The cheeky, cockney comedian has built up a strong following after years of touring the UK circuit got his big break when performing on Michael McIntyre’s Comedy Roadshow, and Mock The Week. In 2007 he was nominated for ‘Best Newcomer‘ at the Edinburgh Comedy Awards, and has since toured his sell-out show, The Out Out Tour.

McIntyre appeared as a judge alongside Amanda Holden and David Hasselhoff throughout the last series, but ITV have now confirmed that he will not return.

“We wish him all the best and look forward to working with him again,” an ITV spokesman said.

A source added: “Michael has been weighing it up for a while as he does like the show and enjoyed being on the panel, but his first love is comedy and he wanted to embark on a tour and concentrate on that.”

McIntyre seems to be loathed by many of his fellow comedians. The Mail Online has reported that comedian Stewart Lee has stated that McIntyre “is spoon-feeding his audience warm diarrhoea”.

At the British Comedy Awards earlier this year McIntyre suffered much abuse at the hands of his fellow comics. Following this incident, McIntyre told the BBC’s Kirsty Young that “It just made me feel awful, because I am there with my wife and she has gone out and bought a dress. Despite this criticism by other comedians, McIntyre will be touring the year. His tour kicks off on August 22nd at Cardiff’s Motorpoint Arena.

The comedian recently finished his first series as a judge on the show, which this year had an average of 9.9 million viewers per episode. In a phone-in call on spin-off Britain’s Got More Talent, a caller asked whether McIntyre (and the other panellists) would return as a judge for the 2012 series, to which Simon Cowell replied that he would be happy to have them return if they wanted to. Yesterday it was announced that the hit comedian would present a 1-hour special of his Comedy Roadshow on Christmas day. The Jason Manford UK Tour starts on Friday 24th June in the Warwick Arts Centre, Coventry. His last show will be in Dublin on September 17th. Michael McIntyre has proved to be one of the stand out comedians on tour in 2009 with ticket demand for each of his shows resulting in a near sell out of his UK wide tour this winter.

The Michael McIntrye tour begins on September 11 at Plymouth Pavillion. The tour will then continue onto  Cardiff International Arena on September 23. Michael McIntyre then visits Belfast Odyssey Arena (October 1 & 31), London Wembley Arena (October 2 & 3), Sheffield Hallam FM Arena (October 17), Glasgow SECC (October 24) and London O2 Arena (Novemeber 3).
