Franz Ferdinand New Video

Franz Ferdinand released ‘Covers EP’ earlier this year. To celebrate its release videos have been commissioned for each of the songs from the EP.

The first is Peaches ‘Turn It On’. The video was directed by Nice & Polite, its awesome, (we like the references to Franz’s first video which was filmed from the point of view of Alexs mouth):

Domino Records promise there are more on the way!

The ‘Covers EP’ includes covers of Franz Ferdinand’s songs by Debbie Harry, Stephin Merritt of Magnetic Fields, LCD Soundsystem and ESG. It was originally released on Record Store Day.

Franz Ferdinand Tickets and tour dates are expected to be announced later in the year.

LCD Soundsystem and Hot Chip tickets for second London show on sale tomorrow

LCD Soundsystem and Hot Chip have added a second London date to their upcoming UK tour. The joint headline tour will now stop off at The Coronet Theatre in London on Thursday 11th November. Full tour details are as follows:

November 10th – London Alexandra Palace
November 11th – London Coronet Theatre
November 12th – Cardiff International Arena
November 13th – Sheffield Magna Arena
November 15th 2010 – Manchester Apollo

LCD Soundsystem and Hot chip tickets for the new London date will go on sale tomorrow morning, October 1st at 9am. All other LCD Soundsystem and Hot Chip tickets are available now.

Bestival tickets still on sale as line-up nears completion

Bestival tickets are still available for this year’s ‘fantasy’ themed event on the Isle Of Wight. The festival will take place on the 10th, 11th and 12th September and is the last major UK festival of the year.

Acts confirmed include Dizzee Rascal and Hot Chip on Friday, The Flaming Lips and Roxy Music on Saturday, and The Prodigy on Sunday, plus Mumford & Sons, The Temper Trap, The xx, Fever Ray, Hot Chip, LCD Soundsystem, Gil Scott-Heron, Chase & Status, Echo and the Bunnymen, Simian Mobile Disco, Delphic, Rolf Harris, The Cuban Brothers and many more.

Although officially sold out from primary ticket vendors, Bestival weekend tickets start trading at £190 on the secondary ticket market, with the cheapest currently listed on fan-to-fan ticket exchange website Viagogo. Tickets are also available from vendors such as Seatwave, GetMeIn and eBay.

LCD Soundsystem tickets for tour with Hot Chip released today

Is an LCD Soundsystem a fantastically impressive TV? No, it’s a rather good dance punk band fronted by its only constant member: James Murphy.

Soon that last sentence will be in the past tense, for LCD Soundsystem are retiring at the very top – like Justine Henin or Michael Jordan or Sir Fred Goodwin. Before Murphy and co depart though, they will say goodbye to their fans in the UK with seven more live performances.

The first three are at festivals. They will play Reading and Leeds festival between August 27th – 29th 2010, and Bestival on the Isle Of Wight on September 12th 2010, but the band will also embark on a UK tour in November – co-headlining with celebrated electronic band Hot Chip.

LCD Soundsystem’s James Murphy is about to put on a smoking jacket, sit down in a battered armchair and light up a pipe, before beginning a lecture on how things were more difficult in the good old days.

This may not actually be true. Instead it was a rather laboured way of saying that his time as an international rock star is coming to a close. Of course, there is a fair chance that he will continue to work in the world of production with the DFA, but as a live performer and recording artist, he is eyeing up the retirement home.

Whether the fans are ready for him to let go is another matter.

In fact, LCD Soundsystem are more popular than ever. In 2010, Murphy and co. played a massive UK tour, delighted a huge Glastonbury crowd, and headlined Wireless Festival. They will play to thousands more fans at Reading Festival, Leeds Festival and Bestival on the Isle Of Wight.

Still, such is the band’s following these days that they have had to announce another UK tour – which they will co-headline with UK dance act Hot Chip – and LCD Soundsystem tickets go on sale on Friday (July 23rd 2010) for the following dates:

LCD Soundsystem and Hot Chip joint UK tour tickets on sale Friday

With James Murphy of LCD Soundsystem electing to retire while at the top, many thought that his band’s appearance at Bestival on the Isle Of Wight in September would be LCD Soundsystem’s last live performance in the UK.

Thankfully, they were proved mistaken.

Instead, LCD Soundsystem will embark on a joint headline tour of the UK in November with fellow electronic act Hot Chip – particularly famous for their songs Over And Over and Ready For The Floor. They will play songs from their excellent fourth album One Life Stand, and with multi-instrumentalist Al Doyle having toured live with LCD Soundsystem before, perhaps news of the joint tour ought to be little surprise. In fact, rumours are currently circulating that there will be a multitude of collaborations – with each group joining the other on stage for huge live versions of their songs.

LCD Soundsystem tickets are on sale now for the tour dates below – as well as their forthcoming appearances at Leeds and Reading Festival and Bestival:

Wireless Festival tickets: Pink, The Ting Tings and Gossip

Wireless Festival tickets are available below face value, with the event set to get under way tomorrow. Pink, The Ting Tings, Gossip, The Temper Trap and Plan B are all scheduled to appear on Friday 2nd July.

Day tickets are now trading from £33, with 40 still available below the face value price of £47. All tickets are general admission and will grant the holder with access to all four stages of the festival.

Tickets are also available for the Saturday and Sunday of the festival. LCD Soundsystem will headline the Saturday night, with support appearances from 2Many DJ’s and Snoop Dogg. Jay-Z will top the bill on the Sunday night of the festival, with appearances from Lily Allen, Friendly Fires and Slash confirmed for the same day.

LCD Soundsystem to retire: Current tour is last ever

When Justine Henin retired from tennis in May 2008, it shocked the world. She was the first ever to bow out as the world number one tennis player, but she will not be the only person to call it quits at the top of their game.

LCD Soundsystem, the esteemed New York producer James Murphy’s project, are a fantastic dance-punk act, and have recorded three superb albums. Murphy has elected to retire at the top though, and following the band’s tour, LCD Soundsystem will be no more.

They have just five live UK appearances remaining – all at festivals. The first is in three days’ time at Glastonbury, with Wireless Festival, Reading and Leeds Festivals, and Bestival to follow.

LCD Soundsystem actually headline Wireless Festival on Saturday July 3rd 2010, with 2manydjs, Snoop Dogg and Missy Elliott providing able support – alongside a host of other stars.

Wireless Festival tickets are on sale for all three days of the festival, with Saturday tickets currently trading for £47.50 from SeeTickets.

Snoop Dogg tickets for Glasgow, Cork, Dublin and London shows

Snoop Dogg tickets are now available for the American rapper’s July UK tour. Snoop Dogg will perform at Glasgow O2 Academy on 4th July, The Marquee Cork on Monday 5th July, Dublin Olympia Theatre on Tuesday 6th July and London’s O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire on Friday 9th July.

Prior to the recently announced shows, it was confirmed that Snoop Dogg will appear at Wireless Festival on Saturday 3rd July, performing on the same day as acts such as LCD Soundsystem, 2Many DJ’s and Missy Elliot. Wireless Festival tickets are available at below face value and Saturday tickets are currently trading between £43 and £103.

Snoop Dogg has been confirmed to perform on the Saturday evening of this year’s Wireless Festival at Hyde Park. The American rapper will join a line-up consisting of names such as LCD Soundsystem, 2Many DJ’s and Missy Elliot. Although Snoop Dogg has been confirmed to perform at the festival for some time now, there was much speculation as to which day he would be appearing.

Wireless Festival tickets are currently available below face value, and Saturday day tickets are currently trading from £43 on fan-to-fan ticket exchange websites. Friday ticket prices start at £35 and Sunday tickets can be bought for £45.

Wireless Festival will take place at Hyde Park from the 2nd to 4th July 2010.

Isle of Wight, Reading & Leeds, V Festival: Tixdaq festival guide

As the summer festival season fast approaches, here at Tixdaq.com we have used our knowledge of the secondary ticket market to provide you with details of some fantastic deals currently available. Perhaps the most sought after festival tickets since going on sale earlier this year are Reading and Leeds festival tickets. This year’s joint festival at Bramham Park, Leeds and Richfield Avenue, Reading will see the likes of Blink 182, Guns N’ Roses, The Libertines, Arcade Fire, Foals, We Are Scientists and many more take to the stage. Weekend tickets originally cost around £190 when going on sale in March, but officially sold out in less than an hour. Reading weekend tickets are widely available on the secondary ticket market below £250 and can even be picked up for as little as £225. Leeds weekend tickets are trading for even less, with prices starting at just £210.

The Isle of Wight festival will kick off the festival season this month, and is set to take place in Newport from the 11th to 13th June. This year’s festival can boast it’s most exciting line-up for many years as headliners include Jay-Z, The Strokes and the legendary Sir Paul McCartney. Isle of Wight weekend tickets, without camping are still available at the face value price of £130. Weekend with camping ticket prices start at just £185, a small price to pay to see so many huge acts.

V Festival is another hugely popular summer destination for music fans. The dual festival will take place in both Chelmsford and Shifnal on 21st and 22nd August and will this year play host to headline appearances from Kasabian and Kings of Leon. Interestingly, V Festival day tickets are available below £100, and considering many Kings of Leon fans are paying more than this to see the band’s headline show at Hyde Park in June, surely their V Festival appearance could be a better alternative, given the appearances on the same day from acts such as Stereophonics, Editors, Paul Weller and The Courteeners.

Yet another fantastic deal available this week is for Hyde Park’s Wireless festival, due to take place from the 2nd to 4th July. Wireless festival day tickets can be picked up for just £45 from secondary ticket websites, but are selling fast. Ticket holders can expect appearances from Snoop Dogg, LCD Soundsystem, The Ting Tings, Gossip and The Temper Trap.

There are over 1,000 LCD Soundsytem tickets still available, with the band’s UK tour set to start this week. LCD Soundsystem are to play two dates at London’s Brixton Academy on the 23rd and 24th of April, and standing tickets are available from as little as £18!

LCD Soundsystem fans in Scotland can buy tickets for the Barrowland, Glasgow shows from just £15, whilst LCD Soundsystem tickets for the gig at Birmingham O2 Academy are currently available from just £16.

The full Glastonbury line-up was announced today, and as expected, the festival will showcase a host of huge names from the world of music. The festival’s 40th anniversary will see Muse, U2 and Stevie Wonder headline the infamous Pyramid Stage, with acts such as Snoop Dogg, Dizzee Rascal, Jack Johnson, The Flaming Lips, Pet Shop Boys, Hot Chip and the XX also set to appear across the weekend.

LCD Soundsystem ready new album

Acclaimed New York group LCD Soundsystem have been excitedly discussing details of their upcoming new album. Though the title of the record itself is yet to be decided, James Ford’s project have unveiled the full tracklisting, and with titles such as Dance Yrself Clean the nine song LP looks set to be another electric slice of dance-punk mayhem.

Just ahead of the release of the album on May 17th, LCD Soundsystem will tour the UK with support from experimental electronic artist YACHT. Full tour dates are listed below:

LCD Soundsystem to hit the road

LCD Soundsystem have confirmed details of a six-date UK Spring tour.

The LCD Soundsystem tour kicks off on April 23 ar London’s Brixton O2 Academy. The band will also perform live at Birmingham O2 Academy (April 26), Leeds O2 Academy (April 27), and Manchester University (May 1). The LCD Soundsystem tour draws to a close on May 2 at Bristol O2 Academy.

LCD Soundsystem tickets are already available for most of the shows on their Spring tour and Tixdaq can confirm that more LCD Soundsystem tickets will be available soon.
