The concerts will be formed by an evolving line up of band members past and present performing the classic albums Three Imaginary Boys, Seventeen Seconds and Faith.

The event is due to get underway this Thursday, 8th September, with performances from the likes of Pendulum, Bjork, The Cure, Primal Scream, PJ Harvey and Brian Wilson set top take place across the weekend.

Bad weather has hit the festival in previous years, most notably in 2009, but this has never prevented fans from enjoying the array of entertainment on offer.

Taking the prestigious slot on December 31st, the band are to play their 1991 album, Screamadelica, in full. The show offers fans a rare opportunity to see the band, whose only other UK appearance will be at Bestival this September. Previous artists who have performed at the event include Madness, Kasabian, Groove Armada, Blondie and Biffy Clyro.

Primal Scream tickets will go on sale this Thursday (September 1st).

The hit Australian-British dance-punk band revealed the decision whilst playing at V Festival this weekend. Whilst on stage, lead singer Ben Mount said to fans: “We want to thank everyone who has supported Pendulum over the last five years. We’re going to take next year off the make a new album and then we’ll be back in 2013. We look forward to seeing you all then.”

The next album, their fourth, will be the follow-up to hugely successful Immersion, which they have been touring since its May 2012 release. The band will play at London’s South West Four this Sunday, and Bestival in September.

The hit indie band will play at the festival, which takes place on the Isle of Wight, on Sunday, September 11th on the main stage. Before this, they will play intimate warm-up gigs at Newquay’s Lusty Glaze Beach on September 8th, and Exeter’s Phoenix Arts Centre on September 9th. The tour comes after Marling will perform at a handful of Summer festivals including Camp Bestival and the acclaimed singer songwriter will release her third studio album, A Creature I Don’t Know on September 12th. Tickets for the forthcoming Marling tour go on sale this Friday.

A spokeswoman from the Met Office stated ”Tomorrow will see highs of around 18 degrees though it will feel cool in the wind. Temperatures will pick up on Sunday with highs of 22 degrees  though again in the breeze it will feel a bit cooler. The evenings are also looking dry with temps of around 11 degrees.”

This is good news for those Secret Garden Party goers who will also be able to see such acts as Blondie, Mystery Jets and Snow Club.

Hercules And Love Affair have previously collaborated with Antony Hegarty (from Antony and the Johnsons) and are an exciting alternative band from New York who are signed to DFA records.

Santigol, also hailing from New York she is a very talented urban artist who has recently featured on the new Beastie Boys single. Her hits include Lights Out and Creator and she is known for writing hook filled hip-hop/funk dance floor fillers.

As well as both of these acts, Bestival’s Thursday night will also feature a wealth of DJs including Richard X, Arthur Baker and Mark Jones.

The singer songwriter will play Antrim’s Mandela Hall on November 2nd and Dublin’s Vicar Street on November 4th. The shows fall part of Ed Sheeran’s very extensive tour which plays many cities all across the UK.

The La’s are having quite a busy Summer as they played a surprise set in Manchester last month and will be playing several festivals this Summer including Bestival and Rock en Seine.

The band still are yet to release any new material since 1990, but still remained loved for hits such as There She Goes. However it seems uncertain as to whether or not any new material will ever be released from the band.

The singer has been given odds of 2/1 to win – just two hours after she was named 6/1 joint favourite with Adele. Harvey’s eighth album, Let England Shake, is one of the twelve albums announced yesterday (July 19th) for the prestigious award. The app project entitled Biophillia looks at the connections music has between the universe and technology. In essence the app combines music from Bjork’s forthcoming album, also entitled Biophillia, with visuals of the universe in a very arty way.

The guitarist from the band Jimmy Smith stated that “We all have healthy drinking problems. Some of us have other problems on top of the drinking problem.”

The comments were very much jovial in tone and not serious reflections of their lifestyles but indicate that the Foals certainly are enjoying themselves whilst on tour.

The interview was ahead of their closing performance at Latitude Festival, which finished off the festival for 2011.

This year rain was expected to descend upon the festival and as promised mother nature delivered an obtrusive weekend of wet and windy conditions. Latitude goers did receive some welcome sunshine on the Friday, but as Saturday dawned the fields were transformed into the usual mass of mud.

However despite the conditions under foot and over head, it was another successful year for Latitude. Stand out performances came from The National, with their beautifully melancholy sound of heartbreaking music which was received very well.

Another highlight has to be that of Ed Sheeran who gave the crowds a great reason to cheer as the rain lashed down overhead, and girls screamed for the Leeds born singer-songwriter. Whilst Suede provided a great close to the festival on the Sunday night.

Thus it seemed the festival soldiered on in the rain and again succeeded in giving punters an amazing weekend of music and entertainment.

This year, the annual competition has been given the theme “Rock Stars, Pop Stars and Divas”, and New York disco legends Village People will be on hand to pick a winner. Festival organiser Rob da Bank said, “I can’t think of a more suitable act to judge this year’s Fancy Dress competition than the Village People! They practically invented the genres to put some effort in to wow the cowboy, impress the policeman or win over the Red Indian with your best Rock Star, Pop Star or Diva.”

Village People’s “construction worker” David Hodo said, “Village people dress up in costumes everytime we go on stage. It will be fun to judge other people who get dressed up also. We are so looking forward to being judges at the competition for Bestival 2011.”

The three day festival, which takes place from September 9th-11th, is headlined by Pendulum, The Cure and Bjork.

The Icelandic singer is set to play the headline slot on the Sunday night (September 11th) of the weekend. She joins headliners Pendulum (Friday 9th) and The Cure (Saturday 10th).

Bestival’s official blog reveals that her headline set will include “an award-winning Icelandic choir and will feature a range of specially conceived and crafted instruments, among them a bespoke pipe organ that accepts digital information, making it a sure fire guarantee that Bestivalites are in for a proper treat when it comes to this year’s closing set on the main stage.”

The New York band admitted the problems during an interview with Dirrtymusic.com, with singer Jonathan Pierce revealing: “We have faced trials. The guitarist left, there were a lot of shouting matches. Two weeks ago, we came very close to splitting. But that has nourished the album, I think.”

The band’s second album, Portamento, has yet to be given a release date. The band are set to play London’s Lovebox Weekender festival on July 16th, and Bestival in September.

This coming weekend (July 8th-10th) sees T In The Park descend into Balado, Scotland. Famous for its charged atmosphere and unique Scottish vibe, the three-day event once again has a world-class line-up. Latitude Festival arrives in Suffolk on July 15th, for three days of incredible music in one of the most relaxed festivals in the country. The weekend will see headline performances from The National (Friday 15th), Paolo Nutini (Saturday 16th) and Suede (Sunday 17th). The festival will take place this weekend in Newport, from 10th to 12th June, and is headlined by Kings of Leon, Foo Fighters and Kasabian. The band perform their 1990 LP in full at the HMV Forum in Kentish Town on September the 8th, as the latest gig presented by All Tomorrow’s Parties/Don’t Look Back. The album was conceived during the so called ‘golden age of hip hop’, preceding the legal limits and clearance costs later placed on sampling.

Public Enemy toured their 1988 release It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back across the world as part of the Don’t Look Back series in 2008.

More than seven hours of Bestival will be broadcast in September with performances from Pendulum, The Cure, Primal Scream and Public Enemy.

Organiser and Radio 1 DJ Rob da Bank said: “Bestival in 3D will be a mind-blowing explosion of colour and multidimensional music and mayhem. Having Camp Bestival too… means we’ve got a great summer of TV ahead.”

Two hours of action will be shown in 3D on each day of the festival, which takes place between 8-11 September at Robin Hill Country Park on the Isle of Wight.

Other acts confirmed for Bestival include Robyn, Crystal Castles, Magnetic Man, Katy B, DJ Shadow and Brian Wilson from The Beach Boys.

There will also be a 90-minute special after the festival finishes showing the main highlights. Bestival was voted best festival at the UK festival awards in 2010.

It’s also been announced the Isle of Wight festival will be shown in 3D on Sky. The festival in Seaclose Park in Newport, from 10 to 12 June is headlined by Kings of Leon, Foo Fighters and Kasabian.

Pendulum, James Blake and PJ Harvey will play the festival, curated by Rob Da Bank. Taking place from the 8th to the 11th of September, previous headliners at the Bestival include Massive Attack and The Flaming Lips.

The festival will also include DJ sets from Fatboy Slim and Radio 1′s Zane Lowe.

The event will take place in Dorset at Lulworth Castle on July 29th to 31st, will see the band  perform their legendary album Screamadelica on the Sunday night.

The band are also set to perform the definitive 90′s album across the UK this month. Primal Scream tickets are on sale now for shows running throughout March.

The group’s appearance at the festival, which takes place at Robin Hill Country Park from September 9-11, will be a UK exclusive.

Public Enemy join a bill already containing Primal Scream, The Cure, Robyn, Crystal Castles, DJ Shadow, Katy B and A Trak.

Beyonce will join other acts currently pencilled in to play the 2011 Glastonbury Festival once they have been officially confirmed. Acts rumoured to be joining the lineup include Coldplay, Arcade Fire and U2.

Fans will, of course, remember the 2008 Glastonbury Festival where Beyonce’s husband, Jay-z headlined and shocked the fans by playing the Oasis track ‘Wonderwall’.

Glastonbury 2011 takes place at Worthy Farm in Somerset from Wednesday 22nd  to Sunday 26th June.

Whilst Glastonbury tickets have completely sold out, Festival tickets for some of this summer’s top events including Reading, Leeds, V Festival, Wireless, Bestival and many more are available now.

Bestival will run from September 8th to 11th, and The Cure have been confirmed to perform on the Saturday night.

Acts confirmed include Dizzee Rascal and Hot Chip on Friday, The Flaming Lips and Roxy Music on Saturday, and The Prodigy on Sunday, plus Mumford & Sons, The Temper Trap, The xx, Fever Ray, Hot Chip, LCD Soundsystem, Gil Scott-Heron, Chase & Status, Echo and the Bunnymen, Simian Mobile Disco, Delphic, Rolf Harris, The Cuban Brothers and many more.

Although officially sold out from primary ticket vendors, Bestival weekend tickets start trading at £190 on the secondary ticket market, with the cheapest currently listed on fan-to-fan ticket exchange website Viagogo. Tickets are also available from vendors such as Seatwave, GetMeIn and eBay.

Soon that last sentence will be in the past tense, for LCD Soundsystem are retiring at the very top – like Justine Henin or Michael Jordan or Sir Fred Goodwin. Before Murphy and co depart though, they will say goodbye to their fans in the UK with seven more live performances.

The first three are at festivals. They will play Reading and Leeds festival between August 27th – 29th 2010, and Bestival on the Isle Of Wight on September 12th 2010, but the band will also embark on a UK tour in November – co-headlining with celebrated electronic band Hot Chip.
