Wolf Gang reveals he is making a new record

It has been revealed today that Wolf Gang is already working on a new record. Suego Faults was released this week but now it appears that his follow up record may not be too far round the corner.

The NME reports that he commented, “At the moment we’re doing festivals on the weekends and I’m back to the guitar and piano, beginning work on album number two. I want to have another album out by this time next year.”

The solo artist also went on to explain the logic behind Suego Faults; “It sounds like a place but it’s totally imaginary and came out of my subconscious. I had a dream I was trying to escape this place called Suego Faults. It was this utopia, a romantic, other-worldly, quite fantastical place.”

Wolf Gang will also be playing at this year’s V Festival alongside acts such as Plan B, the Arctic Monkeys and Lostprophets.

Countdown to Lostprophets tour nearly at an end

Welsh emo rockers Lostprophets have been hailed as one of the best British rock bands of the last decade and have substantiated this claim by writing such classic rock anthems as Last Train Home and Last Summer.

Now they are back and will be touring the UK for what should be an amazing procession of live music. The tour begins at the O2 Oxford Academy on August 11th and will go on to play venues such as Bourenmouth’s O2 Academy and the Waterfront Norwich.

They will finish up their tour with performances at V Festival alongside acts such as the Arctic Monkeys, Rihanna and Plan B.

Taking Back Sunday release new album ahead of UK tour

Punk band Taking Back Sunday have released their fifth studio album today, featuring the band’s original line-up.

The album, titled Taking Back Sunday, is the first to have the original line-up since debut album Tell All Your Friends. The album was produced by Eric Valentine, who had produced the band’s third album Louder Now, as well as having worked with Queens of the Stone Age and Lostprophets. So far two singles from the album have been released: Faith (When I Let You Down) and This Is All Down. The album release precedes a six-date UK tour, which kicks off with a show at the O2 ABC in Glasgow on August 23rd. The band will also play Reading and Leeds festivals.

UK summer festival guide – V Festival, Reading and Leeds, Bestival and more

Although Glastonbury has now ended, there are still plenty of high quality festivals featuring some incredible line ups still to come.

This coming weekend (July 8th-10th) sees T In The Park descend into Balado, Scotland. Famous for its charged atmosphere and unique Scottish vibe, the three-day event once again has a world-class line-up. Featuring headline sets from Arctic Monkeys, Coldplay and Foo Fighters, support comes from an incredible line-up including Beyonce, The Strokes, Pulp, The Script, 2manydjs, and My Chemical Romance. T in the Park tickets can be bought from just £161.

Latitude Festival arrives in Suffolk on July 15th, for three days of incredible music in one of the most relaxed festivals in the country. The weekend will see headline performances from The National (Friday 15th), Paolo Nutini (Saturday 16th) and Suede (Sunday 17th). Also appearing on the Obelisk Arena are Bright Eyes, Paloma Faith, The Cribs, My Morning Jacket, Glasvegas and Hurts. Headlining The Word Arena are Bombay Bicycle Club (15th), Foals (16th) and Eels (17th), with The Vaccines, Echo & The Bunnymen and Lykke Li also appearing.

Latitude Festival tickets for the weekend are currently selling for as little as £121.

On August 20th, V Festival kicks off in Chelmsford (Hylands Park) and Staffordshire (Weston Park). Headlining the two-day event are Eminem and Arctic Monkeys, with support from chart favourites such as Rihanna, Plan B, The Script, Kaiser Chiefs, Manic Street Preachers and Lostprophets. Pendulum and Dizzee Rascal headline the 4Music Stage, with Duran Duran and Chase and Status set to top the bill on The Arena Stage. The weekend is a favourite due to regularly world-class headliners and excellent atmosphere.

V Festival weekend tickets are selling from £200 for the Chelmsford event, and £190 for the Hylands Park weekend.

Both Reading Festival and Leeds Festival take place over the August bank holiday weekend, Friday 26th – Sunday 28th. Consistently having some of the best line-ups of the festival circuit has made the weekend a firm favourite of the summer. Headlining the main stage this year are Muse, My Chemical Romance and Pulp and The Strokes, with support coming from Elbow, Interpol, Thirty Seconds to Mars, The Offspring, and Jimmy Eat World. The NME/Radio 1 Stage has headline sets from 2manydjs, Beady Eye and Jane’s Addiction, with The Streets, Death From Above 1979, White Lies, Noah and the Whale, Crystal Castles and Bombay Bicycle Club adding to the excellent line-up.

Reading festival tickets are currently on sale from as little as £135, while Leeds Festival tickets can be bought for £150.

Bestival is one of the summer’s latest festivals, but also one of the most critically acclaimed. Featuring a famous incredibly chilled-out atmosphere, the weekend is a frequent award winner, including best major UK festival in 2010. This year’s festival, taking place September 9th – 11th, features headliners Pendulum, The Cure and Primal Scream. Also at the Isle of Wight festival will be PJ Harvey, The Maccabees, Crystal Castle, Chromeo, Robyn, Public Enemy, Fatboy Slim and The Drums.

An eclectic line-up for an eclectic festival, with Bestival tickets available from £160.

Lostprophets tickets now on sale for UK tour

Tickets have gone on sale for Lostprophets’ August UK tour.

The Welsh rockers are playing only three small gigs, making appearances in Oxford, Cardiff and Norwich. The gigs, on August 11th, 17th and 18th come before their slot at V Festival, so are likely to be warm-up events for the big event. They are also writing their fourth album, The Betrayed, and are releasing a singles album in the autumn.

Lost Prophets to tour UK this August

Welsh rockers Lostprophets are embarking on a small UK tour this August.

The six-piece are set to play just three small shows, in Oxford, Cardiff and Norwich. They are likely to act as warm-up gigs before the band take to the stage at this year’s V Festival. The band are currently writing the successor to their fourth album, The Betrayed, which they have said will be released around the Leeds/Reading Festival weekend. As well as the new album, they will release a singles record in the autumn, featuring two as-yet unheard tracks.

Their UK dates are:

O2 Academy Oxford – August 11th
Cardiff, University – August 17th
Norwich, Waterfront – August 18th

Lostprophets begin recording new album

Lostprophets have started recording their new album with the help of producer Ken Andrews.

The Welsh band are currently in Los Angeles working on the follow up to 2010′s ‘The Betrayed’.

Andrews confirmed the news on his blog, stating: ”Lost Prophets approached me in November of last year. These guys have had some huge success in their home territory of the UK. Arena level tours. They had a big hit here is the states in 2004 with the song “Last Train Home” from the album ‘Start Something’ which sold just shy of a million copies. They have been relatively quiet here since, but that’s all about to change.”

Lostprophets have been confirmed to appear at this year’s V Festival, and tickets are still available below.

Taking Back Sunday return with original line-up for new album

Taking Back Sunday are back in their ‘classic line up’ and with a new album thrown in to the mix as well.

Long term members Adam Lazzara, Eddie Reyes and Mark O’Connell are reunited with John Nolan and Shaun Cooper, who left the band in 2003 to form Straylight Run. The new self-titled album with be release on June the 27th and will feature 11 brand new songs.

The album is produced by Eric Valentine (Queens of the Stone Age, Lostprophets) who also helmed Taking Back Sunday’s third album ‘Louder Now’.

A number of new acts have been added to this year’s V Festival line-up. The event is set to take place on August 21st and 22nd in both Chelmsford and Shifnal, and will be headlined by Arctic Monkeys and Eminem, with support from Rihanna and Plan B.

Lostprophets, Good Charlotte, Kids In Glass Houses, The Wanted, Dionne Bromfield, Noisettes, Chipmunk have all been added to the bill, joining the likes of The Script, Dizzy Rascal, Pendulum, Kaiser Chiefs, Duran Duran, Manic Street Preachers, Primal Scream, Razorlight, Chase n Status, Tinie Tempah, The Courteeners, Ellie Goulding, Scouting for Girls, Bruno Mars, Jessie J, The Wombats, Mark Ronson, N-Dubz, Glasvegas, Hurts, Katy B, KT Tunstall, Squeeze, The Saturdays, Example, Olly Murs, Cast, Kele, OCS, You Me at Six, Eliza Doolittle, Fun Lovin Criminals and Imelda May.

The Libertines furiously rehearsing ahead of Reading and Leeds Festival

The Libertines are said to be furiously rehearsing ahead of their reunion shows at Reading and Leeds Festival this weekend. In a message to fans, Carl Barat said the group, which includes original members Pete Doherty, Gary Powell and John Hassall, were “starting to sound pretty bang on.” The band have not performed together for over four years, and are set to appear on the main stage at both festivals this weekend.

Arcade Fire, Guns N’ Roses and Blink 182 will headline the festival with acts such as Queens Of The Stone Age, Biffy Clyro, Lostprophets, Dizzee Rascal, The Cribs, The Maccabees, Paramore, and Weezer also confirmed to appear.

Camden Crawl 2010 lineup announced!

Camden Crawl has released news of its lineup to excited fans of the London festival, and it looks set to be a fabulous event as ever! The event will take place in a multitude of venues across the North London borough, and will be headlined by Sugababes, We Are Scientists and Lostprophets. Lostprophets cancel Port Talbot show

Lostprophets have been forced to cancel their Port Talbot show after the venue was devastated by fire. The show, which was due to draw their UK tour to a close, will now be held at the Cardiff International Arena on March 1st. Fans will be pleased to hear that any tickets for the Port Talbot show are valid for the new venue.

Lostprophets to go back to school

Lostprophets have announced that they are to return to their roots with a gig at their old secondary school. The invite-only gig at Pontypridd’s Hawthorn Secondary is part of the Valleys Homecoming campaign which aims to highlight contributions to music, arts and comedy culture in the Welsh Valleys.

Lostprophets’ fourth album, ‘The Betrayed’ is released this month and they will be starting a UK tour in February.
