Acts who were also on the shortlist of 12 artists include Joy Formidable, Funeral For A Friend and The Blackout.</p><p>The winner of the coveted music prize will be announced in Cardiff this October. Gruff Rhys will also be heading out on an extensive tour of the UK this Autumn.</p><p><a

isPermaLink="false">http://www.tixdaq.com/news/?p=22552</guid> <description><![CDATA[The Joy Formidable speak out about progress on new record ]]></description> <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Joy Formidable are one of Britain&#8217;s most exciting new rock bands in the business and they have already been hailed by the Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl as the next big thing.</p><p>They released their debut album,  The Big Roar in January and now it appears that their follow up could come a lot sooner than anticipated. In an interview with the NME, singer Ritzy Bryan commented,</p><p>&#8220;We started the second album ages ago. We write all the time, even when we&#8217;re on the road, because we record ourselves, we build collections of songs quite quickly. We have about 15 or 20 already, but lots of other bits too, there&#8217;ll be lots to choose from when we eventually sit down and sort it out.&#8221;</p><p>This news will certainly excite all Joy Formidable fans out there who are eager to hear what the Welsh trio will do next. Before they release any new material the band will be playing this year&#8217;s Reading and Leeds Festival before embarking on their own tour in the Autumn.</p><p><strong><a

They will join with Dave Grohl and co. on the East coast section of their tour.</p><p>Earlier in the year, Foo Fighters frontman Dave Grohl told of his love for the Joy Formidable and called their song Whiring the song of the year. Ed Banger headlines the Relentless Energy Drink Arena. Also appearing on Friday are Ms Dynamite, Vice and Aeroplane.</p><p>Saturday (July 16th) features headliner Snoop Dogg take to the main stage, supported by Katy B, Santigold (formerly Santogold) and Jessie J. The event moves between Bristol, Nottingham and Manchester with  countless venues due to host an eclectic bill which is still being  formulated.</p><p>London trio The Joy Formidable are set to drop by, while &#8230;And You  Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead are also due to perform at this year&#8217;s Dot To Dot.</p><p>Adding a host of new names to the bill, organisers for Dot To Dot have announced a special performance from Guillemots.
