isPermaLink="false">http://www.tixdaq.com/news/?p=23614</guid> <description><![CDATA[Members of the Les Miserables production team to work on new opera ]]></description> <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>It has been revealed today that several of the creative team behind the smash hit West End musical, Les Miserables will work on a new version of the Don Giovanni opera.</p><p>The Welsh National Opera are currently working on Don Giovanni and it will be showcased in Liverpool this Autumn. The opera will be directed by John Caird, who was the co-director of Les Miserables and it will be his third opera for the Welsh National Opera company.</p><p>He told Liverpool&#8217;s Daily Post of Don Giovanni that, &#8220;Mozart’s dark masterpiece is a complex study in sexual obsession and the exercise of power, the greatest and darkest of the three Mozart/da Ponte collaborations.&#8221;</p><p>Les Miserables will continue meanwhile at London&#8217;s Queen&#8217;s Theatre.</p><p>Compare and buy<a

Similarly Jackman is no stranger to an all singing all dancing performance: he picked up a Tony Award for Outstanding Actor in the musical &#8216;The Boy from Oz&#8217; , he hosted the Tony Awards and the Oscars in 2009 when he chose to present in a cabaret format singing and dancing his way through the awards.</p><p>The adaptation is being undertaken by Tom Hooper,the director of The Kings Speech, with shooting commencing at the end of the year.</p><p><strong><a

They will be joining the cast, along with West End regular Hadley Fraser, on June 23rd.]]></description> <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Little Britain&#8217;s Matt Lucas and opera star Alfie Boe have confirmed they will appear in the London production of Les Misérables. They will be joining the cast, along with West End regular Hadley Fraser, on June 23rd.</p><p>Lucas and Boe will reprise the roles they played at the musical&#8217;s 25th anniversary concert at London&#8217;s O2 last year. Lucas played dastardly innkeeper Thénardier and Boe was man  on the run Jean Valjean. Fraser will  play Valjean’s nemesis Javert.</p><p>Lucas, better known for screen work including Come Fly With Me, Shooting Stars and Alice in Wonderland, as well as Little Britain, will appear until September 10th. Boe will perform with the cast until November 26th.</p><p>The musical already includes stars such as Gareth Gates, Lucie Jones and  Samantha Barks and became the West End’s  longest running musical in 2006, celebrating 10,000 performances in  2010.</p><p><a
