The hit indie-folk band, who recently released their acclaimed third album Last Night On Earth, will perform on September 21st. They close the summer of live music that has hosted bands including The Vaccines, Biffy Clyro, Friendly Fires, Mark Ronson, Tinie Tempah, Dizzee Rascal and 2manydjs.

Speaking to NME about the gig, frontman Charlie Fink said: “It’s something different for us and to be honest I don’t really know what to expect, but we’re very excited. I’ve never been to Ibiza before so I’m not quite sure what’s going to happen. We’re going to do our festival set which we’ve done at all the others. It’s got a lot of energetic numbers so hopefully people will get up and dance.”

The band will tour the UK this autumn.

The two day event takes place over next weekend, and features some of the biggest names in pop and rock music. Headlining the festival will be Eminem and Arctic Monkeys. Also appearing on the main stage will be Rihanna, Plan B, The Script, Kaiser Chiefs and Manic Street Preachers.

The 4Music Stage will see headline sets from Pendulum and Dizzee Rascal, with Primal Scream, Razorlight, The Courteneers, Tinie Tempah, The Wombats and Jessie J.

The Arena Stage features artists including Calvin Harris, Chase And Status, Mark Ronson and Glasvegas.

The series of live gigs and DJ sets take place at the renowned Amnesia superclub, said to be the “world’s best club”. The events started on July 1st, and have so far seen artists including Snoop Dogg, 2 Many DJs and Mark Ronson & The Business International take to the stage. As well as 50 Cent, who will perform on August 12th, performances are still to come from Robyn, Primal Scream and Audiofly.

The Leeds band were performing on Triple J, an Australian radio station. The band’s drummer, Nick Hodgson, co-wrote the track, and so receives royalties when it is played. He joked: “I chose to do this song because I wrote this song with Mark Ronson, so the more times it gets played the more money I get!” The cover can be heard here.

Kaiser Chiefs are playing two huge gigs at Leeds’ Kirkstall Abbey in September, as well as V Festival in August.

Ronson was very close to the late soul singer Amy Winehouse and he produced her infamous Back to Black album. His gig last night was a self acclaimed celebration of Winehouse’s life, and the set included several of her songs including a cover of Valerie, Back to Black and Rehab.

Ronson and his band (The Business International) were joined on stage by a host of guests including The Rumble Strips’ Charlie Waller and Valerie writer Dave McCabe.

During the performance Ronson commented, “There is nothing that I can say but I went to her funeral yesterday and there was a Rabbi who spoke and he said somebody’s life is measured in deeds and not years, and that was the best thing I heard yesterday.”

Mark Ronson will also play at this year’s V Festival alongside the likes of Eminem and Rihanna.

The cause of death is unknown, although the Brit and Grammy award-winner had struggled with drink and drug addiction for a number of years, and had recently spent time in rehab. The singer recently cancelled her European tour after being jeered at a show in Serbia, where she appeared too drunk to perform.

Celebrities such as Russell Brand and Ronnie Wood have posted messages online for the musician.

Her former producer, and good friend Mark Ronson said: “She was my musical soulmate and like a sister to me. This is one of the saddest days of my life.”

Comedian and actor Russell Brand posted a statement on his website, saying: “We have lost a beautiful and talented woman.”

TV personality Kelly Osbourne tweeted: “i cant even breath right now im crying so hard i just lost 1 of my best friends. i love you forever Amy & will never forget the real you!”

Rolling Stone Ronnie Wood dedicated his Saturday night show on Absolute Radio to Winehouse. He said: “It’s a very sad loss of a very good friend I spent many great times with.”

Amy Winehouse won widespread acclaim for her solo albums “Frank” and “Back To Black.”

Mark Ronson surprised girlfriend Josephine De La Baume when he proposed on a La Rochelle beach with a bespoke ring.

The 26 year old actress and model was surprised by Marks proposal and by her own reaction, as she had thought she didn’t wanted to get married but found herself  ”super-excited” “even more excited than annoying girls in romantic comedies.”

The couple have been dating for two years and tie the knot on September the 3rd, in her parents house in Provence. Mark designed a yellow diamond ring with is ‘beautiful’ according to Josephine.

Mark performs this weekend at Rockness Festival and  The Old Royal Naval College in july.

Duran Duran have been confirmed to play one of the shows on August 12, with Mark Ronson to provide DJ support.

“Duran Duran have both a musical connection and a personal history with Ibiza, but we’ve never actually done a show on the island, despite going there and enjoying everything it has to offer for years,” Duran Duran frontman Simon Le Bon explained in a statement. “With our roots firmly in dance and electronic culture, Ibiza has always been a part of our musical DNA, so we’re really looking forward to finally performing there at Amnesia, which is certainly one of the island’s best clubs.”

Other acts confirmed to be playing include 2MANYDJS and Mark Ronson, with two one-hour programmes going out on MTV in August and September.

Simon said: “I love this new album because we’re edgy again. We’re in a very enjoyable place. We’re experimenting more. Our first two albums were considered cutting edge, futuristic and very modern. Mark brought that element of danger and risk back to our music this time around, rather than it sounding like it was designed for the charts beforehand.”

The singer has also revealed the band – which is also comprised of Nick Rhodes, John Taylor and Roger Taylor – are finding their current touring schedule much more hectic that what they were used to in their 80s hey day.

Le Bon explained: “Touring is very different now. Firstly, the venues are bigger – these 10,000-capacity places just didn’t exist when we were first around. I remember playing at a bus depot in Leeds. It was all car parks and town halls then, and we’d only do three shows a week, max. Now we’ll be doing five. In the old days we did so few because it was hard to stop us partying.”

The band are also set for an ITV special later this month.

Deadmau5 sold out a series of live shows across the UK in December 2010, and will now headline the summer outdoor concert.

The movie stars Russell Brand and is a remake of the 1980′s film of the same name which starred Dudley Moore.

Ronson has been in demand recently, having also been asked to work with Culture Club. Ronson has already appeared with Boy George on his song ‘Somebody to Love Me.’

It has recently been announced that Ronson will appear at this year’s RockNess Festival, in addition to headliners The Chemical Brothers, Kasabian and Paolo Nutini.

The festival will take place on the banks of the famous Loch Ness near Inverness over the weekend of June 10th-12th.

Jamiroquai will kick off the shows at HMV Forum in Kentish Town, London on 20th October, followed by Chase & Status on the 21st October. Paolo Nutini will perform at the same venue on 22nd October, as will Mark Ronson on the 23rd October. The shows will be concluded with a performance from Neill Finn at London’s Jazz Café on 24th October.

The London-born Ronson was educated in New York, giving a transatlantic feel to his work – and a tremendous crossover appeal. Ronson is not just a DJ and producer though. He can be seen playing guitar in the video for hit single Valerie, and indeed will perform live with his own band the Business International this autumn in support of forthcoming album Record Collection.

Mark Ronson also said that his new record will be even be superior to Amy Winehouse’s seminal album ‘Back to Black,’ which he had a hand in producing. The ‘Record Collection’ is due to hit shelves in July, under the name ‘Mark Ronson and the Business.’

However, it was not only Noel who decided to unleash one of his characteristic outbursts.. Younger brother, Liam, said he thought all of Coldplay’s fans were ‘boring and ugly’. Coldplay who themselves announced their UK tour in June have sold-out all 16 dates. Tickets are selling for as much as £329 on the secondary market – over seven
times face value. Only time will tell if Oasis ticket prices will follow the same trend.
