The event is due to get underway this Thursday, 8th September, with performances from the likes of Pendulum, Bjork, The Cure, Primal Scream, PJ Harvey and Brian Wilson set top take place across the weekend.

Bad weather has hit the festival in previous years, most notably in 2009, but this has never prevented fans from enjoying the array of entertainment on offer.

Beady Eye will film the video for next single ‘The Beat Goes On’ at the Isle of Wight Festival.

It will be a quick turn around as the single is released on the 11th of July. Details of how they will shoot at the festival have not been given but keep your eyes and ears peeled incase you can star!

Rock boys Kasabian have gone for a ‘heavier’ sound on their latest album which will be released later this year.

Guitarist Serge Pizzorno is even surprised by their new sound: “It’s heavier than I thought it would be. It squares up to you and doesn’t leave you alone. It’s really in your face.”

There is a real swagger to Kasabian. Much Like Oasis in their rock’n'roll days they ooze confidence and musical volume and we’re pretty sure this album will be no different.

iAccording to Serge “It’s a real jukebox album, just tune after tune, with really strong verses and really strong choruses.”

The band have always preferred a fun music video over a self indulgent serious one. ‘Walk’ is no exception. Echoing movie ‘falling down’ starring Michael Douglas, Dave Grohl gets enraged over bumper stickers reading ‘coldplay’ ‘ Justin Bieber is my copilot’ and ‘punk is dead’.

90′s sensation Pulp took to the stage for the first time in a decade to a ‘rapturous reception’

Britpop band Pulp gave their devoted fans and hour and half of indie classics.

Frontman Jarvis Cocker was praised for the return of his ”twitching, pouty dance moves”. Clearly he and the band were happy to be back on stage and likewise the audience were thrilled to have them back.  Performing all the classics Pulp delivered a cracking gig, showing their value in the industry.

Wilson entered the race to raise money for the Alzheimer’s Society. The father of fellow Kaiser Chief’s member Nick Hodgson was diagnosed with the disease last year. The day before the event, Wilson told fans via Twitter that he had not yet started training.

Murphy launched a tirade against the Nashville band in January when they turned down a request from Glee to licence their hit ‘Use Somebody’.

He issued an apology earlier this month, saying he had not spoken “with as much clarity as I would have liked” and that he respected Kings of Leon’s stance.

Last week the band said that it was a ‘wonderful feeling’ that a line had now been drawn under the issue. They also play a string of dates from the end of May to the end of June in the U.K, including the Isle of Wight Festival and a gig supported by Paul Weller in Hyde Park.

The ‘Single Ladies’ star is thought to have recruited husband Jay-Z and friend Kanye West to appear on stage with her during the final performance slot of the festival’s three-day lineup, reports The Mirror.

During his headline slot at last year’s Isle of Wight Festival, Jay-Z brought on West whilst Beyonce watched in the wings.

It has also been suggested that showbiz couple Chris Martin and Gwyneth Paltrow could take to the stage with Beyoncé on June 26.

The other headliners for the festival held on Worthy Farm are confirmed to be U2 and Coldplay.

More than seven hours of Bestival will be broadcast in September with performances from Pendulum, The Cure, Primal Scream and Public Enemy.

Organiser and Radio 1 DJ Rob da Bank said: “Bestival in 3D will be a mind-blowing explosion of colour and multidimensional music and mayhem. Having Camp Bestival too… means we’ve got a great summer of TV ahead.”

Two hours of action will be shown in 3D on each day of the festival, which takes place between 8-11 September at Robin Hill Country Park on the Isle of Wight.

Other acts confirmed for Bestival include Robyn, Crystal Castles, Magnetic Man, Katy B, DJ Shadow and Brian Wilson from The Beach Boys.

There will also be a 90-minute special after the festival finishes showing the main highlights. Bestival was voted best festival at the UK festival awards in 2010.

It’s also been announced the Isle of Wight festival will be shown in 3D on Sky. The festival in Seaclose Park in Newport, from 10 to 12 June is headlined by Kings of Leon, Foo Fighters and Kasabian.

“We’ve just moved in to a house – we’re setting up a studio in there, so I guess after festival season we’ll have a little more time off and just keep recording and hopefully make another record, or maybe two, and just see what happens,” frontman Alex Trimble said.

The Northern Irish band are currently gearing themselves up for their appearance at California’s Coachella music festival this month, as well as slots at the Isle of Wight festival and Radio One’s Big Weekend.

“It is absolutely crazy. I mean, last year we played the Other Stage at Glastonbury which is sort of like the second stage dine-in. I mean, you’re playing with artists that you grew up with and you’re playing with the bands that inspired you and the people that made you want to write music and stuff.”

Foo Fighters and the reformed Pulp appear on Saturday, and Kasabian close the festival after Beady Eye on Sunday.

Tim Burgess and Mark Collins from The Charlatans have just been confirmed as playing an acoustic slot on the Garden Stage, where Midge Ure and James Walsh from Starsailor performed last year.

The sold-out festival takes place June 10 – 12. Last year’s Friday night headliner was Jay-Z, who surprised the gathering crowd by bringing on Kanye West towards the end of his performance.

But band are to now add an extra dimension to the experience by allowing fans to watch the performance in 3D.

Jonathan Dern, president of Cinedigm Entertainment Group, said “This is a collaboration of world class, innovative and experienced 3D partners in the business. We look forward to providing a fantastic evening to fans around the country”.

The documentary and live show is due to air across 80 cinemas in the US on April the 5th. No details have been released for any UK screenings yet, although they are expected to occur later in the year.

Having gone on a hiatus in 1993, the ‘Rise’ hit-makers made a welcome comeback in 2009 with a tour that Lydon personally financed using the money he recieved from the infamous butter adverts.

The band are due to play the Isle of Wight Festival in the middle of their tour, which takes them to Cardiff, Middlesbrough and others before they head out to the continent.

The album, to be called ‘Medium Rare’, will feature two new recordings and a selection of covers that have previously featured as B-Sides or on compilations. Artists covered include Paul McCartney and Wings, Thin Lizzy and Prince.

The album will be released 4 days after their new studio album ‘Wasting Light’. The band are headlining T in the Park and the Isle of Wight Festival this summer.

An application has been submitted by promoters ‘Solo’ to the Isle of Wight Council under the Isle of Wight Act, the legislation which controls major events on the Island. The organisers are also seeking to increase space for backstage crew and staff at Seaclose Park, Newport.
The major stumbling block to the increase would be the residents of Newport, many of whom flee the island during the weekend of the festival. The cabinet member responsible for community safety, Cllr Barry Abraham, claims that there will be a full public consultation once a licensing application has been submitted, which must be done before Monday 12th April.
Kings of Leon, Foo Fighters and Kasabian are confirmed as the headliners to this years festival. Previous headliners since the festival was re-launched include The Police and David Bowie.

The group’s appearance at the festival, which takes place at Robin Hill Country Park from September 9-11, will be a UK exclusive.

The Foo’s seventh studio album is due to be released on the 11th of April and marks the first time Grohl has worked with producer Butch Vig since Nirvana’s ‘Nevermind’.

The Foo Fighters will headline this Friday’s NME Big Gig before returning in the summer at the Isle of Wight festival. They then have two huge shows at the Milton Keynes National Bowl followed by a headline appearance at the T in the Park festival.

Kasabian recently won Best Act In The World Today award at the Q Awards, and members Tom Meighan and Sergio Pizzorno are rumoured to be heavily involved in an upcoming British sitcom. Speaking to NME, Meighan revealed, “We’re going to go back on the road in April or May, and we’re going to be doing the small shows again – 1,000, 2,000 people a night.”

T in the Park tickets are available to buy online now.

The band had already confirmed shows at Milton Keynes National Bowl for June 2011, as well as a headline performance at The Isle Of Wight festival during the same month.

Tickets for the band’s T in the Park show will go on sale tomorrow morning, Friday 3rd December at 9am. All other Foo Fighters tickets are available now.

Other acts confirmed for the festival at Robin Hill Country Park on the Isle Of Wight include Primal Scream, Magnetic Man, Robyn, Crystal Castles and Brian Wilson.

Bestival will run from September 8th to 11th, and The Cure have been confirmed to perform on the Saturday night.

A limited number of Bestival tickets are on sale now.

More big names are set to be announced for the festival’s 5th year anniversary.

Rockness tickets will go on general sale on Friday 26th November.
