Eliza Doolittle has no plans to act

The singer, who had a top 5 hit with ‘Pack Up’ in 2010, refuses to pursue an acting career despite her grandmother being Sylvia Young, founder of the famous Sylvia Young Stage School, and both her parents being prominent figures in British theatre.

The singer, who bas born Eliza Caird, said “I always loved singing. I was always trying to sing in school plays. I was in every one I could be in,” she told the Daily Record. I always liked acting in school and drama classes but when people asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, I always told them I wanted to be a singer”.

She went on to say “I didn’t want to be a jack of all trades. I wanted to master one.”

The star recently revealed that she is planning to work with Tinie Tempah on a duet soon. The pair met at the BRIT Awards and plan to work together soon.

Tinie Tempah Begins UK Tour With BRIT Award Boost

Tinie Tempah is about to set off on his UK tour dates, and will be boosted by his double win at last night’s BRIT Awards.

The rapper performed a live medley of Written In The Stars, Miami 2 Ibiza and Pass Out, and the latter won the gong for Best British Single.

Tinie Tempah also collected the Best British Breakthrough act in recognition for his rapid rise to fame in 2010, and great things are expected from him in 2011.

Tinie Tempah tickets are available now for all his concerts, including a date at the Royal Albert Hall for Teenage Cancer Trust.

Take That announce appearance on Brit Awards, as more tickets go on sale

Take That will appear on next years Brit Awards. They previously appeared on the show in their original line up just months before Robbie Williams left the band in 1995. Now in February 2011 they return, on the back of a best selling album in 2010 and ahead of a huge summer tour.

Take That tickets went on sale this morning for extra dates in Sunderland, Manchester and London as part of their “Progress” tour in 2011. The tour sold out in minutes, but tickets are available to compare and buy online now, including tickets for the previously released dates.

Jay-Z: record labels need to be ‘smarter’

Jay-Z has offered his advice to the music industry, saying that record labels need to be ‘smarter’ in order to survive the new digital age. Jay-Z, who was named Best International Male at the BRIT Awards, told BBC’s Newsbeat that less equals more when it comes to success: ‘Records are not selling as many as they were before… people have to be smarter about how they A and R, and what they put out, record companies need to catch up to that, someone needs to send them the memo.’

Jay-Z is set for a UK tour this summer. Jay-Z kicks off the tour with a show at MEN Arena from June 7, before also playing live at Birmingham LG Arena on June 9. The final Jay-Z date on the mini tour will take place at London’s Hyde Park on July 4 as part of the 2010 Wireless Festival.

N-Dubz dress down for BRIT Awards

N-Dubz star Tulisa has revealed that she wore a cheap pair of earrings from high street chain Argos when she attended the BRIT Awards on Tuesday night. The singer revealed she wanted to avoid the usual glitz of wearing designer gear at the Earl’s Court bash. She told The Sun: ‘I’m wearing Argos earrings, £5.99, thank you Argos. You’d never know.’

Kasabian and Calvin Harris to play post-BRITS charity gig

It has recenty been revealed that Kasabian and Calvin harris will join La Roux at this month’s post-BRIT Awards charity concert.

The concert is set to take place after the 2010 BRIT Awards on February , and Tixdaq can confirm that Kasabian and Calvin Harris will be joining La Roux as well as some very special guests at the O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire following the BRIT Awards ceremony.

The event has been set by the War Child charity for the second year running. Last year’s post-BRIT Awards concert featrued performances from The Killers, Coldplay and Gary Barlow. War Child will be receiving support from O2 who sponsor the venue. All of the money raised will go towards helping children living in war zones across the globe.

La Roux set for charity gig

La Roux are set to perform at London’s Shepherds Bush Empire for charity War Child next month. Held after the Brit Awards on February 16th, the annual event follows in the footsteps of last year’s concert at the Shepherds Bush Empire, which featured performances from The Killers, Coldplay, U2′s Bono and Gary Barlow.

Dara O’Briain to host video game BAFTAs

Comedian Dara O’Briain has been confirmed as host of the 2010 British Academy Video Game Awards. The Mock the Week presenter is an avid video-gamer and successfully presented the awards last year. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, Assassin’s Creed II and Unchartered 2: Among Thieves are all rumoured to be in line for gongs at gaming’s most prestigious awards ceremony.

Dara O’Briain is currently touring the UK with his latest stand-up routine. Dara has a number of dates lined up in Dublin throughout February, before visits to a number of top venues across the UK, including a six-night stint at London’s HMV Apollo in September.

JLS planning special BRIT performance

JLS have revealed that they have got something rather special planned for their live performance at next month’s BRIT Awards.

X-Factor boyband JLS have been nominated for three awards at the 2010 BRIT Awards: Best British Group, Best British Breakthrough Act and Best British Single.

JLS have confirmed that they would love to win an award but are focusing their attention on the live performance. One of the JLS band members told the Daily Star that fans should expect to see lots of stunts during the live performace at the BRIT Awards ceremony that will take place in February.

Fans who are not lucky enough to see the band perform at the BRIT Awards in London next month will be able to catch the X-Factor boy band live on their UK tour.

Lady GaGa will be aiming for a hat-trick at the 2010 BRIT Awards next month. She is one of five artists up for three gongs including Lily Allen, JLS and Florence & the Machine. Lady GaGa is nominated in the following categories for the event on Feb 16 in Earl’s Court: Best International Female Solo Artist, Best International Breakthrough Act and Best International Album.

Ellie Goulding confirms tour details

Ellie Goulding, one of the artists tipped to make it in 2010, has recently revealed details of her debut album. The British singer, who is set to pick up the Critics’ Choice Award at next month’s Brit Awards ceremony, has confirmed that the album will be released on March 1.

Before releasing the album, it is reported that Ellie Goulding will release the single ‘Starry Eyed’ on February 22.
