Adele, Justin Bieber and 30 Seconds To Mars are each shortlisted for three awards, whilst on the back of the announcement of a December 2011 Coldplay UK tour, the band have been nominated for best UK and Ireland act.

The 18th Annual MTV EMA’s will take place at Belfast’s Odyssey Arena on November 6th, with the ceremony set to be broadcast live on MTV.

In an interview with MTV at last Sunday’s VMA’s Britney told, “I don’t know if I’m at liberty to tell. But I will anyways – it’s ‘Criminal’. Actually the song, when I first heard it, [I thought] ‘It’s really different and [there's] not anything I’ve heard like this before’. So I really wanted to deliver this song.”

Britney was also one of the winners at the VMAs as she went home with two awards. She will also be going out on an extensive tour of the UK this Autumn.

Britney is nominated for 2 VMAs and now it has been announced that the Hit Me Baby One More Time singer will be given a lengthy tribute at the forthcoming award ceremony.

In an interview with Billboard, VMA executive Amy Doyle commented, “Britney will be at the show and we’ll be paying tribute to her. She was having an incredible year and she is so beloved by the MTV audience that we started to think what could we do that would be a different experience.”

Britney will also be touring the UK this Autumn as part of her Femme Fatale tour.

The hit British R&B singer has been nominated for multiple awards at the ceremony, which takes place on August 28th. He is widely tipped to win Video of The Year for his single Grenade. Also performing will be Lil Wayne, Adele and Chris Brown.

In terms of who will actually come out of the award ceremony with silverware, Katy Perry is very hotly tipped as she has been nominated for 9 awards. While British folk rockers Mumford and Sons are hopeful they can come away with a prestigious VMA award as they have been nominated for best rock video with The Cave.

McIntyre seems to be loathed by many of his fellow comedians. The Mail Online has reported that comedian Stewart Lee has stated that McIntyre “is spoon-feeding his audience warm diarrhoea”.

At the British Comedy Awards earlier this year McIntyre suffered much abuse at the hands of his fellow comics. Following this incident, McIntyre told the BBC’s Kirsty Young that “It just made me feel awful, because I am there with my wife and she has gone out and bought a dress. And it is my big night and I won, and yet the overriding experience was that of nastiness. For what reason, I don’t know. I don’t know what I was doing — just making people laugh.”

Despite this criticism by other comedians, McIntyre will be touring the year. His tour kicks off on August 22nd at Cardiff’s Motorpoint Arena.

To be released on July 9th, the two tracks will be Order and Pan, neither of which featured on his debut album, James Blake. Released in February, the album was critically acclaimed and he was nominated for the Critic’s Choice Award at this year’s Brit Awards.

British West End sensation collects five of the most prestigious theatrical awards.

War Horse, the story about a bond between a boy, David and his horse during World War One, has won the hearts of the West End, Spielberg (who is making a movie of the production) and now Broadway.

Winning five awards: Best Play, Tom Morris and Marianne Elliott picked up Best Direction of a Play, Best scenic Design of a Play, Best lighting design of a Play, Best Sound Design of a Play and  the Special Tony Award was given to Handspring Puppet Company. The production won every category it was nominated in.

War Horse began life at the National Theater before transferring to London’s West End where it is enjoying an open run. Following its phenomenal reception and success on Broadway there are plans for the production to do a 20 city US tour.  It’s next stop Canada and Australia and perhaps a Japanese production too. War Horse is a global phenomena.

Rihanna and Britney Spears put on a raunchy show at the Billboard awards on Sunday. Dressed up in bondage style outfits and dancing provokedly round a pole before sealing the performance with a kiss.

Parents are in uproar,  protesting that it had no place on prime time telly at 8pm on a Sunday evening:

“The overtly sexualized performance by Rihanna and Britney Spears was no accident or mishap, but a deliberate effort to target teens with images and lyrics that glamorize whips, chains and other sexual fantasies.”

It wont be the first time for either pop princess to cause controversy. Last year Rihanna was investigated over her performance with Christina Aguilera on the X Factor and  this is all just deja vu for Britney who created a stir when she kissed Madonna at the VMA’s in 2003.

This years Ivor Novello awards witnessed Dizzee Rascal, Plan B and Tinie Tempah all being honoured, marking the rise of British urban music.

Tinie Tempah picked up one of the prestigous awards for Pass Out as the best contemporary song: ” We’re here picking up Ivor Novellos. It doesn’t really get any better and this goes to show the music does work” ” People get the music and the theme is embraced and understood by people outisde of that world, outside of hip-hop and underground music world, so this is clearly here to stay.”

Ben Drew of Plan B picked up best songwriter of the year and a further two Ivors! On behalf of Ben Universal Music Publishing UK and Europe president, Paul Connolly, commented: “There’s so much chatter about today’s music industry demanding instant results from disposable pop and shunning long-term artists development. I can’t think of a better reposte to that than Ben’s wins at the Ivors.

Dizzee Rascal, virtually a veteran in comparison also picked up one of the converted awards, he was given the Inspiration award.  He imparted his pearls of wisdom on british domestic songwriters: “Just shows the country is ready for this music” ” It’s a good thing and I am loving it and it’s for songwriting as well.”

The three brit sensations have brought home the goods and proved urban music has a firm and deserved place in the music industry.

Tinie has been chosen to win Nordoff Robbins O2 Silver Clef Awards in July, along with other artists such as classical music star Alfie Boe.

Tinie, a two-time BRIT Award winner in February, will receive the Best Newcomer accolade, while tenor Boe will receive a classical award.

But that track has now dropped one place to second, while ‘Someone Like You’ is back in the top spot again after Adele performed the hit on Comic Relief night last Friday, according to the Official Chart Update.

Tinie Tempah, the winner of two Brit awards earlier this year, is currently performing in Ultra Music Festival 2011.

“There’s this other girl called Lykke Li from Sweden – I really want to collaborate with her, that’d be great,” he added. “Obviously Kanye West as well, and Drake would be pretty amazing.”

Tempah was speaking in a ninterview with school pupils from Paddington Academy.

“Being able to travel the world is pretty cool,” the 22-year-old told them. “There are places that I’ve always wanted to go to but being able to go there as somebody who’s a musician and is recognised as one is cool.”

The singer, who bas born Eliza Caird, said “I always loved singing. I was always trying to sing in school plays. I was in every one I could be in,” she told the Daily Record. I always liked acting in school and drama classes but when people asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up, I always told them I wanted to be a singer”.

She went on to say “I didn’t want to be a jack of all trades. I wanted to master one.”

The star recently revealed that she is planning to work with Tinie Tempah on a duet soon. The pair met at the BRIT Awards and plan to work together soon.

After the ceremony, Cheryl Cole spoke of her desire to work with a number of different artists, with Rihanna being one of the names mentioned. “I’d love to do a record with her. She feels the same,” Cole said during an appearance on ITV2. “There could be wheels, there could be motions. We’ll see.”

Rihanna recently announced an extra show to be added to her 2011 Loud UK tour. The singer will now perform a total of six dates at London O2 Arena, with the latest being announced to take place on 1st December. Kasabian recently won Best Act In The World Today award at the Q Awards, and members Tom Meighan and Sergio Pizzorno are rumoured to be heavily involved in an upcoming British sitcom. Speaking to NME, Meighan revealed, “We’re going to go back on the road in April or May, and we’re going to be doing the small shows again – 1,000, 2,000 people a night.”
