A Different Kind Of Fix was released last week, and entered the UK chart at number six, following on from the success of the band’s previous releases, I Had The Blues But I Shook Them Loose and Flaws.

The band’s third album, the follow-up to 2009′s I Had The Blues But I Shook Them Loose and 2010′s Flaws, was released on August 29th. The Telegraph were quick to give the album four stars, saying the album “is as focused and beautiful a collection of rock songs as they have made.” Blare Magazine calls it “a startling collection of work” and praises its “honest sense of creativity.” The BBC describes it as “a lot flush with giddy enthusiasm and sunshine.”

To showcase the record, the band are set to tour the UK this autumn, kicking off on September 30th at the Brighton Dome.

Their new record I’m With You is currently holding the number one spot in the midweek update, and fighting off stiff competition from the likes of Bombay Bicycle Club, Adele, David Guetta and Will Young.

Over on the singles charts, it appears as though Example will secure the pole position with his new track Stay Awake looking likely to beat off Ed Sheeran’s You Need Me, I Don’t Need You.

Red Hot Chili Peppers will be touring the UK this Autumn and fans are getting very excited to see the Californian funk rockers live once more.

A Different Kind of Fix will be their third record in three years and now it will have a playable Pac Man esque game to promote its release. The game is available via their Facebook page and will allow users to play as the band members’ heads and they will have to eat pills to unlock different sections of the music.

This rather strange promotion technique is being designed to increase publicity of the new record, but with their glowing career to date the band hardly need any help promoting themselves. Earlier this year they performed a triumphant set at Glastonbury and headlined Underage Festival. They will also be heading out on an extensive tour of the UK this Autumn.

The first day will see My Chemical Romance headline the main stage in their first Reading show in five years. Also appearing on the main stage are Thirty Seconds To Mars and The Offspring. Beady Eye will headline the NME/Radio 1 tent.

Tickets are still available for the Saturday and Sunday of the event. Saturday will see The Strokes and Pulp headline the main stage, with The National, Jane’s Addiction and Bombay Bicycle Club also appearing. On Sunday Muse are set to headline, with Elbow, Intepol, Friendly Fires, 2manydjs and The Streets also performing. It is sure to be an incredible weekend.

5. The National- This band have risen from the underground and on to the mainstream radar due to their heart-breaking and melancholic sound. Their live shows are always powerful as well and will be full of heart stopping moments and mass sing alongs. They are performing on the Main Stage on the Saturday evening at Reading and Sunday at Leeds.

4. Bombay Bicycle Club- Bombay Bicycle Club are going from strength to strength at the moment and on the eve of the release of their third record, they now have a back catalogue of hits that makes for a great live show. They are performing on the NME/ Radio 1 Stage on Saturday evening at Reading and Sunday at Leeds.

3.  Little Roy- This reggae act are renowned for their amazing covers of Nirvana songs. They offer something different from the endless cast of rock bands performing over the weekend and should definitely not be missed. They are performing on the Saturday evening at Reading and Sunday evening at Leeds on the Festival Republic Stage.

2. Muse- Muse are the biggest stadium rock band in the world at the moment and their live show is the closest you may come to an out of this world experience. They will be performing their Origins of Symmetry album in full (and maybe a few surprise tracks) to finish off the Friday at Leeds and Sunday at Reading.

1. Pulp- Reformed this year for a Summer of festival appearances, they have been wowing fans at every turn thus far. They are sure to bring out all their classic hits such as Disco 2000 and Common People and will be headlining Leeds’s Main Stage on Sunday night and playing before The Strokes at Reading on the Saturday.

It has been reported that there were huge queues for the Film and Music Arena to see comic star Steve Coogan and Rob Brydon talk about their TV series The Trip, answering questions from screenwriter Richard Curtis.

Latitude is renowned for its hugely diverse line-up, with leading names from the worlds of comedy, theatre, film, art, literature, poetry, cabaret, fashion and dance appearing on the 18 stages and areas throughout this weekend.

Organiser Festival Republic has said that it expects to make a profit from the festival for the first time this year.

Their new single Shuffle is undoubtably the anthem of the Summer so far and their new album sounds amazing. Ed Sheeran: Ed Sheeran is playing during the early afternoon on the Saturday and it would seem a bit rude to miss out on his medley of acoustic brilliance. The nation can’t escape him at the moment, but don’t just think of him as that ginger bloke who sings the A Team, Sheeran has many hits and after his album comes out he will be more likely to headline festivals than to play lunchtime sets on the Obelisk Arena.

Suede: headlining the Obelisk Arena on the Sunday night, Suede are a band who never fail to deliver amazing performances. Their music was huge in the early nineties, capturing on themes of domestic violence and frustration with modern life and putting it into beautiful indie rock with tones of anger and emotion that made them such a powerful band. Now they are back and will provide quite a climax to the festival.

Firstly SBTRKT, who is a very exciting new name in the world of electronic music and his mellow and smooth sound offers a fresh release from the dark dub-step domination which the country cannot escape at the moment.

Secondly, Chad Valley is an artist to look out for, as his beat based melodies are riddled with talent and beauty. With such an aura of catchy indie surrounding him, a bright future awaits and perhaps begins with their support slot for the Friendly Fires.

These two acts will not appear at the O2 Brixton show on the 26th November. On this date, there will be an extended night of music with Little Dragon, Tensnake and Wild Goose all playing, with more acts to be announced. This show of amazing music will go on until 3am.

The one-day festival takes place on August 5th in London’s Victoria park. Aimed exclusively at under 18s, this year will see the headline slot occupied by Bombay Bicycle Club. Also announced to appear are Fixers, Alex Winston and Yasmin, who join bands including Viva Brother, Spark and The Midnight Beast.

Moran, who became a mainstream success in the sitcom Black Books alongside Bill Bailey, has also appeared in films such as Shaun Of The Dead and Run, Fatboy, Run. His appearance at the Suffolk event will take place as part of his current UK tour.

Famous for its charged atmosphere and unique Scottish vibe, the three-day event once again has a world-class line-up. Latitude Festival arrives in Suffolk on July 15th, for three days of incredible music in one of the most relaxed festivals in the country. On August 20th, V Festival kicks off in Chelmsford (Hylands Park) and Staffordshire (Weston Park). Headlining the two-day event are Eminem and Arctic Monkeys, with support from chart favourites such as Rihanna, Plan B, The Script, Kaiser Chiefs, Manic Street Preachers and Lostprophets. Pendulum and Dizzee Rascal headline the 4Music Stage, with Duran Duran and Chase and Status set to top the bill on The Arena Stage. Bestival is one of the summer’s latest festivals, but also one of the most critically acclaimed. Featuring a famous incredibly chilled-out atmosphere, the weekend is a frequent award winner, including best major UK festival in 2010. The single received its first play on Zane Lowe’s Radio 1 show on June 22nd. It is the first single from their upcoming album, A Different Kind of Fix. Featuring production work by Jim Abbiss, who worked on their critically acclaimed debut I Had The Blues But I Shook Them Loose, the new record is released on August 29th. The 66-year-old former frontman of rock legends The Kinks put the £2,000,000 studio up for sale last July. The studio, opened by the Kinks in 1971, has played host to Blur, Elvis Costello, Bombay Bicycle Club and Arctic Monkeys. Davies recently sparked rumours that the sale may be delayed and potentially even cancelled, saying, “It was up for sale but I’ve got another record to do so we’re debating what to do now. It’s open for discussion.”

Davies is currently preparing for gigs at the Royal Festival Hall (June 19th), Hard Rock Calling supporting Bon Jovi (June 25th), and the Cornbury Music Festival (July 2nd).

Bombay Bicycle Club have announced a 16 date UK tour.

The band will play sixteen dates starting in Brighton on September the 30th and finishing at London’s O2 Academy in Brixton on the 19th of October.

They are releasing their third album ‘A Different Kind Of Fix’ on August the 29th and have a summer of festivals including Glastonbury, Reading and Leeds festivals and Relentless Boardmasters.

The band’s third album ‘A different Kind of Fix’ will be released on August the 29th. Their single ‘Shuffle’ is released later this month on the 23rd of June.

This album sees them team back up with producer Jim Abbiss who worked with them on their debut album ‘I Had The Blues But I Shook Them Loose’.

Underage has been going from strength to strength for five years. Founded out of frustration with the established festival scene, the one day London event bans anyone over the age of 17 from setting foot in its boundaries.

Returning for a bumper addition, the organisers of Underage are working hard to make this summer’s instalment extra special. The line up is always expanding, with Miles Kane set to perform in Victoria Park.

The Liverpool songwriter is set to release his much anticipated solo album this summer, after surprising fans with a series of singles. ‘Inhaler’ may have half-inched a guitar line from The Music Machine, but it’s energy and sheer style is a blast of fresh air.

The bill is already bristling with talent. Underage has confirmed appearances from the likes of American soul sensation Janelle Monae, fast rising Slough band Brother and Bombay Bicycle Club.

The sixth edition of the festival will once again take place at Henham Park, near Southwold from July 14-17, and will feature a mix of music and arts performers.

A fourth headline act, who has not been confirmed, will perform on the main stage at midday on the final day of the festival. Radiohead’s Thom Yorke has previously performed in the slot, with revellers leaving their tent earlier that usual to catch his acoustic set of Radiohead and solo numbers.

The soul songstress who has not performed in front of an audience since September 2008 will be taking part in a series of gigs by various Island Record artists throughout the month of May.

Other acts also due to perform the Island Life celebratory shows at London Shepherds Bush Empire a include Keane, Paul Weller, The Fratellis, Ladyhawke, Bombay Bicycle Club and Cat Stevens.
