isPermaLink="false">http://www.tixdaq.com/news/?p=25430</guid> <description><![CDATA[Biffy Clyro announce a festival warm-up UK show, scheduled for next month.]]></description> <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Scottish rockers, <strong>Biffy Clyro</strong> announced earlier today that they would be adding to their already scheduled festival slots, with a one-off headline performance of their own. Previously booked to play <strong>Download Festival</strong>, <strong>Rockness</strong> and <strong>Isle of Wight</strong> this summer, The Biff will also now perform their own show at Swindon’s <strong>Oasis Leisure Centre</strong> on the <strong>8th June</strong> as a warm up to the summer events.</p><p>The band also told of their plans for the folllow-up album to 2009&#8242;s <em>&#8216;Only Revolutions&#8217;</em>, saying that their new album will consist of two records called; <em>&#8216;The Land At The End Of Our Toes’</em> and <em>‘The Sand At The Core Of Our Bones’</em>. Speaking about the conecpt behind the release, Drummer Ben  Johnston told NME; &#8220;<em>We don&#8217;t want to pigeon hole it as a &#8216;big rock  album&#8217;, so we&#8217;re trying to make a diverse collection of songs&#8221;.</em></p><p>Tickets go on sale on Monday 14th May at 9am.</p><p>Compare and buy tickets for the event with Tixdaq.</p><p><a

They close the summer of live music that has hosted bands including The Vaccines, Biffy Clyro, Friendly Fires, Mark Ronson, Tinie Tempah, Dizzee Rascal and 2manydjs.</p><p>Speaking to NME about the gig, frontman Charlie Fink said: &#8220;It&#8217;s something different for us and to be honest I don&#8217;t really know what to expect, but we&#8217;re very excited. I&#8217;ve never been to Ibiza before so I&#8217;m not quite sure what&#8217;s going to happen. We&#8217;re going to do our festival set which we&#8217;ve done at all the others. It was one of the most beautiful things I&#8217;ve ever seen. Also appearing across the weekend on the Apollo (main) stage are Slayer, Megadeth, Weezer, You Me At Six, Limp Biscuit and Motorhead. isPermaLink="false">http://www.tixdaq.com/news/?p=20002</guid> <description><![CDATA[Glastonbury 2011 is almost here - check out the preview and watch the live stream here.]]></description> <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The world&#8217;s most famous festival, The Glastonbury Festival of Contemporary Performing Arts, kicks off tomorrow.</p><p>Featuring more than 700 acts across more than 30 stages, watched by more than 175,000 people, the festival is renowned worldwide for its great atmosphere and legendary performances.</p><p>This year&#8217;s Pyramid Stage headline performances come from U2 (Friday 24th), Coldplay (Saturday 25th) and Beyonce (Sunday 26th). Other acts on the infamous main stage include Morissey, Elbow, Laura Marling, Paolo Nutini and Biffy Clyro.</p><p>The Other Stage will be headlined by Primal Scream (Friday), The Chemical Brothers (Saturday) and Queens of the Stone Age (Sunday). Also playing the festival&#8217;s second stage will be Mumford &amp; Sons, White Lies, Kaiser Chiefs, TV on the Radio, Fleet Foxes and Bright Eyes.</p><p>The John Peel Stage will see DJ Shadow (Friday), Glasvegas (Saturday) and The Streets (Sunday) headline. Other acts playing the stage named in honour of the legendary Radio 1 DJ include The Coral, Battles, Robyn, Noah and the Whale and Warpaint.</p><p>The huge festival has been running on and off since 1970, and this year is sure to live up to expectations. The statement said, &#8220;We are more than proud to announce that we have just completed recording a full-length album with none other than the legendary Lou Reed.&#8221; They first hinted at this when earlier this year they were quoted as writing not for &#8220;a project that was 100% Metallica.&#8221; The heavy metal four-piece performed with Reed in an October 2009 gig at Madison Square Gardens, and have since been working with the singer &#8220;on and off over the last few months.&#8221;</p><p>No release date has been announced for the album.</p><p>Metallica are set to headline the Sonisphere from 7th-1oth July, with Slayer, Anthrax, Megadeth and Biffy Clyro also appearing.</p><p><strong><a

The festival started in 2007 and tickets are won through competitions or given free to customers using iTunes.</p><p>Manic Street Preachers will perform on July the 3rd. Paul Simon kicks off the month long festival, which will include performances from Beady Eye, Foo Fighters and Jessie J.</p><p>In previous years, the iTunes festival has featured performances from the likes of Oasis, Biffy Clyro and Scissor Sisters. Other names for the July bash are expected soon.</p><p><a

isPermaLink="false">http://www.tixdaq.com/news/?p=14562</guid> <description><![CDATA[Biffy Clyro have revealed that they have already written around 16 songs for their new album.]]></description> <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Biffy Clyro have revealed that they have already written around 16 songs for their new album.</p><p>Frontman Simon Neil told BBC 6 Music that most of the tracks had been written at home over the new year and recording will start after their current tour ends.</p><p><strong> </strong>The singer spoke about the style of the new material. Neil said: &#8220;We&#8217;re always  going to be a rock band, it&#8217;s always going to be heavy, but hopefully  just bring different elements, it&#8217;s going to sound like Biffy, it&#8217;s not  going to be a reggae record put it that way.&#8221;</p><p>Biffy Clyro&#8217;s last album &#8216;Only Revolutions&#8217; was released in 2009 and  nominated for the Mercury Prize. The band have yet to announce details  of a release date or title for their new album.</p><p>The band will play the Royal Albert Hall on March 23rd, and then support the Foo Fighters at the Milton Keynes Bowl on July 2nd and 3rd. Finally, Biffy Clyro will play at the Sonisphere Festival on the 9th of July.</p><p><a

The band played an epic set to a crowd of around 500 people at Dingwalls in Camden.</p><p>Dave Grohl and his band played their new album, Wasting Light, in its entirety, before treating fans to a &#8216;Greatest Hits&#8217; set which included songs such as Learn To Fly and Everlong.</p><p>&#8220;This is not an arena rock show,&#8221; Grohl announced upon taking to the stage. &#8220;This is something different. This would rule out Linkin park and System of a down (Download festival), Foo fighters and Blink 182 (T in the park), Slipknot, Biffy Clyro and Metallica (Sonisphere), Kasabian and King of Leon (Isle of Wight). Heavy Metal&#8217;s Big 4 will be brought together for the first time in the UK, after performing together in Europe at last summer&#8217;s festivals. They bands collaborated for a cover of Diamond Head&#8217;s &#8220;Am I Evil&#8221;, with all four bands on stage at once, as well as playing individual sets.</p><p>Now for the first time in the UK, the bands will open the Friday night on the 8th July, with Biffy Clyro headlining the Saturday and Slipknot closing on the Sunday night.</p><p><a

Matt Cardle &#8211; who is originally from Colchester &#8211; has been mentored by Danni Minogue over the last ten weeks on the live shows, and has recently been announced as the X Factor 2010 winner.</p><p>Matt Cardle and Rebecca Ferguson were the last two contestants competing for the X Factor Crown after One Direction were voted off earlier this evening.</p><p>Matt Cardle will be releasing the Biffy Clyro hit &#8216;Many of Horror&#8217; next week and is currently the bookies&#8217; favourite to clinch the Christmas number 1 chart spot.</p><p>Matt Cardle will be performing live with all of this year&#8217;s finalists on the  X Factor 2011 Live Tour. id="intelliTXT">The festivals will take place at Richfield Avenue in Reading and Bramham Park in Leeds from August 26-28, 2011.</span></p><p><span>This year&#8217;s festival took place last weekend and featured headline performances from Guns N Roses, Arcade Fire and Blink 182 as well as appearances across the weekend from the likes of The Libertines, Biffy Clyro, Pendulum, Klaxons, Paramore and Limp Bizkit.</span></p><p><span>Although the line-up will not be announced until next year, the festival is again set to be a massive hit with fans.<br

The amount of layers to the sound they make is quite astounding for a trio, and only serves to illustrate the ambition behind Matt Bellamy, Christopher Wolstenholme and Dominic Howard&#8217;s music.</p><p>Muse have come a long way since the early days of <em>Showbiz</em> and <em>Origin Of Symmetry</em>, and third album Absolution illustrated the higher level that the band were aiming for. Black Holes and Revelations and Resistance have built on these foundations further, and Muse&#8217;s gigs at Lancashire County Cricket Club and Wembley Stadium in September sees them at the very top of their game.</p><p>A further batch of <a
