Official sources were unable to confirm whether Tennant would be able to perform at this evening&#8217;s press viewing.</p><p>Despite Tennant&#8217;s absence, his understudy was clearly capable of filling the gap left. The Hamlet stand-in, Edward Bennet, received a standing ovation from the packed Novello Theatre.</p><p>The Doctor Who star plays the lead role alongside Star Trek&#8217;s Patrick Stewart in the latest Royal Shakespeare Company production of Hamlet. The shows have recently moved from Stratford upon Avon to London&#8217;s Novello Theatre and every single performance is completely sold out.</p><p>The latest RSC production is set to run until January 10th at the Novello Theatre, London and tickets to see <a
