Th pop superstar is currently touring her latest album, Loud, and by the end of December will have performed no less than eleven shows at London’s O2 Arena this year, including her headline slot at the Capital FM Jingle Bell Ball. The Wireless Festival concert is her first confirmed UK appearance of 2012, with the news coming as she prepares release her sixth studio album, Talk That Talk, later this month.

Earlier this year, the Barclaycard Wireless Festival was headlined by the Black Eyed Peas, Chemical Brothers and Pulp.

Cheryl Cole is currently working on her new record and is being aided by Black Eyed Peas’ Will.I.Am. Now however tabloid reports are pairing Cheryl Cole and David Guetta together for Cheryl’s new album. A source has told The Daily Mail of the collaboration project:

“Cheryl will be a top solo star in the US, if Will has anything to do with it. The man is so well connected, and he sleeps, breathes and eats music. He has a studio at home in which he is trying out new sounds for Cheryl. He wants the best and is very picky. David is an old friend and has produced some of the best dance anthems of the past few years, so it’s a good place to start.”

David Guetta will be performing at this year’s Creamfields along with the likes of Tiesto and The Chemical Brothers.

It is expected that Friday should be dry with sunny spells, with highs of 21º. While the Saturday will be similar and there will be lows of 11 and slightly cooler highs of 17º.

However on the Sunday it is expected that there will be heavy showers which could be mixed with thunder.

In essence if you are heading off to Big Chill, pack for both sun and rain as there is a good chance that you will get both. Playing at this year’s Big Chill Festival are acts including Chemical Brothers, Kanye West and Warpaint.

The Chemical Brothers: These two DJs from South London have conquered the world and now perfected a sound and light show which is so big in magnitude that it has attained a reputation for being heard and seen in space. Metronomy: Metronomy are playing an evening set on the Deer Park Stage and will bring their eclectic and dreamy sound which has brought them the reputation as one of Britain’s hottest new bands. They have been nominated for the Mercury Music Prize and this critical acclaim is certainly substantiated by quality. They are a band not to be missed.

Jamie XX: Jamie xx is currently one of the hottest DJs/producers out there and with his slow, minimal and almost tribal sound he is amazing both fans and critics alike. For someone so young to have achieved what Jamie XX has is something in itself, and his live show is full of energy and precision.

The festival takes place at Clune Farm, on the shores of Loch Ness, and the 2012 edition will begin on Friday June 8th. The weekend event is renowned for its mix of great atmosphere and great music, and next year’s festival is sure to be no different. The tour is reported to have grossed £448 million which defeated the Rolling Stones previous record £558 million and will finish tonight at Moncton’s Magnetic Hill Music Festival.

The news that the tour has grossed this insane amount of money will  not please those who accuse U2 of evading taxes, despite the Edge’s denial of these evasion accusations.

U2 also headlined this year’s Glastonbury festival along with the likes of Mumford and Sons, Beyonce and the Chemical Brothers.

Despite such strong odds, the Mercury Music prize always seems to serve up surprises and James Blake has to be a strong contendor with his slice of dub-step transformed into a beautifully melancholic package of pianos and minimalism. Blake’s odds are currently 13/2 but have gone up in the past week from 12/1 at one stage, so he could well make a late charge to victory.

James Blake will be playing at this year’s Big Chill Festival alongside the likes of the Chemical Brothers and Kanye West.

Now the man responsible for much of the duo’s light shows and music videos has spoken about what fans can hope to expect from their set at Creamfields 2011.

Speaking about the show Adam Smith stated, “I think music and visual wise this is the best it has ever been.”

This bold statement of intent will be sure to be followed up by quite a performance from the South London hailing DJs.

Michael Eavis (founder and curator) of Glastonbury has told the Times that the Festival has only got “another three or four years left” to the shock of the nation.

The revelation comes after the Festival has just celebrated over 40 years of success and triumph and literally changed festivals in Britain, and the world, forever.

In a shocking interview with the Times, Eavis revealed that ““It is a very scary business. Womad and Latitude are not selling out. Partly it’s economics, but there is a feeling that people have seen it all before.”

Eavis’s revelation has come despite the Festival enjoying a great year, with tickets selling out in hours and thousands bitterly disappointed to be unable get their hands on them. Performances from the likes of The Chemical Brothers, Beyonce and U2 delivered certainly something special to those who were lucky enough to get wristbands, and yet it seems that Britain’s biggest music festival will not last forever.

His comments come as this Summer, many festivals are struggling to sell their quota of tickets, and it seems that Eavis believes this trough in the market will soon extend it’s way to the infamous Glastonbury Festival.
This lack of tickets sold has driven festival prices down. The most notable example of which comes from Latitude which takes place this weekend (15th July) where tickets are going for under half the original face value.

The competition, aptly named Tour de Chill, will give punters a chance to win a free ticket upon completion of a 70 kilometre cycle, from Bristol to the Big Chill site, and upon raising £150 for KOP. There is a £50 registration charge but with the prospect of a free ticket to Big Chill many are keen to get involved. Furthermore, participants are also to be rewarded for their hard cycling work with a hot shower and massage upon arrival as well as a free Tour de Chill t-shirt.

The Director of KOP, Andrew Chalinder has stated, “KOP is really excited about the Tour de Chill and the opportunity it provides for raising funds that will benefit vulnerable children in Kenya at a time when the region faces the worst drought for more than 60 years. Just think of the smile you’ll be bringing to a child’s face when those thighs burn!”

The weekend is headlined by Black Eyed Peas today (July 1st), The Chemical Brothers on Saturday (July 2nd) and Pulp (July 3rd). The Montreal-based orchestral rock band will play a headline slot on Thursday (June 30th), supported by an all-star line-up of The Vaccines, Beirut and Mumford & Sons. Arcade Fire begun June with an epic headline set at Bonnaroo, and are surely set to repeat that in Hyde Park. That show featured frontman Win Butler singing crowd favourite We Used To Wait from a platform within the audience, and their show earlier in the year at Coachella featured an awe-inspiring stage show of giant balloons, so UK fans travelling to London on Thursday are sure to be delighted. Performing tracks from their hit 2010 album The Suburbs, as well as old favourites from incredible debut album Funeral and critically acclaimed follow-up Neon Bible, Arcade Fire are famous for their energised live shows and diverse range of musical skills, with each member able to play multiple instruments.

This weekend Hyde Park played host to Hard Rock Calling, featuring stunning headline sets from The Killers, Bon Jovi and Rod Stewart. This coming weekend will see Wireless Festival descend on Hyde Park, featuring headline sets from The Black Eyed Peas, The Chemical Brothers and Pulp.

As well as playing Hyde Park, the band will play Benicassim and August shows in Manchester and a special show at Edinburgh Castle.

Featuring more than 700 acts across more than 30 stages, watched by more than 175,000 people, the festival is renowned worldwide for its great atmosphere and legendary performances.

This year’s Pyramid Stage headline performances come from U2 (Friday 24th), Coldplay (Saturday 25th) and Beyonce (Sunday 26th). Other acts on the infamous main stage include Morissey, Elbow, Laura Marling, Paolo Nutini and Biffy Clyro.

Mexican duo Rodrigo y Gabriela have been announced as another UK exclusive headline act, while The Chemical Brothers are also confirmed to play.

Other confirmed acts include Jessie J, Janelle Monae, Robert Plant & The Band of Joy, Metronomy, Chipmunk, Katy B, Example and Calvin Harris.

The Big Chill is to take place at Eastnor Castle Deer Park in Herefordshire between August 4 and August 7. Previous headliners include Massive Attack and Lily Allen.

Radiohead released their new LP The King of Limbs as a download in February, with the physical release available in shops yesterday. They will also be releasing a ‘newspaper edition’ featuring either the MP3s or WAVs together with 2×10″ vinyl, a CD and 625 pieces of artwork packaged in a full-colour piece of oxo-degradeable plastic on May 9.

Simons responded to a tweet by writer Sophie Heawood, who wrote: “Am starting to wonder if there’s any other band as in love with their own lovedness as the current incarnation of Radiohead.”

He replied: “the bends was just ok, not listened to much after that, are they any good? (sic)”

In response to a question about their latest release, he said: “not being bad, but it all just sounds like nonsense to me, it is possible I am wrong on this, but newspaper records, who cares.”

Fans flocked to Rough Trade in East London yesterday to be handed copies of Radiohead’s free newspaper ‘The Universal Sigh’ by the bands’ singer Thom Yorke. A huge queue of people formed hours before the midday opening time.

He continued: “I have no interest in Radiohead, not their music or their obsession with marketing. by our grace, us multi millionaires are going to give our record away for free, forget all the musicians trying to catch a break.”

He went on to say: “the cocteau twins didn’t wrap up their albums in newspapers or whatever it is. the zombies didn’t sit around plotting their digital strategy.”

Ed Simons may not be a fan of Radiohead’s tactics, but their millions of fans worldwide lap it up. One fan in the queue for the paper yesterday said “When Radiohead ask you to jump – you jump.”

The movie stars Russell Brand and is a remake of the 1980′s film of the same name which starred Dudley Moore.

Ronson has been in demand recently, having also been asked to work with Culture Club. Ronson has already appeared with Boy George on his song ‘Somebody to Love Me.’

It has recently been announced that Ronson will appear at this year’s RockNess Festival, in addition to headliners The Chemical Brothers, Kasabian and Paolo Nutini.

The festival will take place on the banks of the famous Loch Ness near Inverness over the weekend of June 10th-12th.
