Spector, Dan Mangan, Francois And The Atlas Mountains and Clock Opera have also been added to the list of performers. They join The Futureheads, The Big Bink, Glasvegas and former Supergrass frontman Gaz Coombes, who are among the acts already confirmed for this year’s bash.

The Camden Crawl has grown from a 5 venue and 20 artist affair to an event which included more than 50 venues and 250 artists and events in 2011.

It appeared that the band argued with someone in the crowd who continued to throw bottles at them during their set at Chelmsford. Other people then started to join in with the bottling and the band walked off stage after only performing 4 songs. Following this the band’s management issued a statement which said:

“It’s an honour for Glasvegas to play in front of any crowd. They performed at Pukkelpop before the storm blew in and we were reminded first hand how important safety of a crowd and band are. The kids that come along to the festivals are pasisonate about their music – they’ve saved and sacrificed for months to pay for tickets and want to have an amazing weekend.”

It seems that the band’s very poor reception may have been because they were performing on the Arena Stage which was not very receptive to rock music as they performed just after Katy B.

Glasvegas are sure to bounce back from the incident and they are touring the UK this Autumn.

The hit Glaswegian band will play at the city’s Heineken Green Spheres venue, with the show becoming the first of their tour. It is one of many small venues of the tour, with others including Sheffield’s Leadmill, York’s Duchess and Manchester’s Club Academy. The Scottish indie rock band will kick off their short tour at London’s Koko on October 24th, and finish on October 31st at Glasgow’s ABC. The tour sees them play some of the country’s intimate venues, including Brighton’s Old Market, York’s Duchess and Sheffield’s Leadmill.

The 4Music Stage will see headline sets from Pendulum and Dizzee Rascal, with Primal Scream, Razorlight, The Courteneers, Tinie Tempah, The Wombats and Jessie J.

Festival goers had enjoyed a day full of sunshine on the Friday, but will now have to rely on wellies for the remainder of the event.

Paolo Nutini headlined the main stage yesterday evening, and was supported by the likes of My Morning Jacket, the Cribs, Seasick Steve and Rumer. Foals closed the Word Arena.

Suede will bring the festival to a close this evening, following performances throughout the day from Hurts, Glasvegas, Anna Calvi, Eels, Lykke Li and Everything Everything.

Moran, who became a mainstream success in the sitcom Black Books alongside Bill Bailey, has also appeared in films such as Shaun Of The Dead and Run, Fatboy, Run. His appearance at the Suffolk event will take place as part of his current UK tour.

The band from the East End of Glasgow, who released their second album Euphoric Heartbreak on April 4, explained that they received a “great vibe” when they met Adele.

“Growing up, something like The BRIT School was the least cool thing you could admit to. But you meet some people and it makes you more open-minded and helps you understand where they come from,” frontman James Allan told the Daily Star.

“I can say that I met Adele one night, I didn’t know who she was. We were in this bar and when I spoke to her I thought she’d got this amazing soul, a really soulful person.

“You know all that karma crap, well I got a great vibe off her, whether she’s been to stage school or not. I’m really glad that she’s doing so well.”

It was recently revealed that Allan has collaborated with his mother on a track on Glavegas’ new LP.

Glasvegas – most famous for their track Daddy’s Gone – this week released their second album, Euphoric ///Heartbreak \\\.

The indie rock outfit claimed it was a ‘phenomenal’ chance to play their fans some free tunes after joining a host of famous names on the billing at the month-long event.

Linkin Park, The Wanted, Beady Eye and Adele are among the acts playing the festival in July.

Brit Award winner Jessie J is also headlining her own show, and has promised fans she’ll be bringing some ‘magic’ to her performance.

The London singer’s debut album ‘On A Mission’ is currently at Number Two in the midweek charts, behind Adele’s ’21′, which is on course to make it 11 weeks at Number One.

If ’21′ remains Number One on Sunday it will be the first time since 1974 that an album has topped the chart for 11 consecutive weeks. The last one to do so was Elton John’s ‘Greatest Hits’. Last week, Adele beat Madonna’s 21 year old record for a female artist spending 10 consecutive weeks at the top.

He tells The Sun, “It wasn’t a shock as we knew she wasn’t happy. She never signed up for all the travel and demands which we had when things took off. She never wanted to stand there in front of thousands of people and play at Glastonbury. She found it all too much and she told us as a band. We all sat down together so there wasn’t any hard feelings. We all got a bit upset and felt sad at first as we valued her so much.”

In 2004, Razorlight drummer Christian Smith-Pancorvo left the band in similar circumstances.

McKay was replaced by Swedish star Jonna Lofgren.

The band enjoyed huge success with their first album, and were nominated for a number of prestigious music awards in 2008 and 2009, including The Mercury Prize, as well as various Q Awards and NME Awards.

It has been reported that Paolo Nutini has been eyeing up fellow Scottish artists for a star-studded collaboration. He revealed he would like to work with James Allan, frontman of the group Glasvegas, and has already spoken to Franz Ferdinand where they have a studio together in Glasgow.

Paolo Nutini said he has already made a pact with Kyle Falconer, lead singer of The View to record a mini album together, and it seems the desire to work with more successful Scottish artists is set to continue.

However, Paolo Nutini is also a fan of London-based group The Noisettes by saying he would not mind working with their lead singer Shingai Shoniwa.

The Noisettes are also about to start their UK tour for the album Wild Young Hearts, playing venues like the Manchester Ritz Ballroom (October 20), Birmingham O2 Academy (October 23) and the London O2 Shepherds Bush Empire (October 26 & 27).

The Paolo Nutini tour will also be playing at top UK venues such as the Manchester Apollo (October 5), Leeds O2 Academy (October 9), Newcastle O2 Academy (October 10 & 11) and the Glasgow O2 Academy (October 14 & 15).

Bat For Lashes is one of twelve nominees for the Barclaycard Music Prize 2009

This year, many female solo artists made the shortlist for the Barclaycard Music Prize, rewarding the best album, and seven out of the twelve albums nominated are debut albums. Fans can catch the majority of these artists in action live as they tour the UK.

Brighton-based Bat For Lashes (real name Natasha Khan) will be touring her second studio album Two Suns, starting at the Bournemouth Opera House (October 1) and will also play two dates at the London Roundhouse (October 5 & 6), the Liverpool O2 Academy (October 10) and Manchester Academy (October 14) before closing her tour at the Edinburgh HMV Picture House (October 20).

Florence and the Machine (fronted by Florence Welch) released their debut album Lungs earlier this month and reached number two in the charts behind Micheal Jackson. The Florence and the Machine tour begins at the Bristol O2 Academy (September 17) and stops off at the Birmingham O2 Academy (September 20) before ending the tour with three dates at the London O2 Shepherds Bush Empire (September 27, 28 & 29).

The self-titled debut album from La Roux, with singer Elly Jackson, reached number two in the album chart and La Roux will be in action at London Scala on September 10 before resuming touring duties on November 13 at Leeds University, also playing at the Manchester Warehouse Project (November 21) as well as two dates at the London O2 Shepherds Bush Empire (November 25 & 26).

The number one album from Kasabian called West Ryder Pauper Lunatic Asylum is another Barclaycard Music Prize nominee touring the UK later this year. Kasabian will play two dates at the Wolverhampton Civic Hall (August 24 & 25) before touring throughout November starting at the Newcastle Metro Radio Arena (November 10), playing two dates at the London Wembley Arena (November 14 & 15) and their last scheduled date at the Sheffield Hallam FM Arena (November 23).

The Loollapalooza festival is widely regarded as one of the United States premiere festivals for music fans attracting a broad line up mainstream, emerging and cult acts.

Glasvegas performed a storming show at their first ever South by Southwest Festival (SXSW) gig at a sold out venue in Austin Texas last night (March 19).

The Scottish rockers who followed Swedish group Peter, Bjorn and John, kicked off their 45-minute set with the crowd-pleasing ‘Geraldine’ before launching into ‘Lonesome Swan’. Frontman James Allan said hardly a word throughout the set, but delivered each lyric with great emotion.

The crowd was mixture of the usual SXSW industry types curious to assess this year’s UK buzz band as well as fans who have already developed part of a strong US fan base for the Glaswegian four piece.

Glasvegas are set to perform at several more SXSW showcases and day parties throughout the coming week.

Glasvegas are also due to continue their whirlwind ascendancy to the heights of Rock ‘n’ Roll with a support slot on this summers U2 tour. Glasvegas will be hoping to follow in the foot steps of former U2 support act Kings of Leon who managed to turned opening for U2′s ‘How dismantle an atomic bomb’ tour into becoming the world’s biggest bands of 2008.

In keeping with their long-standing tradition, U2 will welcome a number of different support acts to the tour including Glasvegas, Elbow, Kaiser Chiefs, Snow Patrol and Black Eyed Peas with additional artists to be announced.

Tickets for U2 360° concerts in Milan and Gothenburg go on sale this Friday, March 13th. Tickets for the U2 concert in Amsterdam go on sale this Saturday, March 14th.   Full details of all dates and on-sale information as well as a virtual model of the unique production and seating positions can be found on a dedicated microsite at U2.com.

As usual, existing subscribers to U2’s official website u2.com will have an opportunity to purchase tickets in advance of the public on sale date.

Glasvegas, Doves Nine Inch Nails, Pet Shop Boy’s and Jane’s Addiction have been confirmed to perform at Ireland’s Oxegen festival this summer.

The Saturdays, Eagles Of Death Metal, Dreadzone, God Is An Astronaut, Tom Middleton,Aeroplane, Gary Go and Hudson Mohawke have also been added to the line-up for the bash, set to take place at Punchestown Racecourse in Ireland on July 10 and 12.

Oxegen 2009 is promising to be one of the stand out festivals of the year with the likes of Lily Allen, Keane,and The Specials joining acts such as The Killers, Bloc Party, Blur, Elbow Fight Like Apes, Jason Mraz, Katy Perry, Kings of Leon, Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds, Pendulum, Pete Doherty, Razorlight, Snow Patrol, The Killers, The Script, The Ting Tings, White Lies and Yeah Yeah Yeahs.

Fans will also have the many more chance to see Oxegen fesitival acts as many will be on tour this summer including, The Killers, Razorlight, Kings of Leon, Snow Patrol, Blur, White lies, Elbow, Ting Tings and Pete Doherty.

The Killers summer tour starts in Belfast at the Odyssey Arena (February 21), before moving on to venues including London’s O2 Arena (February 23 &24), Cardiff International Arena (February 28), Aberdeen Exhibition Centre (March 5) and the Newcastle Metro Radio Arena (March 7). The Killers tour comes to a close with two back to back shows at the Manchester Evening News Arena (March 9 & 10). Killers tickets are currently available from £56.

Razorlight have recently announced a tour beginning in Glasgow King Tuts (May 2), Buxton Opera House (May 4), Leamington Spa The Assembly (May 5), London O2 Arena (May 7) and also Manchester MEN Arena (May 9). Razorlight tickets are available from £25

Snow Patrol are currently on the road with a mammoth Snow Patrol tour featuring performances at the Glasgow SECC (February 25), Liverpool Echo Arena (March 6), Cardiff International Arena (March and Nottingham Trent FM Arena (March 12). The Snow Patrol tour comes to a close with four shows at the Odyssey Arena in Belfast (March 19, 20, 21 &23). Snow Patrol tickets are available from £34

Tickets for Blur’s long awaited return show at Manchester MEN (June 26) Arena are available this morning (February 13) this show will be followed by the already sold out Blur concerts at London’s Hyde Park (July 2 , 3). Blur tickets are available from £25.

The White Lies also embark on their own UK tour in May. The White Lies tour kicks off at Leeds University (May 3) before stopping at Queen Margaret Union, Glasgow (May 4), Manchester Academy (May 5) and Heaven in London (May 7 & 8). Loads of White Lies tickets are still available from £17.

Elbow will set off on tour in Brighton Dome (February 26) continuing on to perform dates at Southend Cliffs Pavilion (March 1), Bournemouth Solent Hall (March 2), Sheffield Academy (March 3), Newcastle Academy (March 5), Edinburgh Corn Exchange (March 6) Blackpool Empress Ballroom (March 7), Llandudno Arena (March 9), Bristol Colston Hall (March 10), Plymouth Pavilions (March, 11) Newport Centre (March, 12) and finally the elbow tour will close at London Wembley Arena (March 14). Glasvegas played an intimate surprise in Notting Hill in the early hours of this morning (February 26)

The band had followed the NME Awards show at the O2 Academy Brixton where they had duetted with Florence And The Machine’s Florence Welch.

According to reports the gig saw sometime support act Carl Barat crowd surf – after being lifted up above the packed audience by Jon ‘The Reverend’ McClure. The free-to-enter venue was packed with Glasvegas fans for the show which began around 12:30am.

Glasvegas finish their headline slot on the NME tour at the NME Big Gig due to take place at London’s O2 Arena tonight (February 26) after which they our planning a brief brake before returning for the summer bout of festival appearances.

This years NME award nomination’s are dominated by former britpop legends Oasis and current Usrock royalty Kings of Leon. Oasis have been nominated for seven awards, including best band, best live band, best album and best video while Kings of Leon are in line for four statues, in the categories of best international band and best live band.

Life performances at the awards show are due to given by hotly tipped newcomers White Lies, Friendly Fires and Glasvegas, seasoned pro’s Franz Ferdinand and life time legend’s The Cure

Former Libertine and Dirty Pretty Things star Karl Barat has announced his maiden solo gig at the Wakefield Escobar on March 7.

The solo gig officially marks Carl Barat’s latest musical project following the decision to disband Dirty Pretty Things last December after the group’s 2008 album ‘Romance At Short Notice’ was released to lukewarm praise, and the band decided that the time had come to move on.

Caral Barat who recently supported Glasvegas on their recent North America tour is following in the footsteps of former Libertine and best friend Pete Doherty who is planning his own solo tour to support his eagerly anticipated debut solo album ‘Grace/Wastelands’ released March 16

The twelve date Pete Doherty tour kicks off at Cardiff University on March 13 and concludes at the Edinburgh Picture House on March 27. You can also see Pete Doherty live at Rock City in Nottingham (March 18), Leeds O2 Academy (March 23) and Birmingham O2 Academy (March 25). Tickets to see Pete Doherty on his first full UK tour will be available from £45.

Following the sold-out gig at Manchester Academy, the group, led by Florence Welch will headline at the Lost And Found Club Night at the city’s Ruby Lounge venue.

Oasis fan sites along with NME.com and BBC Radio 6 have been quick to jump on the news of the chart adding to the expectation that Oasis will ‘do the double’ following the release this week of their latest single The Shock Of Lightning

Metallica played a hotly-anticipated one-off show at London’s O2 Arena on Monday 15th September in front of 15,000 loyal fans. Despite taking significant measures attempting to prevent the resale of tickets, many fans sold spare tickets for more than 30 times the face value of £5. Despite the band claiming that all of the proceeds from the show would be going to charity, some fans have sold the second ticket of their allocated quota for up to £180, easily recouping the cost of the Metallica Fan Club membership that was required to buy the ticket in the first place.

The paperless ticket technology relied upon fans bringing to the show the credit card that was used to book their tickets. Apparently this was not as easy as it sounds, eye-witness reports say that over 1500 fans who had booked with debit cards, instead of credit cards, had to queue separately to collect pre-printed paper tickets. The show was apparently delayed by almost an hour.
