The tour will begin at Belfast Odyssey Arena on 20th April, before stopping off at Dublin O2 Arena, Liverpool Echo Arena, Manchester MEN Arena, Birmingham LG Arena and London O2 Arena.

The collective are set to perform hit singles from both band’s hugely successful careers, including the Backstreet Boys’ singles such as ‘Everybody’ and ‘As Long As You Love Me,’ as well as New Kids On The Block’s ‘Step By Step’ and ‘Tonight.’

The group have recently toured the US, with manager Jared Paul now on the verge of revealing UK and European dates to fans.

The tour looks set to go ahead in Spring 2012, with Paul suggesting on Twitter that live shows be exclusive to major UK cities, posting, “prob not as many regional dates but yes not just london, manchester, bham, etc. Working on routing, its changed ten times. I want the best venues on the best nites fo u all.”

NKOTBSB tickets could go on sale as early as the end of next week.

“It stands out from a lot of records,” Macfarlane told BBC Newsbeat. “It’s what 2011 needs. It needs bright, uplifting, vibrant music. I felt in 2010 music was very black and white and the music was quite minimalist. Summer’s coming and people need to hear something uplifting.”

McFarlane described their new material as ‘NSYNC or Backstreet Boys but played with a breathless beat and weird guitar’, and added that the three-piece were initially unsure as to whether the tracks might have ventured too far into the world of pop.

“There were moments when we were recording where we were debating if it was sounding too poppy,” he said. “As things progressed I think that’s what I like most about this record. It sounds overtly sheeny and poppy to my ears. It’s really unashamed.”

The new album, entitled ‘Pala‘, will be released on May 16th.

The Backstreet Boys recently released their new album This Is Us and will be performing at major UK arenas in November.

The Backstreet Boys tour kicks off at the Newcastle Metro Radio Arena (November 3) and will also play at the Manchester Evening News Arena (November 4), Glasgow SECC and Clyde Auditorium (November 7), Birmingham LG Arena (November 8), Liverpool Echo Arena (November 9) and the London O2 Arena (November 10).

Despite the tour starting next week, fans can still grab their Backstreet Boys tickets if they haven’t done so already.
