Keane are currently touring the UK and Ireland in support of their latest album, Night Train, and will also be performing in Gloucester, Tetbury, Mansfield, Glasgow, Dublin, Pickering and Rugeley throughout June.

Keane are set to kick off their latest UK tour on Friday 10th June with a performance at Thetford Forest, Suffolk. There are still 900 Keane tickets yet to be sold for shows up and down the UK including appearances at London’s Roundhouse and the Birmingham O2 Academy.

Keane ticket prices start at £27, with the cheapest available for their Birmingham show. The cheapest Keane Roundhouse tickets are priced at £35.

Diana Vickers announced as Scouting For Girls support act

Scouting For Girls achieved a first UK number one in April with This Ain’t A Love Song, the first single from their second album Everybody Wants To Be On TV. The London band have just revealed that the support act for their concert at High Lodge in Thetford Forest on July 8th 2010 will be another chart topper: X Factor semi-finalist Diana Vickers.

Diana Vickers reached the top spot with her debut single, Once, just a few weeks later and her album Songs From The Tainted Cherry Tree followed it to number one in mid-May.

Scouting For Girls tickets are available for all their remaining dates, including the Thetford Forest gig, which will be part of the Forestry Commission Tour and prices begin at £26 from Gigantic.

The Forestry Commission was set up to protect and expand Britain’s most beautiful woodland areas, and other acts supporting the initiative include JLS, Blondie, Katie Melua, The Saturdays, Status Quo, Doves, James Morrison, Keane and Simply Red.

In fact, Forestry Commission Tour tickets are also available for all these acts, with Doves tickets the cheapest at £16 from Ticketmaster subsidiary GetMeIn.

Revenue from the concerts will go towards the regeneration of UK forests.

Keane secure top spot in UK album chart

Keane have once again found themselves at the summit of the UK album chart with their latest EP, Night Train. The trio have collaborated with series of guest producers and rappers throughout their latest release, resulting in one of their most diverse records to date, and their fourth UK number one.

Keane fought off competition from Plan B, Lady Gaga and others, and the band’s global album sales now top ten million.

Keane announce four summer UK and Ireland tour dates

Keane tickets will be available this Wednesday (April 14) for four tour dates across the UK and Ireland. The band are set to perform at The Roundhouse, London on June 15th, Birmingham Academy on June 16th, Glasgow Barrowland on June 21st and Dublin Olympia on June 23rd.

Keane announce intimate London gig – tickets on sale Wednesday

Keane have announced that they are to play a one-off intimate London gig on May 12th, two days after the release of their latest EP. The band will play at The Fridge nightclub in Brixton and tickets will be available this Wednesday (March 24th).

As well as their one-off Brixton gig, Keane are set to play six shows in a number of venues that have been set up in forests around the UK this summer. The band play the first concert in Suffolk at Thetford Forest on June 11. The Keane tour also visits Kent, Gloucestershire, Nottinghamshire and North Yorkshire. The tour draws to a close at Cannock Chase Forest in Staffordshire on June 26.

Tom Chaplin from Keane has new addiction… to golf!

The lead singer of Sussex band Keane, Tom Chaplin, was much maligned in the media for his addictions to both drink and drugs. He went to famous rehab clinic The Priory in order to recover, and has instead developed another obsession. After Alice Cooper found salvation from his alcoholism in the form of golf, Chaplin decided to take up the sport as well. It has done wonders for the Keane frontman, and he has now achieved an impressive handicap of eight!

Keane release rap collaboration EP in May

It is always a good thing when a band decides against sitting on their laurels, and it is safe to say that since the piano ballad driven days of debut album Hopes And Fears, Keane have evolved a great deal. They bring out a new EP on May 10th, entitled Night Train, and it comes with the rather stunning news that it will feature a three collaborations with rappers with K’naan and Tigarah, as well as five tracks of their own.

Keane tour the UK in May as part of the Forestry Commission Tour, and will play some of the UK’s most beautiful settings. The full list of tour dates is below:

Forestry Commission Tour gets underway in June

The untouched areas of Britain’s countryside are an incredibly beautiful environment for many species of wildlife and plants. However, humanity seems to be doing its best to destroy this part of the country through urbanisation, litter and neglect. The Forestry Commission is a non-ministerial government department which was set up to ensure that Britain’s forests are protected and expanded in the best possible way, and part of this mission is funded by the Forestry Commission Tour.

The Forestry Commission decided the best way to combat the issue of receding forests was to try and get some of music’s top acts to perform in Britain’s stunning settings, and so the tour was founded.

2010 boasts yet another brilliant lineup, which is as follows:

SPL title race heats up as title contenders play each other

Rangers play Celtic this weekend in a game that could go some way to deciding the destination of the winner’s trophy in the Clydesdale Bank Premier League. The Glasgow rivals face off at Ibrox, where Celtic have not won in the league since December 2008. Should Celtic manage to claim victory the title race would again be thrown wide open, and given that Celtic’s remaining fixtures are on paper less taxing than Rangers’, it really could go either way. Rangers have tough games to come against Aberdeen, Dundee Utd and Hearts, while Celtic’s remaining fixtures are predominantly against teams fighting relegation and would be expected to win. With the inspired loan signing of Robbie Keane, a good run against St. Johnstone, Kilmarnock and Motherwell could do wonders for their challenge and by April, we may finally know which side of Glasgow the SPL crown will rest.

Keane announce new EP

Keane have announced that they will release a new eight-song EP on May 10 called ‘Night Train.’ The EP was recorded by the trio on the road during their last world tour. Two rappers make guest appearances: K’Naan appears on the song ‘Stop For A Minute,’ while Tigarah features on ‘Ishin Denshin (You’ve Got To Help Yourself).’

Keane are also preparing for their latest UK tour. The 2010 Forest tour is part of the Forestry Commission Live Music series and will kick off at Thetford Forest in Suffolk on June 10. The Keane tour also includes visits to Kent, Gloucestershire, Nottinghamshire and North Yorkshire, before drawing to a close at Cannock Chase Forest in Staffordshire on June 26.

Liam Gallagher speaks of Oasis absence at V Festival

Liam Gallagher has apologised for the cancelled Oasis headline slot at Sunday's V Festival.

Liam Gallagher has spoken out for the first time about his band Oasis having to cancel their headline slot at Sunday’s V Festival, scheduled to take place at the Chelmsford Hylands Park venue.

Oasis were able to perform at the V Festival the day before at the Shifnal Weston Park, but singer Liam Gallagher was diagnosed with viral laryngitis by doctors and was forced to pull out of their performance for the following day, disappointing many of the fans who came to V Festival to see them especially.

Liam Gallagher posted his comments using Twitter, claiming his voice had disappeared, and that he was gutted and sorry. He also paid respect to the bands who covered Oasis songs on the Sunday night in their absence, which included Keane.

Lead singer of Keane Tom Chaplin has admitted wanting to work with Oasis some day and that the band are huge fans of theirs.

Despite Oasis not showing much support towards Keane in the past, Tom Chaplin believes the two bands share a lot of fans and that they are two bands who relate to their audience.

Tom Chaplin also thinks that both Keane and Oasis songs are always direct whilst the group of people who go to Keane and Oasis gigs is like the coming together of a community.

Other bands who covered Oasis songs during their absence at Sunday’s V Festival were MGMT and Snow Patrol, who became the new Sunday headliners.

MGMT, with current album Oracular Spectacular, are scheduled to play one more UK festival this year and it comes in the shape of Bestival 2009, which is being held at the Isle of Wight Robin Hill Adventure Park from September 11-13.

Also, Snow Patrol will be back in the UK for their Winter tour, which they have called the Reworked Tour and are sure to perform songs from their last album A Hundred Million Suns.

The Snow Patrol Reworked tour begins at the Brighton Centre on November 18.

It will then stop off at the Bristol Colston Hall (November 20), Newcastle City Hall (November 21), London Royal Albert Hall (November 23 & 24), Manchester Palace Theatre (November 27 & 29) and the Glasgow SECC and Clyde Auditorium (November 30) before taking the tour to Ireland.

Snow Patrol tickets go on general sale on Thursday August 27 at 9am.

Amy Winehouse due to make live return

It has been confirmed that Amy Winehouse will return to live performances this May, as part of the 50th anniversary celebrations of Island Records.

The soul songstress who has not performed in front of an audience since September 2008 will be taking part in a series of gigs by various Island Record artists throughout the month of May.

Other acts also due to perform the Island Life celebratory shows at London Shepherds Bush Empire a include Keane, Paul Weller, The Fratellis, Ladyhawke, Bombay Bicycle Club and Cat Stevens.

The Island Life shows will begin with Sly And Robbie, The Compass Point Allstars (May 26), continuing with The Fratellis, Bombay Bicycle Club (May 27), Cat Stevens and friends, Baaba Maal (May 28), Paul Weller, Ernest Ranglin, Spooky Tooth (May 29), Keane, Tom Tom Club, Ladyhawke (May 30), Amy Winehouse, Toots And The Maytals, I Blame Coco (May 31).

Fans will have more opportunities to see some of the Island Record artist’s they set out on tour throughout 2009.

Paul Weller has recently confirmed that he will play a series of outdoor shows this summer in the UK as part of the Forestry Commission Live Music 2009 Tour. The Paul Weller tour will kick of June 5 at Thetford Forest in Suffolk and include visits to Nottingham’s Sherwood Pines Forest Park (June 19) and the Westonbrit Arboretum (June 20), Gloucestershire. The final Paul Weller concert will take place at the Yorkshire Dalby Forest (June 27). Tickets are still available for Paul Weller’s summer shows at prices beginning at £33.

The Bombay Bicycle Club will be making appearances at London’d Borderline Club (March 23), Kings Colege London (April 13), Manchester Academy (April 15), ABC 2 Glasgow (April 16), Newcastle University (April 17), The Rainbow Birmingham (April 18) and Audio Brighton (April 19). V Festival Chelmsford Tickets sell out in under two hours

Tickets for the V Festival’s Chelmsford site have sold out in less than two hours this morning according to the events organisers.

Meanwhile the final few tickets available for the Weston Park site of the two site two day festival are quickly diminishing after they went on sale at 10am this morning (March 6).

Oasis play seven further dates including performances at Sunderland Stadium of Light (June 10), Cardiff Millennium Stadium (June 12), Murrayfield Stadium in Glasgow (June 17) and Coventry’s Ricoh Arena (July 7). Glasvegas, Doves Nine Inch Nails, Pet Shop Boy’s and Jane’s Addiction have been confirmed to perform at Ireland’s Oxegen festival this summer.

The Saturdays, Eagles Of Death Metal, Dreadzone, God Is An Astronaut, Tom Middleton,Aeroplane, Gary Go and Hudson Mohawke have also been added to the line-up for the bash, set to take place at Punchestown Racecourse in Ireland on July 10 and 12.

Oxegen 2009 is promising to be one of the stand out festivals of the year with the likes of Lily Allen, Keane,and The Specials joining acts such as The Killers, Bloc Party, Blur, Elbow Fight Like Apes, Jason Mraz, Katy Perry, Kings of Leon, Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds, Pendulum, Pete Doherty, Razorlight, Snow Patrol, The Killers, The Script, The Ting Tings, White Lies and Yeah Yeah Yeahs.

V Festival snag Oasis and Killers as headline acts

It has been confirmed that Oasis and The Killers will headline this years V Festival, which will take place across two sites, one in Chelmsford and one in Staffordshire on August 22 and August 23.

Oasis will be adding this V festival performance to their already extensive world tour which will see them return to the UK later this year including some epic shows at the City of Manchester stadium and Wembley.

Meanwhile The killers will be adding the V festival to a series of other summer festival headline appearances at Oxegen and T in the park. This follows a February and March UK tour for the busy and increasing popular American group.

Oasis and the Killers will be joined by Razorlight, Snow Patrol, Fatboy Slim, Keane, The Specials, Elbow, James, Lily Allen, The Enemy, Pendulum, The Script, Biffy Clyro, The Ting Tings, Paolo Nutini, MGMT, Katy Perry, The Wombats, James Morrison, Peter Doherty, The Streets, Lady GaGa, Dizzee Rascal, Happy Mondays, Seasick Steve, Ocean Colour Scene The Saturdays, British Sea Power, Taylor Swift, Alesha Dixon.

Many of the acts performing at this years V festival will also be on tour elsewhere across the UK these include;

The Killers will be continuning their currrent tour toninght in Nottingham Ice Centre (march 3) and then onto Aberdeen Exhibition Centre (March 5) and the Newcastle Metro Radio Arena (March 7). The Killers tour comes to a close with two back to back shows at the Manchester Evening News Arena (March 9 & 10). Killers tickets are currently available.

Snow Patrol continue their current tour at Liverpool Echo Arena (March 6), then onto Cardiff International Arena (March and Nottingham Trent FM Arena (March 12). Lily Allen joins Kings of Leon and The Killers on Oxegen Stage

Lily Allen, Keane, The Specials, Paolo Nutini, Digitalism and The Mars Volta are all amongst the latest round of performers confirmed to be playing this year’s Oxegen festival.

Wallis Bird, Swedish House Mafia, Miss Kittin and The Hacker, Crookers and Hockey have also been added to the line-up for the bash, set to take place at Punchestown Racecourse on (July 10, 11 & 12).

Oxegen 2009 is promising to be one of the stand out festivals of the year with Lily Allen, Keane,and The Specials will be joining acts such as The Killers, Bloc Party, Blur, Elbow Fight Like Apes, Jason Mraz, Katy Perry, Kings of Leon, Nick Cave And The Bad Seeds, Pendulum, Pete Doherty, Razorlight, Snow Patrol, The Killers, The Script, The Ting Tings, White Lies and Yeah Yeah Yeahs who have all previously confirmed appearances at this years festival.

Off With Their Heads as Keane and Oasis slip on Black Ice

The Official UK Album chart released on Sunday 26th October saw 4 new entries to the top 5. The winners were AC/DC with the rocking Black Ice and Kaiser Chiefs despite their album Off with Their Heads being leaked on the web. Oasis, Keane, Boyzone and Ne Yo all dropped out leaving Kings Of Leon at Number 3. Katherine Jenkins and Leon Jackson were also new entries.

It is a different story in the ticket resale charts. Rock takes all of the top slots with Oasis, AC/DC, Kings Of Leon and Coldplay all trailing The Killers for the second week. Kaiser Chiefs, Katherine Jenkins and Leon Jackson are all selling tickets for their forthcoming tours and will be expecting to see ticket demand increase following last week’s album chart success.

Keane Sweep Oasis to One Side

After only a week at the top of the UK album charts, Oasis have been knocked from the top spot by their rivals, Keane. The Sussex trio’s third album, Perfect Symmetry was last week’s highest new entry taking the number one chart position.

The well documented spat between the two groups has clearly served both of them well in terms of publicity and it seems that Keane have come out on top for now. The row was instigated by Liam Gallagher who strongly criticised their adversaries’ musical ability.

Keane are hitting the road in January for a 15 date UK arena tour. Tickets are currently listed for sale online from £27.50. Meanwhile, Oasis are approaching the end of a hugely successful 18 night UK arena tour. However tickets are still available for the remaining 8 Oasis shows with prices stating at £42.

Sussex Trio Keane to Give Fans Taste of New Material

In the same week that Mancunian loud mouths, Oasis labelled them “shit”, Keane have announced that they will be using the same technology to offer fans a preview of their new album, Perfect SymmetryPerfect Symmetry. Fans will be allowed to hear the tracks via Last.Fm as of the 6th October – a week prior to the official release date. The album will face stiff competition from Boyzone’s new record which will also be out on the 13th October.

Both bands have recently announced 2009 arena tours. Keane kick off in Belfast on the 23rd January and end in London on 12th February. Boyzone’s 12 night tour commences 4 months later on May 24th before visiting 10 more cities including Glasgow, Manchester and London. Tickets are selling out fast for both tours and fans are encouraged to get them before it is too late.
