Taken from today’s London Evening Standard, here are the hottest open-air gigs and festivals coming up this summer across the City of London. There is plenty to see and do, and this summer looks set to be one of London’s busiest in years, with both the elite forces of Sport and Music all converging on one City. Take a look through the list and find out your ideal line-up:

The festival will run from July 13 – 15 in London’s Hyde Park, with reunited rockers Soundgarden headlining the opening night (July 13), Bruce Springsteen the second night (July 14) and Paul Simon, who’ll be performing his classic album ‘Graceland’ in its entirety, closing the show on July 15

Also joining the bill are Guillemots, Black Stone Cherry, Christina Perri, Marcus Foster and a host of other new acts.

Kids In Glass Houses have a busy summer of festivals in store for them, with slots at Liverpool Sound City,  Download Festival and Hit The Deck all confirmed.

On Saturday, September 10th, the band will be supported by Gruff Rhys, Pete & The Pirates and The Neat. On Sunday September 11th, support will come from The Cribs, Frankie & The Heartstrings and Spector.

Kaiser Chief’s fourth album The Future Is Medieval was released recently to universal critical acclaim, and last weekend they supported The Killers at Hard Rock Calling in Hyde Park.

The Montreal-based orchestral rock band will play a headline slot on Thursday (June 30th), supported by an all-star line-up of The Vaccines, Beirut and Mumford & Sons. Arcade Fire begun June with an epic headline set at Bonnaroo, and are surely set to repeat that in Hyde Park. That show featured frontman Win Butler singing crowd favourite We Used To Wait from a platform within the audience, and their show earlier in the year at Coachella featured an awe-inspiring stage show of giant balloons, so UK fans travelling to London on Thursday are sure to be delighted. Performing tracks from their hit 2010 album The Suburbs, as well as old favourites from incredible debut album Funeral and critically acclaimed follow-up Neon Bible, Arcade Fire are famous for their energised live shows and diverse range of musical skills, with each member able to play multiple instruments.

This weekend Hyde Park played host to Hard Rock Calling, featuring stunning headline sets from The Killers, Bon Jovi and Rod Stewart. This coming weekend will see Wireless Festival descend on Hyde Park, featuring headline sets from The Black Eyed Peas, The Chemical Brothers and Pulp.

As well as playing Hyde Park, the band will play Benicassim and August shows in Manchester and a special show at Edinburgh Castle.

The international superstars are headlining the main stage tonight (Friday 24th), as Hard Rock Calling opens for the first of its three day slot in Hyde Park. In an interview with the Daily Star, drummer Ronnie Vannucci said, “Hard Rock Calling is a f****** great show – I love that show. We’re having our cake and eating it too.” Talking about their previous two nights spent performing at London’s Scala, he said, “These intimate gigs are sweaty, where everyone’s like five feet away and you can see the whites of their eyes. You really connect on a more personal level. But when you have 70,000 people, your gestures have to be bigger. It’s so important about being able to address a group, making a group feel as one.”

The drummer then revealed the audience tonight may witness new material for the first time: “As for us playing new songs, we might have a surprise for you.”

Taking place over Friday, Saturday and Sunday, the festival will see headline sets from The Killers, Bon Jovi and Rod Stewart.

Friday night will see The Killers headline the main stage, supported by Kaiser Chiefs. The Killers are currently writing the follow-up to their hugely successful third album, Day And Age, and so fans could possibly see a sneak preview of these songs. The band have also all recently begun solo projects, and they are expected to each play one of their own songs. Their two hour and forty minute set is sure to be incredible, with anthems such as When You Were Young, Bones, Mr Brightside, Somebody Told Me, Human and Spaceman guaranteed to captivate the crowd. The Killers tonight play the second of two warm-up shows at London’s Scala, with both gigs having sold out in six minutes. Support comes from Kaiser Chiefs, who have just released their fourth album The Future Is Medieval. Headlining the Pepsi Max Stage will be The Kills.

On Saturday, Bon Jovi will headline the main stage. The legendary rockers will play a endurance-testing three hour set, performing hits such as It’s My Life and the epic Livin’ on a Prayer. Fresh from playing a sold-out show at Edinburgh’s Murrayfield stadium, the band, who have racked up 120 million record sales, the band are guaranteed to provide a memorable evening. They are supported by legend Ray Davies, and Imelda May headlines the Pepsi Max Stage.

Sunday’s headline performance comes from pop-superstar Rod Stewart. The 66-year-old has had a career nearly half a century long, seven number-one singles and twenty-seven top-ten albums. Playing hits such as Maggie May, Tonight’s The Night (Gonna Be Alright) and Reason To Believe, fans both young and old are sure to enjoy the star’s classic show. Support comes from Stevie Nicks, while The Lighthouse Family, who reformed this year after an eight-year absence, headline the Pepsi Max Stage.

The Killers are headlining Hard Rock Calling this Friday (the 24th) in Hyde Park. The band are playing two warm up gigs at London’s The Scala tonight and tomorrow.

Speaking to Radio 1 lead singer Brendon Flowers, confirmed that “we have about four or five” songs written and ready for the next album “We think they sound strong”.  Although new material wont be debuted at Hard Rock Calling, both Brendon and drummer Ronnie Vannucci have launched solo careers, which could see them both take to the stage on short solo stints this Friday….

The Killers who have had a break from touring and recording, are on the weekends bill with heavy weights Bon Jovi and Rod Stewart, whilst exciting Brendon confesses ” Those first gigs will definitely be never-wracking’.

Featuring headliners The Killers, Bon Jovi and Rod Stewart, the three-day even takes place this Friday (June 24th), Saturday (June 25th) and Sunday (26th). Also appearing over the weekend will be artists such as Kaiser Chiefs, Ray Davies, Stevie Nicks, The Kills and The Lighthouse Family. The acts will be spread over three stages throughout the park.

The Killers, headlining Friday, are expected to play a number of songs from their solo careers as well as hits from their three albums. Frontman Brandon Flowers and drummer Ronnie Vannucci launched solo careers this year, and bassist Mark Stoermer and guitarist Dave Keuning are both expected to play new solo material. The Killers will be supported by Kaiser Chiefs.

Saturday Night’s headliners Bon Jovi will be rejoined by guitarist Richie Sambora after he completed his stint in rehab. He entered rehab in April fighting alcoholism, during which the band said, “Our support for Richie is absolute.” The band have sold over 120 million albums worldwide, and will be supported by Ray Davies.

Rod Stewart is to close the festival on Sunday night. The singer has had seven hit singles and 27 top-ten albums in a career almost 50 years long. Stevie Nicks will act as support for Stewart, while The Lighthouse Family will appear headlining the Pepsi Max stage.

There are just two days to go before the four-piece commence the first of their three consecutive gigs in the capital city. The band are playing two intimate shows at London’s Scala on Wednesday (June 22nd) and Thursday (June 23rd), before headlining Hard Rock Calling on Friday (June 24th). The shows at the Scala, with a capacity of just 1100 each, are acting as warm-up shows before Friday’s headline event.

It was recently revealed that each member of the band is expecting to sing a solo song at Hard Rock Calling. Frontman Brandon Flowers and drummer Ronnie Vannucci have recently launched solo careers, with guitarist Dave Keuning and bassist Mark Stoermer expected to show off new material.

The second day of this epic event sees Bon Jovi headline Saturday the 25th of June.  Bon Jovi have been touring since February and will wrap up in July, drummer Tico Torres says “I think we need to take a break” but in an interview yesterday they expressed their excitement for performing in London’s Hyde Park.

Ray Davies supports Bon Jovi on Saturday night of Hard Rock Calling, along with Black Cards, Lissie and Vintage Trouble.  On the Pepsi Max Stage headliner Imelda May is supported by Ryan Bingham.

AND there’s a bonus stage for Saturday named the Bandstand which sees headliner’s The Breakers supported by The Launderettes.

The third and final night of Hard Rock Calling wraps up on Sunday the 26th of June with headliner Rod Stewart. Grammy Award-winning Rob Stewart makes his debut performance at Hard Rock Calling but with seven number ones and 27 top ten albums he’s bound to take it in his stride.

Legendary Stevie Nicks supports Rob Stewart on Sunday night of Hard Rock Calling, along with Adam Ant, Rumer and Train. The Pepsi Max Stage headliner’s Lighthouse Family are supported by Mike and The Mechanics.

The Bandstand has headliners Vetiver supported by ZZE.

The 66-year-old former frontman of rock legends The Kinks put the £2,000,000 studio up for sale last July. The studio, opened by the Kinks in 1971, has played host to Blur, Elvis Costello, Bombay Bicycle Club and Arctic Monkeys. Davies recently sparked rumours that the sale may be delayed and potentially even cancelled, saying, “It was up for sale but I’ve got another record to do so we’re debating what to do now. It’s open for discussion.”

Davies is currently preparing for gigs at the Royal Festival Hall (June 19th), Hard Rock Calling supporting Bon Jovi (June 25th), and the Cornbury Music Festival (July 2nd).

Although his decision to re-enter rehab at the beginning of April coincided with Bon Jovi touring the whole band were behind their guitarist: ”Our support for Richie is absolute,” his band mates said in a statement. “He is, and will remain, a member of Bon Jovi.

According to the rumors Richie is ready to rejoin the boys in Zagreb, Croatia on Wednesday.

Dressed up like a pirate Ant and his Band ‘The Good, The Mad & The Loverly Posse’ rocked the Indigo in London.

Its been a turbulent few years for Ant who was charged  in 2002  for throwing a car alternator at the Prince of Wales pub in Kentish Town and scaring the bar staff with an imitation gun. He was sectioned in 2003 after threatening to smash his neighbours patio doors with a shovel, later being found naked in the basement of a cafe. The star has been diagnosed with Bipolar.

A little stumble on stage but Adam picked himself up, dusted himself off and continued with the set. Adam Ant has put the drama back into his music we welcome and celebrate the prince charming’s return.

The Kills and Imelda May have been confirmed in the line up for Hard Rock calling in London this summer.

The Kills are headlining the Pepsi Max Stage at Hyde Park on the 24th of June, whilst The KillERS close the main stage.  Imelda May will perform the following night as main act on the Pepsi Max Stage and Bon Jovi will close the main stage.

Alison Mosshart and Jamie Hince (of The Kills) will no doubt have their number one fan in tow too, wanna be rocker good old Kate Moss will surely join the band side of stage….

The Las Vegas band have been on hiatus since 2010, with frontman Brandon Flowers recently releasing his first solo effort. Drummer Ronnie Vanucci also said in March that the band planned to ‘take their time’ with their next album.

This is the fifth year that the iconic London park has held the festival, with previous headliners including The Who and Bruce Springsteen. The Killers were previously the Friday night headliners in 2009.

Coldplay tickets for the Hyde Park show could be set to go on sale within the next few months.

Rod said: “I’m listening to a lot of blues music at the moment because Jeff Beck, my old boss, and I are going to make an album together. So we’re going to do a blues album, update some blues stuff, because he’s a fabulous guitar player, so I’m working on that at the moment.

“It will be tremendous, because we worked together in the 60s, made some landmark albums.”

Rod Stewart tickets are currently on sale for solo shows set to take place in the UK this summer, including a headline performance at Hard Rock Calling at London’s Hyde Park.

Stewart is also scheduled to perform a number of outdoor shows this summer, including performances at Liberty Stadium in Swansea and Newbury Racecourse. The singer will now join fellow-headliner Bon Jovi at the Hyde Park event.

After the resounding success of his Isle Of Wight Festival appearance, Paul McCartney continues his live tour with appearances at Hampden Park in Glasgow, Cardiff Millennium Stadium and London Hyde Park as part of Hard Rock Calling Festival.

Although selling out almost instantly when originally going on sale, Paul McCartney tickets are widely available on fan-to-fan ticket exchange market, and there are some interesting trends to be seen when comparing prices.

Whilst Paul McCartney tickets for his headline shows in Glasgow and Cardiff are available at below face value, it is his Hard Rock Calling appearance that currently displays the best value for money.
