Here at Tixdaq.com, we have comprised a short list of what could be considered as some great alternatives for music fans that missed out on Glastonbury tickets this year:

Isle of Wight Festival tickets:

Fans with Isle of Wight Festival tickets can expect big things this summer, with a line-up that could be considered one of the best festival bills of the summer. The event will be headlined by Jay-Z, The Strokes and Paul McCartney and there will also be appearances across the weekend from the likes of Florence and the Machine, Blondie, Calvin Harris and Biffy Clyro.

Isle of Wight festival weekend with camping tickets can be picked up on the secondary ticket market for around £185. Alternatively, weekend tickets without camping can be bought for as little as £120.

Hard Rock Calling tickets:

Although only in it’s fourth year in 2010, Hard Rock Calling is quickly establishing itself as one of the best London festivals of the year. This year, as well as his Isle of Wight appearance, Paul McCartney will be headlining, along with Pearl Jam and Stevie Wonder. Other acts include The Hives, Jamiroquai, Crowded House, Crosby, Stills and Nash and Elvis Costello.

Although weekend tickets are not available, Hard Rock Calling day tickets are currently trading for as little as £40. That is less than the average price paid to see Paul McCartney perform at his upcoming headline shows here in the UK.

Reading and Leeds Festival tickets:

Perhaps a festival aimed more at the younger generation of festival goers, the Reading and Leeds festival boasts a huge line-up that can surely compete with that of Glastonbury. Blink 182, The Libertines, Guns N’ Roses, Arcade Fire, Dizzee Rascal and Cypress Hill will all be appearing on the main stage throughout the weekend.

Expect to pay around £230 on the secondary ticket market for a weekend ticket with camping to either Reading or Leeds. Considering the face value price was around £190 when the tickets went on sale a few months ago, it is well worth spending the extra few pounds to take advantage of the fantastic line-up.

Hop Farm Festival tickets:

Hop Farm Festival may not be the most talked about festival of the summer, but it will this year play host to the likes of Bob Dylan, Pete Doherty, Van Morrison, Laura Marling and Seasick Steve. The festival takes place in Tonbridge this July and is probably the cheapest alternative to Glastonbury this summer.

Day tickets cost around £45 each, with camping tickets costing £25 on top of that.

Gorillaz tickets:

Although not exactly a festival alternative, Gorillaz will be touring the UK in September on the back of their Glastonbury headline appearance. The band will be appearing at venues such as Glasgow SECC, Birmingham NIA, Newcastle Metro Radio Arena, Manchester MEN Arena,London O2 Arena and Dublin O2 Arena.

Gorillaz support acts for the September UK tour are yet to be announced, but expect some big names after appearances from Bobby Womack, De La Soul, Shaun Ryder and Super Furry Animals songwriter Gruff Rhys at the band’s Roundhouse shows in April. Ticket prices start at around £40.

All <a

This week, there are some fantastic prices for Reading and Leeds festival tickets, Isle of Wight festival tickets, V Festival tickets and Wireless festival tickets.

As the summer festival season fast approaches, here at Tixdaq.com we have used our knowledge of the secondary ticket market to provide you with details of some fantastic deals currently available. Music fans need not miss out if tickets have sold out from primary vendors, as ticket exchange websites are currently listing thousands of tickets at some very reasonable prices.

Perhaps the most sought after festival tickets since going on sale earlier this year are Reading and Leeds festival tickets. This year’s joint festival at Bramham Park, Leeds and Richfield Avenue, Reading will see the likes of Blink 182, Guns N’ Roses, The Libertines, Arcade Fire, Foals, We Are Scientists and many more take to the stage. Weekend tickets originally cost around £190 when going on sale in March, but officially sold out in less than an hour. Reading weekend tickets are widely available on the secondary ticket market below £250 and can even be picked up for as little as £225. Leeds weekend tickets are trading for even less, with prices starting at just £210.

The Isle of Wight festival will kick off the festival season this month, and is set to take place in Newport from the 11th to 13th June. This year’s festival can boast it’s most exciting line-up for many years as headliners include Jay-Z, The Strokes and the legendary Sir Paul McCartney. Isle of Wight weekend tickets, without camping are still available at the face value price of £130. Weekend with camping ticket prices start at just £185, a small price to pay to see so many huge acts.

V Festival is another hugely popular summer destination for music fans. The dual festival will take place in both Chelmsford and Shifnal on 21st and 22nd August and will this year play host to headline appearances from Kasabian and Kings of Leon. Interestingly, V Festival day tickets are available below £100, and considering many Kings of Leon fans are paying more than this to see the band’s headline show at Hyde Park in June, surely their V Festival appearance could be a better alternative, given the appearances on the same day from acts such as Stereophonics, Editors, Paul Weller and The Courteeners.

Yet another fantastic deal available this week is for Hyde Park’s Wireless festival, due to take place from the 2nd to 4th July. Wireless festival day tickets can be picked up for just £45 from secondary ticket websites, but are selling fast. Ticket holders can expect appearances from Snoop Dogg, LCD Soundsystem, The Ting Tings, Gossip and The Temper Trap.

Prices for all major festival tickets can be compared here at Tixdaq.com.

<enclosure

Reading and Leeds festivals will take place this summer between the 27th and 29th August and tickets are in huge demand, with names such as Blink 182, Guns N’ Roses, Arcade Fire and The Libertines all set to appear across the bank holiday weekend.

A recent statement on the Festival Republic website reads, “It has been widely reported that there are many fake sites for all this summer’s festivals. This particular scam involves people registering for free tickets and is essentially a third party phishing personal information such as email addresses.”

The organisers urge fans to only buy tickets from official websites, outlets and partners. Using our service here at Tixdaq is a great way for fans to compare and buy only official tickets for both Reading Festival and Leeds Festival. We compare ticket prices from trusted ticket exchange websites like Seatwave, GetMeIn, and Viagogo, this year’s Reading and Leeds preferred partner site. Currently Reading Festival weekend tickets can be bought for less than £219, whilst Leeds Festival weekend tickets start at just £207.

<a

The ex-Guns N’ Roses guitarist and general rock legend says he’s keen to play some European festivals this summer, following the release of his debut solo album on May 10. Speaking to Radio 1′s Newsbeat, he said: ‘I know we were talking about doing Download and there’s a couple of other ones. We’ll do some around Germany as well.’

The 2010 Download Festival looks set to be the best ever, with Rage Against the Machine and Aerosmith among the top acts already confirmed. This year’s festival is set to take place from June 11 – 13 at Donington Park and will see performances from the likes of AC/DC, Megadeth and Them Crooked Vultures. It will be one of Rage Against the Machine’s first gigs since they controversially clinched the 2009 Christmas Number One with ‘Killing in the Name.’

Download Festival tickets are already selling fast and the announcement of both Aerosmith and Rage Against the Machine is likely to boost ticket sales figures. Fans are urged to snap up Download Festival tickets while they are still available.

<a

Compare and buy Green Day tickets.

It has been suggested that the Music Hall of Fame rules may be changed so that younger and fresher talent will eligible for nomination. Currently, the rules state that it has to be at least 25 years since the artists’ debut album before they are able to be put forward, however, it seems that this is set to change.

Green Day are reportedly one of the acts who might be in line for a Hall of Fame nomination if this rule change is approved. Green Day have been one of the most influential US rock acts over the last twenty years, but they cannot be nominated due to the fact that their first album was released less then 25 years ago.

By changing the number of years to 20, acts such as Nirvana, Guns’n'Roses and The Smashing Pumpkins could also qualify for a Hall of Fame nomination.

Green Day are set to return to the UK later this year. The US rockers are set to play two massive shows next summer in Manchester and London. Green Day will perform at the Lancashire County Cricket Club on June 16 followed by Wembley Stadium on June 19.

Green Day tickets are still available for both shows, but we can confirm that tickets are selling fast.

<a
