Kate Nash Announces A Number Of Low Key UK Shows

Singer Songwriter Kate Nash revealed earlier today that she would be playing a select number of UK venues. The English songstress who has had both a UK No.1 album and ‘Best Female Artist’ BRIT award will be playing gigs in Liverpool, Manchester, Birmginham, Bristol and Oxford throughout June.

The tour kicks off on Wednesday 20th June in Liverpool’s Zanzibar Club. Tickets go on sale Friday 4th May at 9am.

Kaiser Chiefs and Kate Nash join in with the London clean up

It would be fair to say that the City of London is not currently in a very good place and amid the wreckage and destruction Kate Nash and the Kaiser Chiefs have today helped up in the cleaning process.

Ricky Wilson (Kaiser Chiefs front man) tweeted today, “Camden Chalk Farm. Me and Simon will be there in a bit with our brooms. Get one near you today if you’re about.”

London singer songwriter Kate Nash meanwhile has been helping out with the clean-up at Bethnal Green and in Clapham. It seems that these celebrities are eager to get involved with a reconstruction process which could take some time.

The music industry itself was hit quite hard by the rioting as merchandise was stolen from numerous record stores up and down the city in the past few days of violence and looting.

The Kaiser Chiefs will be touring the UK (once they have finished tidying it up) and will be playing two very special home-town shows at the Kirkstall Abbey in Leeds on the 10th and 11th September.

Professor Green in feud over Kate Nash with The Cribs

Professor Green is certainly not stranger to controversy and now he is at it again, this time over London singer songwriter Kate Nash.

On his track Into the Ground, Green compares Kate Nash to Krusty the Clown from the Simpsons, much to the annoyance of The Cribs’ Ryan Jarman who is currently going out with Kate Nash.

Jarman and Green were not the best of friends before this recent incident as Green tried it on with Kate Nash on his tour last year. Now Green has responded by telling the Daily Star, “Kate Nash is definitely different-looking to the girls I’ve been out with so I ask Ryan Jarman how you can accuse me of clucking over Krusty The Clown; that’s an insult in itself.”

Professor Green will be touring with his new album, At Your Inconvenience this Autumn.

Kate Nash gives hangers-on the sack

British singer Kate Nash has fired several members of her entourage in a bid to avoid a repeat of her drink-fuelled 2008 tour which ended with the star suffering a breakdown.

The Foundations hitmaker revealed last year she was forced to take time off after her long hours and rock ‘n’ roll lifestyle on the road began to affect her health.

She spent weeks recovering at home, watching television and catching up on sleep – and she also sacked several members of her inner circle to avoid falling back into “unhealthy” habits.

Nash tells Scotland’s Daily Record, “I went home and watched TV. I passed my driving test and started hanging out with my friends again. I stopped living out of a suitcase and moved into a flat. I was sleeping, reading books and going to the movies. I did ordinary things to get inspired.

“I feel a lot more in control now. I have had to fire a lot of people. Being a young girl and doing that gives you a different outlook. Over the last four years, I sacked a lot of people because things weren’t working out and relationships were negative. You can be surrounded by yes-men and women who just want to be seen with somebody cool. You have to know who your real friends are.”

Kate Nash launches music education tour

Musician Kate Nash today launched a nationwide interactive music educational tour along with The Co-operative and the British Music Experience, to inspire young people across the UK to engage with music.

The tour, in the form of a traditional London bus, has been transformed to replicate the music museum which is at the O2 in London and will take to the road over the coming months, visiting schools up and down the country.

Kate Nash is currently touring the UK following the release of last year’s album, My Best Friend Is You. Kate Nash tickets are on sale now for all upcoming UK tour dates.

Kate Nash concerts have been announced for 2011, with the singer playing a series of intimate shows around the country. The singer shot to fame in 2007 with her first album Made of Bricks which reached number 1 in the UK Album charts. The LP featured the song Foundations and it was this single that helped Nash receive recognition and all important radio air play.

Subsequent tours and release of her second album My Best Friend Is You has helped build on her original success, and she will be touring the UK in 2011 at intimate venues in Portsmouth, Nottingham, Brighton, Reading, Bath, Cardiff and Liverpool.

Londoner Kate Nash has announced a short UK tour to coincide with the release of her second album. The Foundations singer has revealed a change in direction to a girl group pop sound, with her biggest influence being Diana Ross and the Supremes.

Kate Nash’s second album will be called My Best Friend Is You, and is released on 19th April 2010. She tours in support of it on the following UK dates:

April 17th 2010 – The Hare and Hounds, Birmingham

Radiohead to play summer 2009 concerts

In an interview with BBC radio’s Newsbeat Radiohead guitarist Ed O’Brien has hinted at the possibility of the Band performing a series of summer gigs.

Currently working on new material, it would seem that the band will be seeking to showcase a new album at various summer gigs. We will be doing a little bit of touring in the summer, watch this space!’ said O’Brien

The expected tour would following on from Radiohead’s 2008 In Rainbows tour which culminated in a showpiece concert at London’s Hyde park.

O’Brien was speaking at the first meeting of the Featured Artists’ Coalition in London. The newly formed music industry lobby of musicians who are attempting to establish a more prominent voice in the future of the music industry.

The FAC has claimed it will fight to ensure that the interests of artists and fans are not compromised by deals brokered between multi-national corporations which only serve corporations self interest. To this end it is asking for transparency from the industry in exchange for cooperation towards renewal and growth.

Early line up for Great Escape Festival revealed

Metronomy, The Golden Silvers and a host of hotly-tipped acts including The Soft Pack, VV Brown, The Big Pink and Passion Pit are to perform at the three-day event in Brighton.

The new music festival, the UK’s answer to Austin’s SXSW festival, will see more than 300 artists performing across 34 venues from 14-16 May.

Last year The Ting Tings and Vampire Weekend played at the event.

Other acts confirmed for this year’s line-up include Kissy Sell Out, Esser, Future Of The Left, Micachu, Pulled Apart By Horses, The Chapman Family, Johnny Foreigner, Dananakroyd, Yves Klein Blue, John Steel Blues Band and The Joy Formidable.

Tickets for the event, which is now in its fourth year, are currently on sale now.

In previous years, The Great Escape has helped to break acts such as The Klaxons, The Kooks, Glasvegas, Gossip, Adele, Jack Penate, Gallows, Kate Nash, Sam Sparro and Crystal Castles.
