Persistent rumours about the band’s reunion came true earlier this week, as Ian Brown and the group announced at a press conference in London that they will perform two shows at Heaton Park in Manchester on the 29th and 30th June. The group also confirmed that they will showcase brand new material, before heading out on a world tour.

Tickets went on sale this morning and were expected to be in high demand. Hundreds are already appearing on fan-to-fan exchange websites for all three concerts, all of which are now available to buy online.

The publication claims that the band’s festival dates will coincide with their world tour plans and will give UK fans another opportunity to catch them performing their classic songs, as well as new material.

Asked during yesterday’s reunion press conference about the possibility of festival sets, drummer Reni stated, “We can’t say at the moment,” whilst frontman Ian Brown added, “They’re just rumours. There might be.”

The group famously disbanded in 1996, after a number of legal issues and internal rows. Guitarist John Squire quit in 1995 and although the band carried on without him, they split after a disastrous performance at Reading Festival in 1996. The group released two albums throughout their existence, including their influential debut back in 1989 which included hits such as I Wanna Be Adored and Fools Gold.

Lead singer Ian Brown went on to forge a successful solo career, but the band are now set to appear in their original form for the first time in over 15 years.

Stone Roses tickets will go on sale this Friday, 21st October at 9.30am.

Rumours are suggesting that the original line-up of the Manchester band – Ian Brown, John Squire, Gary “Mani” Mounfield and drummer Alan “Reni” Wren – will reform for UK gigs next year.

It is being suggested that the band have lined up a number of hometown shows at Heaton Park in Manchester, as well as planning to release new material.

According to a British newspaper, UK magician Dynamo and close friend of Brown, showed the paper a text message from the singer, which read, “We are going to rule the world again. It’s happening.”

Dynamo followed it up by saying, “He said it’s true. It is definitely happening. Ian’s on great form. I’ll be at the gigs. It’s going to be massive.”

Stone Roses tickets are expected to go on sale shortly for a number of 2012 UK tour dates, it is not yet known whether the band have any plans to record new material.

The three-day event is held at Bramham Park from Friday 26th – Sunday 28th August. Friday will see Muse headline the main stage, whilst on Saturday My Chemical Romance take the top spot, and Sunday sees a joint headline position shared by The Strokes and Pulp.

In an interview with Shortlist, when asked about the potential of a reunion, the Beady Eye frontman said, “I’d love the Roses to get back, play that album and make a ****load of money for themselves, because I’m sure they didn’t before. Do some great f****** gigs, see what the reaction is and go make a new record.” Beady Eye use The Stone Roses song I Am The Resurrection to walk on stage at each of their gigs. Speaking about the song, Gallagher said, “Apparently, Ian Brown’s [The Stone Roses' frontman] worried about singing but he wouldn’t even have to – we’d sing it for him.” The Stone Roses’ bassist Mani said earlier in the year that rumours of a reunion were “total fantasy island.”

Beady Eye are playing a series of festivals this summer including Reading and Leeds.

Derren Brown’s tour ‘Svengali’ is a baffling and spooky psychological roller-coaster.

Expectedly we have been sworn to secrecy so not to spoil the show and unexpectedly i don’t think I could if I tried! A mind boggling array of ‘tricks’ to embarrass, surprise and entrance us to the extraordinary world of Derren Browns.

His energy is running at 99 as he darts around the stage, enthralled in the jokes, the ore and wonderment, this is not just any magic show – it makes Britain’s Got Talent couple look like your Granddad with a christmas cracker magic trick – Its phenomenal.

Essentially Svengali is split into two halves. The first being psychological tricks, displaying our predictability and Browns mental aptitude. We sit squirming with fear, dread and absolute relish at other peoples blushes. The second half is the spooky act where Brown moves from magician to minder moulder and we delve into the world of the occult (and the shows title) defying belief and baffling his audience.

Typically the ending leaves us all breathless and bewildered. This man is a genius or a wizard, either way incredible.

The Hoxton Square Bar and Kitchen housed the Wave Machinesfor an awesome gig last night. The Liverpudlian band finished their micro tour at the London venue. Describing themselves as Sub Atomic Party Choral I can safely tell you they rocked!

With a full venue, we danced along to the Punk Spirit, You say the stupidist things and I go I go I go.

Whilst they maybe a quirky looking bunch Carl Brown, Timothy Bruzon, Vidar Norheim and James Walsh are mightily talented swapping instruments and vocals throughout the set. Beautiful guitar and  fantastic crooning tantalised the ears and made us feel all warm and fuzzy inside. DEFINITELY worth the £8.50 ticket and should be seen if the opportunity arises, you wont be sorry.

The band formed in 2007 and signed with Neapolitan Music Limited in 2008. They won the 9th annual Independent Music Awards Vox Pop vote for best Dance/Electronica song Keep the Lights On. Currently recording their second album and squeezing in gigs up and down the country, keep your eyes peeled for date and your ears open for new releases!

The Hoxton Square Bar and Kitchen was a great venue. Outside space, with chunky benches and tables meant we could take advantage of the evening sun. Inside is very funky and a reminder that you are in cool east london.  Friends ate and said the food was delicious, its sort of a fusion between south american and mexican food, with bar snacks of Alabama’s sweet potato wedges for £4.50, spicy beans with guacamole £8.50 and Big mamas cajun chicken breasts for £15. The bar has everything you could possible want, i can recommend the cider it went down very well last night!

The AFL said that the medical report from Ward’s team, plus a review panel’s decision to grade the contact as reckless rather than intentional, saved the Suns hard man a longer ban.

Brown was involved in two controversial incidents in the same game, and will also receive another two-match ban for high contact on Barry Hall, meaning Brown will miss four games in total

Neither Ward or Hall were injured in the incidents.

The final line-up for the Ladbrokes World Darts Championship that takes place from December 18th to January 3rd in Alexandra Palace in London has finally been decided.

72 players from all around the world will compete for £1m in prize money – the richest event in the history of darts – and a first prize of £200,000.

Camden Crawl returns this weekend to kick off the UK music festival season.

The indie music festival which will be take place this Friday and Saturday (April 24 and 25), has expanded each year since its inception in 2006 to become a distinct highlight on the London music calender.

Friday nights headliners Yeah Yeah Yeahs will be performing in Camden as part of their tour supporting new album It’s Blitz! also headling this weekend will be The Enemy, Kasabian and Echo and the Bunnymen.

Just behind the lustre of the headliners, plenty of breaking acts will have their chance to win over a festival crowd for the first time. Frankmusik (Saturday only); BBC Sound Of 2009 winner Little Boots (Saturday only); Sheffield-via-Jamaica dancehall masher Toddla-T (Saturday only); DJ crossovers Filthy Dukes (Friday only) and Jools Holland favourite VV Brown will all be hoping to open their Camden Crawl accounts with a bang.

In the true spirit of Camden Crawl festival goers will have plenty of opportunities to enjoy hottly tips indie and unsigned acts such as Marina And The Diamonds, Alessi’s Ark and the splendidly named Ou Est Le Swimming Pool.

Stalwarts of the indie scene will also be  in attendance. Scottish rocker’s The View (Saturday only), will be joined by Brighton boys Brakes (Friday only) and Idlewild (Friday only). Other winners at the 2009 Brit Awards took place at London Earl’s Court included Kings of Leon who took home the awards for Best International Album and Best International Group, Elbow won the Best Group award, Katy Perry was named Best International Female and Iron Maiden took home the award for Best Live Act. As many had expected, Paul Weller picked up the Best Male Solo Artist award.
