So far just four shows have been revealed, but more are expected to be announced soon. They currently kick off on September 20th at The Cellars, Portsmouth, and will conclude at Manchester’s Moho Live on September 30th. The shows will allow the singer-songwriter, real name Sam Duckworth, to showcase his new material, as well as tracks from his first three albums.

It’s an interesting moniker at the very least, and certainly one to pique one’s curiosity. Sam Duckworth named his band after part of the solution to a Batman game on the ZX Spectrum, but it is not just his questionable reading material that has brought attention.

After all, no one needed a walkthrough for Batman on the ZX Spectrum.

In all seriousness, Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly. have made some wonderful music almost in a genre of its own – a hybrid of electronic and acoustic styles, with occasional orchestration thrown in for good measure. Biggest hit to date The Chronicles of a Bohemian Teenager (Part One) is a fine example of his work.

With all this talk of Duckworth’s band name, it seems natural that the third album will be called Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly. It will be released on September 13th 2010, and will feature eleven tracks – including first single Collapsing Cities feat. Shy FX.

In support of the album’s release, Duckworth and chums will tour the UK extensively. Get Cape. Wear Cape. Fly. tickets are on sale now for the gigs below:
