Lily Allen may come back as a country singer

Smile singer Lily Allen has told of how she may return as a country artist if she were to break from her retirement early.

In an interview with BBC Test Match Special she commented that, “Maybe I’ll be Lily Rose Cooper, the country artist. When I do go to gigs I get a slight pang of envy and think, ‘Oh I do miss being up on that stage. But I have other priorities at the moment.”

Her other priorities are her husband Sam Cooper, but Lily has expressed her desire to perform again in the past. In an interview with Elle she said, “I really miss singing my songs to people and seeing the reaction on their faces. It’s one of the most special things you can do, or it was for me.”

The pop superstar on ‘indefinite career leave’ has been tamed by the countryside it would seem.

The country bird tweets all day including when on her hendo, which by all accounts sounds very tasteful. She was given a cooking lesson by Gordon Ramsay and some stripper shoes. Lily has given up on the booze admitting “I’m a bad drinker. I would drink to take the edge off”

Lily is marrying Sam Cooper this summer in the local church then back for tea and cake in their garden – Lily has been practicing by doing the local cricket teas. She also came third in her local baking competition. ahhhh Lily you’re a good egg.

Adele highest new entry in music stars rich list

Adele is the highest new entry in this year’s richest young music stars list, comprised of British and Irish artists under the age of 30.

Following recent sales of her albums, ’19′ and ’21′ Adele is estimated to be worth around £6 million.

Kanye West to headline The Big Chill Festival

It has been announced today that ‘Gold Digger’ star Kanye West is to headline The Big Chill music festival in Herefordshire. Headlining the Saturday night, the August date will be the only festival that West plays this summer.

Mexican duo Rodrigo y Gabriela have been announced as another UK exclusive headline act, while The Chemical Brothers are also confirmed to play.

Other confirmed acts include Jessie J, Janelle Monae, Robert Plant & The Band of Joy, Metronomy, Chipmunk, Katy B, Example and Calvin Harris.

The Big Chill is to take place at Eastnor Castle Deer Park in Herefordshire between August 4 and August 7. Previous headliners include Massive Attack and Lily Allen.

Patrick Wolf signs up to Loaded in the Park

Patrick Wolf has signed up to appear on Get Loaded in the Park’s main stage this year.

He’ll be joining the likes of Razorlight, the Cribs (who will be without Johnny Marr after they went their separate ways), The Noisettes and British Sea Power.

The event will take place at Clapham Common, London, on 12th June. The festival started in 2004 and was initially on August Bank Holiday, but changed to its new date after a sbbatical in 2010.

Previous years have hosted the likes of Lily Allen, Dizzee Rascal, The Streets, Gossip, Supergrass, Graham Coxon and MIA.

Lionel Richie could join X Factor judging panel

Lionel Richie is reportedly in talks about joining the X Factor lineup.

Richie is thought to be a favourite of Simon Cowell’s to join the judging panel of the ITV1 talent show as the TV boss is keen to get the final line-up sorted before auditions start in earnest next month.

Dannii Minogue and Louis Walsh have both been told to keep their diaries clear, though have not yet signed their new contracts and neither Simon Cowell or Cheryl Cole are expected to return, as he prioritises the US version, which is currently holding auditions.

Simon is set to meet ITV1 bosses in early April to decided on the four judges, with Nicole Scherzinger, Lily Allen, Michael Buble and Gary Barlow also in the frame.

A source told The Sun newspaper: “It has reached crunch time as we need to start announcing UK judges. Simon is coming in to talk. We’re confident we’ll have it wrapped up by next week.”

Richie’s last US number one was in 1984 and he embarked on advertising Walkers Crisps in the UK last year.

Dermot O’Leary wants Lily Allen to judge on The X Factor

Dermot O’Leary has revealed Lily Allen as his top pick to replace Simon Cowell if the media mogul quits the panel.

The 37-year-old presenter is hopeful Simon and Girls Aloud singer Cheryl Cole will return to their roles on the X Factor but says he has his eyes set on the ‘Not Fair’ star as a viable replacement.

I don’t think we need a nasty judge,” Dermot said. “I think we need an alpha, but an alpha could be anyone. I’d love Lily Allen to be sat in Simon’s chair.”

With auditions set to start next month, the presenter admits it is strange to have no idea who he will be working alongside on the panel.

“I’ve no idea who I’m working with – which is weird, because we’re starting quite soon. I’ll just have to do it myself.”

Lily Allen has recently quit performance to start up a record label and open a fashion boutique shop, but took part as a judge on Channel 4′s Unsigned Act a couple of years back.

Dizzee Rascal to get his own sitcom?

Dizzee Rascal, real name Dylan Mills, has held talks with Inbetweeners creators Damon Beesley and Iain Morris about a sitcom based around his own life.

The creators of one of the most popular sitcoms in years apparently feel that Dizzee is ‘a big personality with loads of charisma’ and the duo think he would be the ideal subject for the show

A source said: “Damon and Iain like the idea of making a funny show about a rapper. Urban artists are usually portrayed in negative or bleak circumstances but they want to do something different. It’s just a question of whether or not he has the acting ability to pull it off”.

Dizzee has previously stated that he’d love to be the first black James Bond. With Lily Allen ditching music for fashion, Mills could be the next star to quit music to forge a new career.

Lily Allen to replace Simon Cowell on X Factor

Lily Allen is Simon Cowell’s first choice to replace him as a judge on the X Factor, according to reports.

Cowell is said to be pulling out all the stops to secure the singer as a judge for the next series. But Allen is apparently not convinced and wants to continue her time out of the spotlight.

“She doesn’t need the money or the hassle at this stage in her life,” a source told The Sun. “Maybe in a few years’ time when circumstances change she will be more receptive.”

Cowell, and co-judge Cheryl Cole, are both doubts for the next series as they both wish to focus on the US version of the hit show.

The 2010 X Factor finalists are on a UK tour, with performances from Matt Cardle, Rebecca Ferguson, Cher Lloyd and One Direction gaining high praise from UK fans. The 2011 X Factor live tour will run until May this year, with tickets still available for all remaining shows.

Mark Ronson Gets Engaged To French Model

Innovative DJ, producer and musician Mark Ronson is now engaged to French model Josephine De La Baume.

The couple met when Ronson asked De La Baume to feature in the video for his 2009 single The Bike Song, and pictures of her engagement ring have since surfaced in the media.

Mark Ronson is probably best known for his 2008 album Version, which featured the likes of Amy Winehouse, Lily Allen and Daniel Merriweather, and his follow up Record Collection also proved immensely popular.

The multi-talented Ronson has recently collaborated with Duran Duran and also has his own band The Business International.

Jingle Bell Ball tickets to go on sale

Capitl FM’s Jingle Bell Ball is back this year, and is set to take place at London’s O2 Arena on the 4th and 5th December. The event played host to some of the biggest names in music last year, and although this year’s acts are yet to be confirmed, famous names are expected yet again.

Fans at last year’s Jingle Bell Ball were entertained by acts such as Lady GaGa, JLS, Tinchy Stryder and Lily Allen in what was described as one of the biggest night’s of the year at London’s biggest venue.

Jingle Bell Ball tickets will go on general sale on November 1st. Acts are set to be announced early next week.

Muse stole the show at Sziget festival this weekend, ahead of their upcoming performances at Lancashire County Cricket Club and Wembley Stadium. The Big Chill Festival gets under-way this Friday, and tickets are still available at face value. The festival will take place at Eastnor Castle in Hertfordshire and will be headlined by Massive Attack, M.I.A and Lily Allen. Thom Yorke, Kelis, Mystery Jets, Plan B, Tinie Tempah, Mr Scruff, Newton Faulkner, Paloma Faith, Magic Numbers and High Contrast are also set to appear across the weekend.

Sometimes it seems preposterous that there are only three people in Muse. The amount of layers to the sound they make is quite astounding for a trio, and only serves to illustrate the ambition behind Matt Bellamy, Christopher Wolstenholme and Dominic Howard’s music.

Muse have come a long way since the early days of Showbiz and Origin Of Symmetry, and third album Absolution illustrated the higher level that the band were aiming for. Black Holes and Revelations and Resistance have built on these foundations further, and Muse’s gigs at Lancashire County Cricket Club and Wembley Stadium in September sees them at the very top of their game.

Thanks to his creative interpretations of songs on album Version - which included collaborations with Amy Winehouse, Lily Allen and Robbie Williams – Mark Ronson is now an icon of music in the UK.

The London-born Ronson was educated in New York, giving a transatlantic feel to his work – and a tremendous crossover appeal. Ronson is not just a DJ and producer though. He can be seen playing guitar in the video for hit single Valerie, and indeed will perform live with his own band the Business International this autumn in support of forthcoming album Record Collection.

Weekend tickets for students can be bought for £120, weekend tickets for teenagers cost £60 each and children under 12 years of age can attend the festival for £4. Adult weekend tickets are available for £155 each.

The Big Chill Festival will take place between the 5th and 8th August at Eastnor Castle in Hertfordshire and tickets are still available from primary ticket vendors such as Seetickets and Gigantic.

Muse, the ambitious rock band of Matt Bellamy, Dominic Howard and Christopher Wolstenholme, absolutely stunned festival fans at T In The Park with an incredible live performance on Friday.

Beginning with Uprising, they moved swiftly on to Supermassive Black Hole and Map Of The Problematique, before taking it back a few years with New Born. Other classic Muse songs featured in a fan-friendly set, with Hysteria, Nina Simone cover Feeling Good, Time Is Running Out, Starlight and Stockholm Syndrome all going down to a rapturous reception.

Muse then returned for an encore of Plug In Baby and Knights Of Cydonia, with frontman Bellamy screaming Scotland as the set came to a close.

Muse tickets are in high demand after thousands of fans across the UK witnessed the band’s breathtaking headline performance at Glastonbury festival. As well as a boost in record sales, ticket sales for two shows at Wembley Arena and a concert at Lancashire County Cricket Club have risen.

Muse will perform at Lancashire County Cricket Club on Saturday 4th September, and will be supported by Editors, The Temper Trap and Pulled Apart By Horses.

For their Wembley Arena show on Friday 10th September, the support acts will be Lily Allen, The Big Pink and White Rabbits.

For the second Muse Wembley Arena show, the band will be supported by Biffy Clyro, White Lies and I Am Arrows.

Muse ticket prices start at £50 and there are over 7,500 available for the three shows.

Wireless Festival tickets are available below face value, with the event set to get under way tomorrow. Pink, The Ting Tings, Gossip, The Temper Trap and Plan B are all scheduled to appear on Friday 2nd July.

Day tickets are now trading from £33, with 40 still available below the face value price of £47. All tickets are general admission and will grant the holder with access to all four stages of the festival.

Tickets are also available for the Saturday and Sunday of the festival. LCD Soundsystem will headline the Saturday night, with support appearances from 2Many DJ’s and Snoop Dogg. Jay-Z will top the bill on the Sunday night of the festival, with appearances from Lily Allen, Friendly Fires and Slash confirmed for the same day.

Snoop Dogg will be appearing at Wireless Festival on Saturday 3rd July after a hugely successful Glastonbury performance last weekend. Snoop Dogg is again expected to perform all of his greatest hits at the Hyde Park show, in what will be his second of a series of UK and Ireland shows. The hip-hop legend will also perform in Cork, Dublin and at London’s O2 Shepherds Bush Empire throughout July.

LCD Soundsytem will headline Wireless Festival on Saturday 3rd July, and will be joined on the line-up by 2Many DJ’s and Missy Elliot. The festival will also host performances from Pink, The Ting Ting’s, Gossip, Lily Allen, Jay-Z and Friendly Fires across the weekend.

Ja Rule: Jay-Z the senior statesman for Hip-hop

Jay-Z is almost certainly the biggest rapper in the world – and possibly ever – and his fellow MC Ja Rule believes that he will still be listening to the man behind the Blueprint at the age of 60.

Ja Rule told DJ Vlad that he doesn’t think there will be an age limit on hip hop anymore, for he can’t see his music taste changing, and the most senior rappers are still at the peak of their powers – and showing no signs of retirement.

Muse are set to perform two back-to-back shows at Wembley Stadium on Friday 10th September and Saturday 11th September, and seated tickets are still available at face value for both shows from ticketing websites, starting at £22 each.

Standing/general admission tickets have officially sold out, but are still available from ticket exchange websites, with varying prices for each show. There are almost 9,000 Muse tickets yet to be sold for the Wembley Stadium gigs.

Standing tickets for Friday 10th September are currently trading between £62 and £200, whilst standing tickets for Saturday 11th September are priced from £80 to £200.

The Big Pink beg to play alongside Lily Allen

New breakthrough act The Big Pink have revealed the lengths they had to go to play alongside Lily Allen at last week’s NME Awards. The rockers performed a mash-up of ‘Dominoes’ and Carly Simon’s 1972 hit ‘You’re So Vain’ with Lily Allen, but this was not before some grovelling had to be done.

‘We thought it was a really funny thing to do – do ‘You’re So Vain,’ Robbie Furze told NME, before revealing how he got permission to play the song. ‘I wrote Carly Simon an email going… well, I was just really… honest. I guess she must have listened to the song. One of the two – the email was good and the song was good!’

The Big Pink are set for a six-date UK tour this May. The duo will perform at venues across the UK including London, Glasgow and Manchester among others. Lily Allen will be supporting Jay-Z at this summer’s Wireless Festival, after the rapper was successful in his plan to post-pone her break from music. Allen confirmed the news herself, writing on her Twitter page, ‘I’m slightly delaying my retirement till June. My last gig will be supporting Jay Z @ Wireless in London.’ Allen will shortly be taking a break from music, with plans to concentrate on her fashion boutique and her own musical for the near-future, but it looks as if these plans will be shelved – at least for a couple of months.

Lily Allen has denied rumours that she is giving up music for good, despite plans for a much-needed break. Speaking at last night’s NME Awards, the singer explained that she intends to focus on her other passions for now, but promises to return to music in the future.

She told NME.com: ‘I’m setting up a record label and a music charity and website and I’m also doing a vintage clothes shop with my sister. I’m not making another album for a bit.’ Allen also joined The Big Pink on stage at the London venue last night to perform a special version of their breakthrough hit ‘Dominoes.’

The Empire State of Mind singer wants her to perform with him at the festival in Hyde Park, London, on Sunday, July 4. Speaking on 95.8 Capital FM, Jay-Z said: ‘I spoke to Lily Allen yesterday so I’m trying to make that happen. Hopefully we’ll get that done.’

Muse have been nominated for three awards at the 2010 Shockwaves NME Awards.

Lily Allen to be investigated

Lily Allen is reportedly being investigated after claims suggested that she was smoking at the Liverpool Echo Arena during one of her concerts earlier this month.

It is understood that Liverpool City Council have launched and investigation after a journalist mentioned Lily Allen was smoking in a review of the gig.

Whether or not the council will take this any further remains to be seen, but would not be the first time that the fiesty popstar had been in the headlines for the wrong reasons.
