A doctor is said to have visited the performer this afternoon, and advised that he cannot perform tonight to allow him time to recover before his next concert at the Royal Albert Hall on Friday 28th October.

The former Wham star will now reschedule the show, with all original tickets to remain valid.

The colossal, 62-date tour, which includes nineteen UK shows, will see the legendary singer joined by a full symphony orchestra. He hasn’t performed since July 2010, so these shows across Europe are sure to be a welcome return for fans. On October 25th he will begin the first of four consecutive shows at London’s Royal Albert Hall, including a concert in memory of Elizabeth Taylor to raise money for the Elton John AIDS Foundation.

In an interview with the NME he commented, “For this album I’m going to be working with either gay or gay-friendly artists, and it’ll be a mixture of tracks sung by me and others by great young gay artists – possibly unknown ones. And I’ve lined up some really great dance producers to work on it too, so it’ll be a pretty stunning record.”

In support of the new album Michael will be going on an extensive UK this Autumn playing venues such as London’s Royal Albert Hall and Liverpool’s Echo Arena.

Money from tickets sales will be donated to Elton John’s AIDS Foundation’s Elizabeth Taylor Memorial Fund.
