performances in Holland, Austria and Northern Ireland this week due to a continuing issue with my vocal chords.”

The sister of Kate, Pippa has gained worldwide fame for her good looks and dress on the day of the Royal Wedding. Rumour has it that she will be backstage at this year’s V Festival watching acts such as Eminem, the Arctic Monkeys and Rihanna perform.

The fire was started as part of the ongoing riots in the capital, and much of the warehouse, owned by Sony, was gutted. The building was used by PIAS Distribution, which distributes for Arctic Monkeys’ label Domino and other independents. The band’s new single, The Hellcat Spangled Shalalala, is due to be released on August 15th. However, due to the fire and loss of stock, only limited quantities will be made available.

Domino said in a statement: “While relieved that no one was injured in the incident, we’re upset about the loss and destruction of our stock, and thinking of our friends at other independent labels who were also affected by the fire. We are currently working hard with Sony DADC to maintain our release schedule and keep business going as usual.”

Music News Daily has reported that the two stars will be working together on a track for Christina’s new record. It is also rumoured that the Beautiful singer will be working with Cee Lo Green on the new album.

The sun reports that a source close to the band stated, ‘‘The boys’ four-album deal is nearly finished and their management are ready to meet labels who fancy picking them up. Signing the Arctics would be a huge coup for anyone right now, because they are guaranteed to sell huge numbers.’’

Since then, we have seen a return to form from the Arctic Monkeys while his close friend Miles Kane has launched a successful solo career. Now however, Miles Kane has hinted in a recent interview that the pair may get back together and make a follow up to Last of the Shadow Puppets.

Speaking to Gigwise, Miles Kane told “Yeah we’re always talking about it. It’s just one of them things really. We were both talking about it the other day, around how we could work it. At the moment it’s hard as we both have stuff out and tours coming up.”

“But for me I think I’d just like to do a second album relatively quickly and I’m sure if we were to do a second Last Shadow Puppets album then that would come soon after.”

The first album was recorded in very quick time and now we could all be shocked by a fast follow up from The Last of the Shadow Puppets it seems. Miles Kane will be playing at this year’s Reading and Leeds Festivals before going on to play his own headline tour this Autumn.

In an interview with the Daily Star, Fazer said, “My album is going to do what Timbaland did. I’m in the studio this week with Katy Perry and there’s a couple of megastars coming up too.”

He went on to say “Thanks to good management the Katy Perry session came about. I’m like someone who can tailor suits, so I’ll measure her up but better anything she’s done in the past.”

He also responded to rumours that N-Dubz will split up due to Tulisa’s role as an X Factor show for the forthcoming series.

Razorlight have not made an album since Slipway Fires in 2008 and since then the band have lost all other original member expect for Johnny Borrell. The new songs played indicate that they may release an album very shortly.

Lead-singer Justin Young told Newsbeat that, “People think because indie music or good music isn’t in the charts it’s struggling, but I don’t think the charts are relevant anymore.”

The Vaccines were hyped up to be the next big thing, and many drew parallels with the start of the Arctic Monkeys career, but Young has revealed the difficulty in hype building in the current world of music.

“At the turn of the year you get all those things when people hype stuff up and they predict and stuff. You’re always kind of building your house on sand with that kind of thing and I think we all were a bit worried.”

The pop princess still trails behind Eminem who has an astonishing 43 million Facebook likes. Rihanna has a lowly 40 million likes which demonstrates the extraordinary extent of her global popularity.

On the same subject of social network mass following, the news of Rihanna’s progress comes in the same week that Justin Bieber surpassed the 11 million twitter followers mark.

It seems the world can’t get enough of these celebrities at the moment.

Rihanna is down to play this year’s V Festival alongside artists including Eminem, the Arctic Monkeys and Eminem.

The shows at Nottingham’s Capital FM Arena on October 28th, and London’s O2 Arena on October 29th and 30th have received extra ticket allowances, due to the incredible demant for tickets.

Support comes from The Vaccines – who have recently had to add more dates to their own tour due to high demand – and Smith Westerns.

The festival, which takes place in Balado, near Kinross, Scotland, will run from Friday July 6th to Sunday July 8th. T In The Park is renowned for incredible line-ups, and 2012 should be no different. This year saw Arctic Monkeys, Coldplay and Foo Fighters headline, with appearances from Beyonce, Pulp, The Strokes, Pendulum, Primal Scream and 2 Many DJs, to name but a few.

Sheeran has had a remarkable career so far, playing thousands of tiny shows and coach surfing his way to success. From these all too humble beginnings he has now broken through with the release of The A Team, which achieved unprecedented heights in the charts for such a newcomer.

However, it seems that Sheeran is bound for further dimensions of greatness as his EP of collaborations has now reached number 2 in the I Tunes album chart and is chasing down Rihanna’s album, Loud, which currently lies at number 1.

The EP sees Sheeran combine forces with the likes of Devlin and Wiley, bringing together his brand of hip-hop and folk with these urban acts to great effect.

Sheeran has just signed with the huge record label, Atlantic and is now off on tour throughout the Summer, playing at such venues as the O2 Academy Oxford, O2 Shepherds Bush Empire and Rock City Nottingham.

It was once again another triumphant weekend at this year’s Oxegen Festival in Punchestown Ireland.

This year’s headliners were The Black Eyed Peas, The Foo Fighters and Coldplay. It seems that all the headliners this year delivered suitable sets of gigantic performances to the delight of the Irish crowd. The Festival itself was ended in true Irish fashion with a great Oxegen moment, as Christy Moore came on stage with Coldplay to perform Ride On which evoked a mammoth singalong from the masses.

The acts on display this year represented a much more equal balance between pop and rock, featuring the likes of Ke$ha, The Black Eyed Peas and Beyonce mixed with the usual suspects of The Strokes, The Arctic Monkeys and The Foo Fighters. The balance however seemed to go down very well, catering for everyone’s musical tastes and providing great music all round.

The Strokes, who many argue are the band that single-handedly saved indie, performed a classic set on the Friday of Oxegen and are also down to headline this year’s Reading and Leeds Festivals.

Calvin Harris is one of Britain’s surprise success stories of the last few years with his electro-pop sound. With hits such as Acceptable in the 80s, The Girls and I’m Not Alone he is sure to provide a lively and dance fuelled set to V Festival goers later this August.

Also on the bill for this year’s V Festival are The Kaiser Chiefs, The Arctic Monkeys, Eminem and Dizzie Rascal.

The Sheffield four piece played songs such as single Don’t Sit Down ‘Cause I’ve Moved Your Chair and Brick By Brick from the album Suck It And See. While only playing two songs from 2009′s Humbug, the band played plenty from their first two albums – 2006′s Whatever People Say I Am, That’s What I’m Not and 2007′s Favourite Worst Nightmare.

The band will go on tour in the autumn, support by The Vaccines and Smith Westerns.

The Chicago-based three-piece will join The Vaccines as openers before the Sheffield indie-rockers take to the stage at arenas across the country. Smith Westerns will release new single End Of The Night from recent album Dye It Blonde on August 29th, just after they play the Festival Republic Stage at Reading and Leeds Festivals.

Duran Duran were forced to pull out of the festival due to singer Simon Le Bon contracting laryngitis, which also caused them to cancel or reschedule most of their European tour. The band were due to headline The Arena stage, the third biggest stage of the festival.

Last night (June 5th), the official V Festival twitter, @vfestival, posted a message saying: “Duran Duran are no longer playing at V Festival, replacement artist to be announced tomorrow on vfestival.com.” Updates will follow with the revised line-up.

V Festival sees headline performances from Eminem and Arctic Monkeys, with Rihanna, Plan B, The Script, Kaiser Chiefs, Pendulum and Dizzee Rascal all set to appear.
